Super positive experience, especially when you're getting recertified for BLS. They are so nice and offer trainings and classes Mon-Sat!

It's a building used for all sorts of businesses, it's not creepy like someone else said. The instructor, A .Tunde Okunuga, MD, was knowledgable and explained things more in depth than any other CPR class I have taken (and I have taken a lot of them), so I appreciated that. He may be a little old-school but he wants to make sure the students know what's going on and are actually comprehending the material. Overall I would take a class here again.

For an A H A CPR recertification - if you are already experienced and have practiced all techniques…read morein a full 3-4 hour CPR class, then this will suffice. It was a super quick 2-hour course and the video and demonstrations were solid; however, the actual hands-on practice was very limited. We did not get our own CPR body to work with, just shared one, and we couldn't blow into the masks. Did not practice at all on infants, but did observe the instructor do the CPR and choking techniques on an infant doll. If you want to learn CPR for the first time, this is not going to meet your needs. But I just took the 3-4 hour Red Cross CPR training a few months ago so I feel like this is all I needed to get the AHA card, required for my new agency that prefers AHA. I bought the book when I registered because I thought it was required to buy a copy. I don't think you need to buy it. Definitely don't buy any of the odd "Take the Test Multiple Times" upgrade, so fishy. The teacher was good, friendly, efficient. He worked around a participant bringing a very active preschooler to class. Patient man, for sure. Bring a hoodie to class as the air conditioner is cold. Nice building, clean and secure. I got free street parking so that was a bonus.

She's an experienced nurse and doesn't hesitate to share the good and bad side to mold us in this career. She teaches so much more than the text book and thats what makes her so unique. She also teaches us in a way that makes it easy to understand the material. I have gained so much knowledge within this short period of time. I'll definitely recommend the school and all. Thank you Ms Candice

Their holistic approach equips you with the know how as well enabling you with the professional compasion to provide exemplary patient care. Their program gave me the credentials needed to land a great job at a physical rehabilitation hospital even though I lacked clinical experience. The program also gave me a complete foundation to build toward an RN-BSN. I would highly recommend the program at Career Training Center of Chicago. It's afforadble - with flexible payment options. It's a concise, concentrated program that will get you quickly into the medical field. It's in depth, high quality, and comprehensive which will put you a cut above other CNAs. And it provides a great foundation to build from if you wish to pursue nursing or other allied health fields. They easily earn 5 stars.

Took the BNAT class about 3 years ago, and let me tell you, I still keep in contact with Sheila…read more(the director of admissions) and Ms. Sanders (theory and clinical instructor). My program was about 2 months long consisting of one month of theory/lab and one month of clinical. It was an amazing experience and I would never second guess the decision I made to enroll at this school. Before the program starts you take an admissions test consisting of basic math and english, physical, etc. My program at the time was $850, and extra $90 for the textbook and workbook. I believe the school sold a package with all the supplies we needed (stethoscope, sphygmomanometer, digital thermometer, etc.) or you can purchase them on my own which I did. Scrubs were also sold at the school with the schools logo, but I opted out and bought my own (for a cheaper price lol). If you were thinking about buying them online or anywhere before your clinical and if they haven't changed it yet, its maroon/burgundy scrub pants and a white scrub top! --Program-- Pros: - My classmates and I were a tight knit, even those who weren't in our clinical group (clinical were split between two groups (10 of us were from 7a-11a and the other 10 did 11a-3p). We still talk to this day - most of us graduated nursing school already! - This program is a great step if you want to get to know your feet wet into the nursing world - it teaches you a lot - The material itself isn't relatively hard - review a little each day and you'll pass those tests with flying colors! - You get amazing experience depending on where your clinical site was (the site for our cohort/batch was at one that was really nice and let us learn a lot) - You never get sent out alone to do things in clinical - you always work in pairs - This is just from personal experience but I had 3 job offers waiting for me at amazing hospitals even BEFORE I finished the program and got certified! (With the help of letters of recommendations from Ms. Sanders of course) - Even after the class ICI offered 3 review sessions before we took the certification exam (our program ended in December and the closest test date was mid January) - I took this program while my other friend was taking it at a competing school - we looked at each others notes, syllabi, and test prep (ICI is far superior at preparing you for your certification exam) Cons: **Theres nothing really horrible about the program but here are just some things to take note of*** - If you're the type of student who doesn't want to participate - Ms. Sanders will definitely call you out on it. (Everyone is there to learn and its better to make a mistake and learn from it during lab rather than clinical!) - Stay on top of assignments and readings - Some clinical placements I've seen from previous cohorts had clinical at some far places. ICI is located in Lincolnwood and depending on your group you might have a site thats 30-40 minutes from the school into the suburbs or into the city. (I suggest you car pool if you can) - But you never rotate clinical sites in this program. You're assigned one facility and stick with that facility during your program. Note: If you want to get on Ms. Sander's good side - she loves coffee with cream and equal :) My classmates/friends would all do coffee runs together during our breaks and always bought one for Ms. Sanders! I definitely recommend this program and sometimes I pop in her lectures just to say hi and give word of advice to her students
