I love this Veterinary Clinic. We were in today for follow up boosters for yearly kitty vaccines, and the staff is courteous, efficient and very knowledgeable in response to questions. Here is Lewis

This place has the best service around! I brought my pup in vomiting and having diarrhea and the Coyote Ridge team got me in same day and took such good care of my Frankie girl. The staff was so friendly and helpful they really took time to get to know me and my pet. Their prices were so much more reasonable than any other clinic in the Fort Collins area that I have looked in to. I'm never taking my pet anywhere else!

Took in my son's dog in. They were thorough with his examination and explained what adjustments needed to be made with his diet being a older dog.

Dr. Joya appeared lacked the knowledge I would expect from a professional in this field. I did not see her properly examine my pet, and she missed clear signs of illness. I decided to get a second opinion at The Meadows Veterinary, and they immediately diagnosed a serious condition. Sadly, by then, it was too late. My poor baby had been suffering, and I now live with the pain of knowing earlier detection could have made a difference. I'm sharing this not out of anger, but in hopes that it prevents another pet owner from going through what I did. Our babies deserve attentive, competent care from the very start.

I brought my dog, Lupo, there during a medical emergency while we were traveling from North Carolina, and what followed was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. We were already in a state of panic, far from home, trying to make the best decisions we could. Despite that, there was a profound lack of communication, compassion, and transparency throughout his care. We were never offered the option to stay in any rooms, just to rest for a little. Being 45 minutes away while our dog was critically ill created unnecessary distance during the most important moments of his life. The most devastating part is that we were only contacted when things had already taken a severe turn, and that call was not a supportive update, but a frantic, high-pressure conversation where I felt like I was being almost yelled at that he needed to be euthanized immediately. There was no sense of guidance, no compassion just urgency without support. We were not called earlier as he declined, and we were not given a real opportunity to come and be with him in time. Because of this, I lost the chance to have any meaningful final moments with my dog. By the time we were involved, he had been intubated. That was not what I wanted unless it was absolutely necessary as a life-saving measure, and it ultimately robbed me of being able to hold him, comfort him, or say goodbye in a way that had any meaning. That is something I will carry with me forever. When we last saw him, he was placed all the way at the bottom of a cage. It felt impersonal and distressing given how critical his condition was. There was no sense that comfort or dignity in his final moments was being prioritized. To make matters worse, a necropsy (autopsy) was performed without our explicit consent. This was incredibly upsetting and felt like a violation during an already devastating time. The lack of clear communication and consent around something so significant is completely unacceptable. After his passing, the handling of his remains and the lack of communication continued to cause harm. Because of delays and inability to reach anyone, his body was not released to the memorial service we had chosen in time for us to receive his ashes before our flight home. We were forced to extend our stay, rebook flights, and incur additional expenses... all while grieving the loss of our baby. I understand this is a teaching hospital and that not every case has a positive outcome. But communication, compassion, and respect for both the patient and their family should never be optional. At no point did I feel supported, informed, or prioritized as his owner. Lupo was my world. He deserved better. And no family should have to go through what we experienced here. There was no compassion in here. There was only a severe urgency to give us a large bill.

I was told that CSU operates under a "seven‑day open billing consent," meaning my bill could actually increase even after I had already paid and left the facility. This was never explained to me beforehand, and being informed of it only after raising concerns felt both unprofessional and intentionally misleading. The idea that additional charges could be added for up to seven days after my visit caused significant stress and made me feel taken advantage of during an already urgent and emotional situation. I will be submitting a formal complaint with DORA regarding lack of transparency, inconsistent medical information, questionable billing practices, and delayed release of medical records and x‑rays. I will be requesting that this complaint be reviewed by Client Services, the Hospital Administrator, and the Service Chief overseeing my kitten's care.

I said will there be another charge at that time they said approximately $35 at the most so I brought it back in five days and when she was finished, they said that will be $100 and I said absolutely not. I was quoted $35 or less. I am not paying $100. I have $40 here that's all I can pay. I have no money to buy them dog food. They're out of dog food I had to decide whether she was going to lose her foot or whether I could buy dog food so they gave me a $40 credit. The second time I brought her in I paid $40 and then they said OK we'll take that charge off so I've got a $40 credit so I brought her in today February 18, 2025. Dr. Robinson wasn't in The manager. Mark was I said I have no money to purchase food for them. They are out of dog food can I please have that over a payment of $40 back he said absolutely not you cannot have that back. I said would you please contact Dr. Robinson because I think if he understands, I have no way to buy my two puppies food that he would understand and allow me to get that $40 back so I could purchase food for my bichon frise and my five-year-old baby blue who I rescued from the boat rescue and he was in a RV with 19 other dog so he has knee needed a lot of extra TLC so with all this I'm begging for the $40 back and Mark says absolutely not. I told him I was going to protest this business and let the customers know that Mark the manager this business family and friends doesn't care if you have money to buy your puppies or your dogs food what matters to him is the bottom line even though I had a $40 credit take note people

I saw Holmes once more, out of desperation after going to many other vets in town hoping to find more information about the costly TPLO surgery most were recommending. I had done some research over many months, pouring over professional and academic veterinary medicine publications on the subject, which I told Holmes about. (I am able to read through these pubs because I've been rigorously trained as a scientist.) But apparently his fragile ego couldn't abide an intelligent, diligent and tenacious pet owner; After the appointment, he walked me to the waiting room, which was then full, and ridiculed me in front of everyone there for getting my information from "internet chat rooms." I'm used to men treating me this way because it's so difficult them to cope with a woman with math and physics degrees, but this time I was devastated because I was already trying to cope with the pain and suffering of my beloved dog whose torn ligaments had already been misdiagnosed by another local vet who is a cat lover. I really didn't need such unprofessional, unethical, juvenile behavior on top of everything else. He's a disgrace to the profession.

Everytime I call anymore, it's a struggle to get what I'm requesting. Copy of chart notes so I can submit a claim to insurance? Half the time I'm told they can't order that medication for me. The other half... they call in meds to a compounding pharmacy since my dog is small. BUT THEY DON'T HAVE IT COMPOUNDED?? I had to tell the same staff member 3 times that yes, i did, in fact want the medication compounded. And then I get a follow up text "just to confirm, you do want this to be compounded?" Last weekend was my breaking point. I took my dog in for a quick blood draw. I was there for an hour. They never drew blood. There were animals in and out. Both for tech appointments and to see the Dr. My dog sat in the back the entire time while I sat in the lobby. I asked several times if it was going to be much longer. After 45 minutes I did tell the manager to please just give me my dog. That took yet another 15 minutes to get my dog & pick up medication. I'm disappointed, because I felt like the vets gave my pets top notch care. But if I can't trust the rest of the staff and constantly deal with frustration anytime I contact them - I can't do it. I am waiting for my dogs records - which has yet again been a struggle.

Before you even show up, before the day begins, I can tell that somewhere Dr. Tim Rowe and his staff have had a team meeting, don't ask me how I know, but I just can tell that the team has prepared themselves with clear declarations of what they need to accomplish and the normal expectations and challenges have been discussed. Furthermore I can tell that something about "CARE" has been discussed and that it is regularly discussed because the team demonstrates itself in a very thorough route around the pet, the pet owner/guardian, and the appointment. They care to remind you, the care to confirm, they care to inspect, they care to ask about your concerns, they care to inform and educate, they care to clearly communicate the cost and care to schedule the follow ups. And no I do not feel in any way they are just selling, and upselling, and running you through a scheme of how much they can soak you for. No not at all... What they are doing though, is a great job of Veterinarian Care and they do this business well. They are not the cheapest and not the most expensive, I would guess very fair if your cost driven. For me I am service and care type, that feels you get what you pay for, and I think I get an exceptional value. I do feel you need to be comfortable with your Veterinarian and staff for you to be happy. As for me, I will highly recommend Timberline Animal Hospital for the sake that they really care and after several visits as you can imagine 5 dogs can bring that I am completely satisfied. My wife and I and our crew of 5 rescues feel completely cared for and well attended to on every visit. I hope you do as well.
