Someone finally came to take my order. A table that was seated after me was able to order and get their food before I could even place my order. When the staff was present, the service was great, but it took me a long time to get through this meal and to get out due to all the waiting. Be ready for this if you choose to come here.

There is a romantic, old world quality that I can't express, other than by saying the Spitzel Gebel feels familiar, even as a first time visitor. It feels like a community, even to a stranger. I spoke in the best German I could (I am English but live in the area) and a local man at the bar tried to explain to her as well. However she kept repeating that we had received our drinks and avoided making eye contact with me. After several minutes of this my friend and I left. This soured our experience of what could be a delightful little pub and I doubt I will ever return.
