I go here often , have been a customer for years and the service is prompt and friendly. They are busy so best to make an appointment before hand instead of a walk in if you want to get your services, if you're not in a rush a walk-in could work for you. I'll start off by saying that this place looks beautiful, and is much better than the last location. But that's where the good experience ended. The man at the front desk doesn't know how to run a business, as he was running around micro-managing each staff member who was with a client in another language. You could tell everyone in the nail salon was uncomfortable because he was interrupting the treatment every 5 minutes. The nail technicians themselves were very nice, however I felt awful for them as you could tell they were being bullied by the front desk manager. I know his name is Brian simply because the only thing each nail technician said was "Sorry Brian." It felt like I was in nail training school with a dictator at the helm. If you want a relaxing experience, its best to go to one of the many nail salons around the city that are far better, and if you're stuck in that area, go to Nail Boutique down the street as its cheaper and far better. Also, my favorite two nail places in the city are Jolie Beauty Bar on Avenue Rd and Tips on the Danforth. Overall, the experience (1/10) trumped the quality of the manicure (7/10) and I will never go back thanks to the front desk Manager ruining the day for myself and my daughters. read more

This place is very hit or miss depending on the technician. I've had shellac removal and application take almost 2 hours and turn out awful, but then I've been in and out in an hour and the polish lasted 3 weeks. There is a major communication breakdown with a lot of the staff because they do not speak English well, but pretend to understand until it's too late... I want to like this place because its so close and convenient to where I live, but every time I'm in there I hear someone complaining (about something legit) so I'm not sure what the problem is... I've overheard the male technician (who seems to be the manager) tell a client who was complaining about a bad manicure that she should've requested a senior tech for an additional cost of $5 if she wanted a better job done. I feel like that's absurd. Anyway there's nowhere else to go in this area, so if it's not this place it's Forest Nails and Spa or Mani Pedi spa down at yonge/summerhill. Good luck! read more

Love going here. Right off st. Claire subway. Have been going for over a year regularly. They have nice and happy staff, great service. Price is fair. They take their time and don't rush through. The interior is open and modern. Lots of colours to choose, massage chairs for pedis, television for mani. They now have a card for stamps, 10th visit I believe is free. I honestly don't get why this place has any good reviews, the moment we walked in the entire experience was bizarre and rushed. While I don't require much for a pedicure, I at least expect someone to be someone nice to me during the entire situation. I made an appointment for 2 people (2 regular pedicures and 1 shellac manicure-I decided against the shellac after I saw that shellac itself is 35$ + extra if you want a senior specialist) Regardless me and my friend went in. The owner and nobody greeted us for about 10 minutes after we arrived, we awkwardly stood there waiting, while the owner stood at the front fully looked at us and continued talking to two people he knows. When we received the pedicures, the employee who did mine was friendly enough, but my friends person could not be less friendly. She refused to say hi, and then did the whole pedicure in about 5 minutes before saying nothing and storming off. Overall it was a unpleasant experience, and I wouldn't recommend going here. Visited this location in mid January for Nugenesis nail manicure for the first time and the reception was good, professional. But the application was poor. Instead of a sheen, smooth finish, my manicure was grainy and had a matte look. Then the next day the coating on two nails cracked. When I called to ask about a re application, they were gracious and agreed to redo my manicure. The technician that I had on my second visit did a nice job and was very thorough. Punam was great. What I did not anticipate being charged again. Very poor customer service. The manicure was less than 48hrs old. It should have been done for free. read more

I am upset I have to write such a negative review of the salon and of Brian as a manager. I was in for a pedicure. Unfortunately the technician splashed a bottle of solution all over my 3 week old pants (I wish I could attach the photos to the review). It burnt through and onto my legs leaving red spots. I was calm and said mistakes happen, however, I am going to take pictures and take my pants to the dry cleaners. If the stains come out, no worries I said, accidents happen and its over. I had plenty of witnesses smiling and wishing me luck. Unfortunately, if the dry cleaner can not clean them, I'll have to come back to discuss. Brain thanked me, gave me his card and I tipped the technician for her work knowing she felt awful. Being calm and reasonable does not pay off! I took the pants directly to the dry cleaners and unfortunately, the stains bleached the pants and they are ruined. I calmly went back with the dry cleaned pants to speak with Brain. I showed him the pants, pulled up the exact pair still available at the store on line and said I am not looking for anything except the replacement. Would you like to order or shall I? SURPRISE......... Brain does not feel he is responsible and after discussion will agree to $50 and dry cleaning. The pants were $170. I have the bill. I am disgusted. I told him he needed to do the right thing and I don't want to get angry and argue. He disagreed. Now, I am not one to cause unnecessary drama, but othing drives me crazier than people who do not take accountability for their actions and do not do the right thing. I will now write negative reviews everywhere sharing the story and take further action........ not for money....... absolutely for principle. Super unimpressed with my last visit to Cozy. I booked two shellac manicures as a birthday present for a friend. When we arrived, they seated us at the bar and said that they could start working on one of us and the other would be done soon. I let my friend go first and then proceeded to WAIT FOR TWENTY MINUTES without an explanation from them. When they finally started on my nails they did a rush job on the shellac (and subsequently it only lasted one week). When I politely complained at the cash, they refused to give me a discount or apologize saying "It shouldn't have to come out of the girl's pay." No it shouldn't, shotty service is something the management should cover. They gave me a card to come back for a toe polish change ($12 value) but I don't really have a desire to go back there. read more

Got a mani-pedi Had my appointment around 4:00pm, was charged $6.00 extra for the zoya nail polish which was clearly old because it wasn't even dry by 11:00pm! now on my right hand I have 3 mucked up fingers. To what it seemed like to me it was the owner that spoke another language the entire time, was making faces and huffing and puffing about the nail polish on my toes (I know it sucks I had a sparkly one on-BUT this is a service I am paying for) which made me feel uncomfortable. My mom wanted the galette for her heals which seemed as if it was a problem/burned to them. HOWEVER! there were two girls that did our mani's which were so sweet! not sure their names but they seemed younger. They helped my mom with her shoes and were pretty accommodating! ROSEDALE/DEER PARK BEWARE! Absolutely terrible. Without telling me, they used acetone on my nails and it ate away at my nail bed and weakened my nails. The aesthetician also forced me into additional services in the middle of my appointment after my hesitation, then up-charged me. Staff was very rude, not trained and barely spoke English. Defensive and not willing to understand my feelings after being taken advantage of. Unhygienic waxing room, cheap nail polishes/products and ingredients. They are taking advantage of customers. I have been a loyal customer at Cozy Spa for several years. There had been a few little blips along the way where my friends were not treated very nicely, but I still continued to go back. The last time I went in to get a shellac manicure with my friend, my experience was very different. We were rushed in (even though it was only 5:45 and they don't close till 8) and one of the staff hovered over us the entire time we were trying to choose a colour, pressuring my friend in to getting a colour she did not even want. I wanted to get a white shellac done and there were about 7 different whites on the shelf, so I held up a white with a pearl tinge and asked the woman if this would make my nails "white white" and she responded by telling me it would and hurrying me to my seat. After sitting and waiting for 10 minutes for someone to even put foil on my fingers (even though the woman had already begun taking the polish off my friends hands) finally the only other gentleman that works there (not the owner Bryan) began to take the polish off my nails. After the first coat of polish (I was never asked to look at a finger and see if I liked the colour as they usually do), I realized that the colour was in fact pearl itself and not white at all. I stopped the man and asked him if the next coat would make my nails white and he responded no. This is about an hour and 15 minutes into the appointment (an insanely long time for only one coat of shellac to be applied). I let him know that I had asked the woman if it would make my nails white and she responded that it would. I told him not to worry about it and just put white on top of the pearl as white is thick and you wouldnt be able to see through it. After applying the white to my nails, I took my first hand out of the dryer and realized that my nails were cracking and doing something I had never seen before. I asked him to stop and he tried to continue to finish my other hand even though I showed him what was happening. Needless to say, I had two hands with this ridiculous polish on them now and its been about an 1 hour and 45 mins at this point. The owner Bryan comes over and looks at them and they being to speak about whats happening to my nails in front of me but not in english. No one ever tells me what is going on and I am rudely asked by the man who is doing my nails "if I want him to remove it"? Obviously I did as they looked terrible and was very upset as it was nearing the 2 hour mark for a simple shellac manicure at this point. He then proceeds to aggressively take the polish off by destroying my nails instead of letting it soak for a minute and starts scraping at me with a nail file. He continues to file my nails even after i have asked him to stop several times as he had scraped my cuticles raw. I chose another colour and applied it. I asked if Bryan could come and do the other hand as I had to go and the man told me he was busy (there was 1 woman getting someone to do her feet and Bryan doing her hands at the same time) and that i'd have to wait.The entire time he was rude and blamed the scenario on me and my nails looked terrible after 2.5 hours of sitting there (my friend had to wait the entire time, hers took almost as long). I said several times that I was quite upset and not once did he nor Bryan apologize for what happened. At the very end, Bryan "thanked me for my patience" and that's when I lost it. I let him know that I was incredibly disappointed with the way I was treated and that I felt I had been blamed and disrespected the entire time (even though it was not my fault at all). I also told him that no one had even tried to apologize to me after making my friend and I sit there from 5:45- after close and treated us very poorly. I could not believe when the man had the audacity to ask me how I was paying. I told him I was not paying for it and that it was ridiculous he had even asked, that I was a loyal customer who has spent hundreds of dollars here and recommended them to other people and he still gave me a hard time. My friend had to pay for hers which is already ridiculous for how long it took, and I just ended up walking out and telling them they should treat their customers better next time and that we would never be returning. DO NOT EVER GO HERE. THEY DO NOT CARE IF YOU ARE A WALK IN OFF THE STREET OR A LOYAL CUSTOMER OF SEVERAL YEARS, THEY TREAT EVERYONE THE SAME, LIKE SHIT. read more

I went there twice, hoping for a better result the second time - which I didn't get. The plastic tubs for your feet, lined with sheet plastic, just feel weird and unpleasant. There are lovely chairs with attached tubs, but they don't use them. I suppose they would have to sanitize the tub each time and they don't want to do that. So instead, you put your feet in a shallow, quickly-cooling tub of water and wiggle your toes in the plastic wrap. Not a nice feeling. The woman who did my nails disagreed when I asked her to shape my nails square and did them oval instead. Um, I'm paying for the service so I think you can keep your opinion to yourself. I won't go back a third time. It's really too bad because they are so close. However, they have a lot of competition and, if they want to build their business, they need to be friendly to first-time customers (the man at the front was; the women at the back just eye you suspiciously and gab away in another language). read more

I went here for the first time yesterday afternoon. The "spa pedicure" was in a massage chair with my feet soaking in a Rubbermaid basin lined with a plastic bag! Not what you expect for a $30 pedicure on Yonge St.. There was no foot/leg massage, no salt scrub, no lotion on the legs, no hot towel wrap. Just your basic foot soak in a bucket! The individual that did my manicure (same person) did such a poor job. Again, no hand massage, no lotion. No hot soak. When I was finished my nails were misshapen and the cuticles were a peeling dry mess. It took so long for this then I was sent on to the bar for polish. I immediately asked Brian to fix up this mess that I was left with. That took another 30 minutes. I don't know about you, but my time is valuable. Not to mention the meter is running so tack on another $12.50 for parking! When it was all said & done I nearly had a heart attack when the total came to $70! It was the worst pedicure I've had to date. You might want to revisit the definition of "spa" if you are going to call yourself one. I will never return. read more

Gorgeous interior! I went in to get my nails done yesterday and the staff was so polite. The place itself is right on top of the subway line so it was easy to get to and when I went it, I was surprised that it wasn't super busy but that's better for me since there was no waiting time and I was in a bit of a hurry. I always go there to get my nails done and they do a fantastic job! However I decided to try their Brazilian wax and it was SO UNHYGENIC! the lady first of all did not wash her hands before she did my wax AND I only realised half way they her waxing my private area that she was NOT wearing gloves !! on top of that you would not believe she put her hand in her mouth to take out her gum, threw it in the garbage and touched the garbage inside of the bin in an attempt to push all the garbage further down into the garbage bin! and you would not believe I actually had to ask her to please wash her hands before waxing my private area and put on gloves! that was by far the most horrifying disgusting experience I have ever had at a spa. Brian please train your waxing staff to be hygienic . your spa is too beautiful and you are too talented to have these women drag your business down.
