I was in the area and saw that they sold Stride Rite shoes so I went inside to check out their selection. I thought they had a decent selection of shoes for first walkers and even toddler walkers. The prices were reasonable compared to the other Stride Rite shoes stores. However, there were three associates working at the time that did not pay any attention to me or greeted me as I entered/exited the store. The store is good about service. They measure your foot and have a sales person bring you your shoes. This is not a self serve store. BUT be aware that the shoes are over priced. I bought shoes for a special trip and paid the asking price of $200.00. When I went home I noticed the price on the box was marked in small print 149.00 so i was over charged $50.00. Really makes me not want to shop there ever again and the owners are fine when they are selling but they get an attitude when you are returning. That is bad business. Last time I left a review for this place was 5 years ago. Just went today to get dress shoes for my daughter for her Jr. prom. I drive from Medford to commack just to get good quality and good fitting shoes. The customer service is ALWAYS just as good as it was 36 years ago when I had my first visit. Eric helped us again this time and he is such a helpful, friendly & knowledgeable man. The store is very clean & organized, you won't find loose shoes & boxes sprawled across the floor like some other shoe stores. From the minute we walked in we were greeted & seated and Eric fitted my daughter for the perfect shoe. There shoes are great quality and last for years. I seen on another review someone said that they have high prices. They sell a huge variety of name brand shoes , they don't sell Amazon quality (just to make it through the summer shoes) . They have many different brands at many different prices. They do sell a brand that I seen that was $160 for the shoes but that brand is the known for those prices. I also seen shoes that were $40 dollars. My daughter's dressy silver sequined comfortable heels were only $50 bucks and I can guarantee you she will have them for years. I've paid more for DSW shoes than I have ever at craft shoes. Customer service is wonderful!!! read more

Waited till 11:10am to give them a call as several people were waiting outside for the 11am opening. Whoever answered the phone seemed bothered that I called to see if they were going to open. Gave such an attitude it was crazy. They finally slammed open the door didn't say hello to any of the customers waiting. Got into the store and got completely ignored for ten minutes. Walked past me 3 times to help others. I will not give a place like this a penny of my money. Sad that in times like this businesses act like this towards customers. The staff here is incredibly rude and nasty - especially the two older men. Walked in and one said "good morning" to which I responded but he was too busy talking to himself so I guess he didn't hear me. Then another man came to say good morning and the first guy told him not to speak to us because we don't answer. First of all, who treats customers like that. Very nice old school shoe place. My mother has serious mobility issues right now, it even took about 15 minutes to get in the store, but they found some nice clogs for her to fit given she has a tough time with bending down, they brought a chair in front so she didn't have far to go. I was very appreciative of their attention and consideration. I will be there for my next pair of dress shoes. Thank you craft shoes. Rating 0 stars. My 80 year old mom went there today to get shoes because her feet have Terrible bunions and other problems. Her feet are painful and it's very hard to find shoes. So she went to craft. The owner or one of the men there was incredible rude and nasty to her. My daughter was there and they had to leave because he was so rude, because none of the shoes he brought out worked. I will never ever go to that store and will tell everyone I know and work with about this experience. She is all upset now. Awful just awful!!!! read more

I don't go here often--the prices are reasonable, but by no means the best on Long Island. This is the store I count on, though, when I need my shoes to be PERFECT. I bought my shoes for my wedding day here--no mean feat, because I'm only an inch shorter than my husband and needed a low heel in a pretty, comfortable, formal bridal shoe. Now I'm heading back there to find shoes for my sister's wedding--another challenge, because again, I need a low heel in a formal shoe, and it has to be comfortable enough for me to safely carry my children around wearing, but pretty enough to show off under my tea-length dress. The gentlemen at this store are attentive, knowledgable about their ENORMOUS stock, and are willing to take the time to give you individual attention and find the shoe that's perfect for you. They'll even MAKE them perfect for you if they aren't; they "walked" my wedding shoes a couple of miles on a machine they've got in the back to break them in for me before I had to wear them. If you need a basic, easy-to-find pair of shoes, no need to stop in here. But if you want to feel like Cinderella, finding the shoe that was made for you...this is the store for you! read more

The staff at Craft Shoes are professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Neal offered suggestions regarding different selections of boots and also greatly assisted in Wedding shoes. I have been to Craft shoes on many occasions and I have found the staff ( family owned as well) delightful. They provide the consumer with coupons and upcoming events regarding the sales of certain running and workout shoes. The store has been in business for years and this shoe store is one of the few that take the time to measure both feet and offer appropriate padding if needed. There is a certain amount of individual attention at Craft Shoes that is non existing in most shoe departments. The big difference is that Craft Shoes is one of the very few special places the consumer can visit with confidence and a pleasant staff. It is a most pleasant experience. read more

Nastiest people I have ever dealt with!!! When asked if shoes came in ivory the boy gave me a nasty answer. He said if you're not sure than don't buy the shoes. When asked the return policy he said don't buy them if you don't know. We then said well we want to make sure they match the wedding dress and he said then go shop some where else and that's what online is for. So we proceeded to walk out and said we will not be treated with this disrespect and he said so don't and get out. What a disgrace! I will never step foot in here again. Privately owned shoe store located on Jericho Tpke, Commack, NY that provides individual service. They recently moved into their beautiful newly redesigned and larger space in the same building. The owners are senior citizens and the employees are of all ages. They are a well known and beloved family in the community. Employees measure both feet, help you chose shoes that are comfortable, stylish and suitable for the occasion. You sit, and they bring the stock to you. The old fashioned way. Prices are moderate to higher depending on the brand. Their prices are just about the same as what I find online in current models (New Balance, for example). They carry sneakers, boots, slippers, and dress shoes for men, women and kids, plus related stuff like shoe and bag dying I have an orthopedic problem in both feet. I have difficulty walking. I wear a double wide, and everyplace else I go I find only orthopedic looking styles. I've found shoes to go with my gown for two weddings this year. I purchased a pair of shoes for my mother, a senior citizen, in February of 2014. The shoes hurt her feet and were exchanged in April of 2014. The second pair was also painful, and they were returned in June. I did not receive paperwork for the return, but a sales slip was prepared for a third pair of shoes. The third pair never arrived. I requested a refund, and was offered half the price of the original pair of shoes. After two more visits, I gave up on trying to get service. At this point, the money is not the important issue. I merely want to register this complaint. I have been a customer there for many years and have spent a great deal of money. I was not given any satisfaction with this problem. read more

I've gone to this store since I was a little kid. They always had the hard to find shoes and in my size. These guys actually know shoes and want to help you out, just because they are old doesn't mean a thing, shops like this are hard to find these days and are not as common as they used to be. There way of doing business is a art form, not some bs corporate model with workers who don't know anything. You might pay a little more then some of the discount places and you might pay less but the important thing is that you are getting your monies worth, supporting a great local business that is part of your community. Great place to go for those with hard to find sizes or have issues with thier feet. Large selection of comfort shoes. Staff is way experienced...knows how to find the right shoe size and style for your foot issues. Also has a very large selection of dyable shoes---not super pricey like some of those shops in Woodbury. If you're a fashion diva-you're best to shop of Niemans, Bloomies or Nordstrom. If you need the best walking shoes with some style for your 10W foot or because you have bunions...this is a great place. Even if you have a problem getting a good fit for kids shoes, this place is really good too.
