Most recently I came in to find a birthday gift for a friend and order a Christmas centerpiece for my mother in law. I entered the shop and noticed there were a couple of ladies working. I was not greeted at all, no eye contact even. It was as if I wasn't there. I walked around the entire store hoping they'd make contact with me but for a half an hour, I got nothing. As I was walking through, one of the employees walked past me holding a box of some sort and as she walked behind me, she let her elbow rub along my back as if I was in her way. No excuse me, no I'm sorry. I didn't know what to think! I was so terribly disappointed by my visit that I don't think I will be back for some time if ever.

I saw this antique rocking chair and decided to come back for it in the morning. It was the perfect Christmas present for mom. She suffers through back-pain and arthritis and I thought this was the perfect thing to help her. I came back and walked into the store. It is a huge multi-room, multi-level antique mall full of all types of items. It has antique decorations, furniture, weapons, and other sundry items for a great price. I got an old comic book for myself, and a precious moments figurine for mom. I also bought the rocking chair. All it needed was a little bit of love. I took it home, bought some wood oil to use on the chair and it looked perfect afterwards. My mom loved the gift and uses it whenever her back is really bad. I am so glad I stumbled upon this antique mall. Next time I am in Decatur, I will see if I can discover some other great finds!

I knew at that moment this store was dangerous... because it would separate me from my money in no time! I spoke with the owner of the store, Joanne, when i found out that they also did drapes. My new home came with some awfully garish drapes... purple drapes!?!?! Black drapes for a dining room? Ridiculous! I needed some new drapes and Joanne promised me she would show me some great options. She came to my new home and measured, she came up with someone wonderful ideas. During this time i also found out she was an interior designer. I just hired her to help me decorate the home and get me new drapes and decor to make my home beautiful. This was a great decision! Joanne has impeccable taste! She listens and understands the type of style her customers have... she then takes that and brings pieces that tastefully use that style to adorn and enrich your home. I knew I would do more blinds in the future, so naturally I called the owner to get a quote for a less expensive, yet still esthetically nice blind on several windows in my house. The quote went well, though I remember vividly that I thought the blinds had a lining - I told the owner I wanted more privacy, and he understood. My quote came in a little under $2000, unlined, as discussed - when I tried calling him about the lining - and emailing him, he dodged every email and text. I finally got tired of the owner not responding, so I picked up the phone and called him on a workday at 7:30-8 - to which he was irritated and asked me if I knew how early it was - don't most people that work/own their own business get up early? I do! I own my own business. I was also told that I am not his only customer - who says that to a repeat customer?! It's business 101! Paul, the installer, installed a defective blind in my back hall - too late - he drilled holes in the door. He said he would order another replacement ASAP. I can only pull down the shade 8' on a long skinny window that is over 6 feet! I am sure you can imagine my irritation. I tried to be calm, email him every week or week and a half so as not to harangue him - no response. I finally rec'd a pithy email after sending him several texts, and emails; the one and only response was 'it was ordered the day of install' this was early Jan. It is now almost March. Bryan will not return my calls, emails, etc. the shade was approx $400 - and it totally defective! I am afraid to touch it for fear it will break. Them shades look cheap for almost $2000. I just wanted him to make good on his promise, apparently he doesn't care. I would advise people to go elsewhere for an estimate - even Lowes. Boy was I wrong in thinking the owner would be a moral, decent, honest businessman - I was wrong. If anyone needs to discuss, come see the defective blind, or knows a good small claims court attorney, I would appreciate the name of someone that can help me get my money back. I will never use this company ever again. Anyone I speak with will know what happened to me, and hopefully not suffer the same poor customer service and warranty provided. I even reached out to the corporate store to see if they could help, no help at all! It seems to be company policy to not service the customer. They get the money all upfront, so if anything is wrong, you are relying on them to do the right thing. It really opened my eyes to what the owner and company is like as a whole.
