About 10 years ago, I had Tech Mail build my last computer from parts I bought online. It turns out…read morethat Tae used to work at Tech Mail and contacted me about their new location. Unfortunately Tech Mail closed their store on Fort Apache when one of their owners died. My 10-year old computer was slowing down and I wanted a faster one with Windows 11. My old computer was running Windows 10, but it was a retail license. This means that you don't have to pay for upgrading to Windows 11. I received another quote from someone else to build the computer that was higher, so I went with Prime. After all the parts arrived, I took them over to Prime Techcare along with my old computer. There were some issues: 1. The cooler I bought would not fit my old HAF-X case. So Tae suggested that I acquire a new case. So, I ordered the one he recommended off Amazon after researching it. 2. The memory I bought from an eBay seller turned out to be open box. It was listed as new. It would not run at 6400 mhz. without overclocking. My last system lasted 10+ years without any overclocking, so I didn't want anything to be overclocked because things tend to run hotter and it also voids the warranty on some parts. I'm hoping this system will also last at least 10+ years. So, there was a bit of a delay for both of these issues, which was definitely not their fault. You have to be flexible when building a new system. Sometimes even the best parts won't work properly and you will have to initiate a return and order something else. I appreciated their patience and flexibility. When I went to pick up the computer, there was another minor glitch, which was corrected immediately. I was completely satisfied when I left the store with the new computer as to its quality and the price I paid for them to build it. I have been using it every day now for over 3 weeks without any issues.

I said Saigon, and he said the price was $4/lb to send a package to Saigon (more expensive if outside of the city). I mentioned my friend told me they paid $3/lb. He said they must have misremembered, it was $3.5/lb 3 months ago. I had at least 40 lbs in my car, but I didn't think it was worth spending that much $ since I'm flying home in a few months anyways. FYI: Most places charge $2.5/lb in Orange County, CA. I went home and looked up AirTouch on Yelp and didn't find this business. Then I did some research and found this business under a general name "IPhone Repair." I read the reviews, and it seemed like I had the same issues with pricing!!! Once I looked at the Mac that was listed for sale I discovered that the Mac that I had first inquired about would not update to the latest MacOS version. Then they had another unit that was double the original price. They indicated that the more expensive of the two machines would update to the latest OS (which it did) and they also indicated that I could add this machine to my AppleCare One insurance plan so I went ahead and purchased the more expensive unit, I wanted to pay via Credit Card. They told me if I paid on credit they would have to charge me tax ?! They suggested that I use their preferred finance company so I qualified immediately and left the store. When I got home, I phoned Apple and was told that I could only put the machine on the insurance plan if I was the original owner and had proof. I was not the original owner so that was the end of that. Here we are six days after purchase, I went ahead and paid their finance company off so that was one less bill I had to worry over. For the privilege of using their financing I was charged $36 on an agreement that was supposed to be 100 days interest free. I also just discovered the power adapter that they gave with the unit is definitely not Apple OEM parts. Every time I touch the computer, you get a small static electricity type shock because there is no ground wire on the power adapter that they gave me. We are now all in at $1,337 and I have to go to an Apple Store to get the proper adapter which is probably going to be another $100 or so + tax and I may look at getting a new battery put into it. My best guess? I am into a used 2021 MacBook for around $1,500. I would have been better off going directly to Apple and getting a new machine for around the same price. I did call and mention this to the store, they said I would be better off getting new equipment. I asked the lady on the phone if they would be able to offer better pricing than Apple and she said: No, we are retail." I asked her what benefit I got purchasing from them, she remained silent and with that I said "I don't see us doing any future business together" Without saying anything else, she hung up on me. I think this place caters to the Hispanic Community and to folks with no credit or bad credit. My advice to anyone reading this would be to STAY AWAY from Magic Phone.
