I've been here a couple of times and believe I will love it forever. Firstly they have a craft menu! Yay! A whole list of stuff to create, cut & paste and cover in glitter. Prices start at just a few dollars and cover a whole load of messiness levels. Second major plus is the yumo food. Food is great for grown ups as well as little mouths. from cupcakes to smashed avo on toast, there is something for everyone. Had a BLAST at Crafternoon! I wasn't feeling particularly inspired but I have badge making ago and came home with a badge/bottle opener I was pretty proud of! The food was good. Not the greatest, but definitely good. Good serving sizes and great customer service. There's really not much more you could ask for if you're looking for a chill, fun, yummy afternoon brunch. I had an fun morning at Crafternoon, although our meals took a very long time to come and and all came out separately with large gaps in between, hence the 3 star rating. Having said that though, the food was great (I had Dani's bfast special), as was the strawberry milkshake I followed it up with as I was still hungry after the long wait and small portion - the bacon in particular could've been a more generous serve! Once fed though we had a great time making crafts - I made a badge which I love and will probably wear quite often (although the pin was put on sideways, oops!) and my friends also made badges, played with playdough (which oddly you can't take home, unlike everything else) and made jewellery boxes. Definitely recommend it for those who'd like a quick trip back to childhood days of playing with the craft box. read more

Crafternoon combines two of my favourite things, drawing and stuffing my face full of delicious food. I've pulled out a sketchbook in plenty of cafes and bars and doodled away before, but it's great to go somewhere that this sort of behaviour is actively encouraged. Every table has a selection of coloured pencils and crayons to go along with the paper provided with every menu. This isn't just any menu either, alongside the food and drinks you will find an assortment of different craft activities that you can take part in while eating. You can paint, create all sorts of crafty goodies, make badges (using pictures from the bookshelf full of kids books and magazines) and much, much more. Last time we visited here it was early Sunday morning and we were greeted by the very friendly staff and quickly served our coffees. Breakfast was soon ordered for all and brought out to us nice and quickly, and it was delicious too! I ordered the Morning Feast, which was perfectly sized to get me through the remainder of the morning and the other meals at our table looked equally as great too. Another great bonus is that even though there are usually a few kids in here, they're all far too occupied with the crafty fun to make a sound. Sometimes that's the case with me here too. read more

This was the second time I've been here and it was a great experience! First time round was a good 12 months ago and we had the full craft experience - painting, badges, cards and it was awesome. This time round we headed in for breakfast and the craft was an added bonus. We were greeted by the lovely Dani (spelling?). She was super friendly and gave us quick service with a smile. I ordered the Dani's breakfast which was veggie and super delicious. Serving sizes were good and prices were very reasonable. We all got given paper and pencils to draw and everyone took advantage of the tools provided and drew some masterpieces (ok maybe not all were masterpieces!). We will absolutely be back to enjoy more tasty treats and craft fun! The décor is really cool and the floor is covered with magazine cut outs and there is just so much to look at. You could easily waste away a morning or afternoon with friends, family or kids (preferably not kids! lol) read more

I stopped in with my wife and we were greeted with a huge welcoming smile. We sipped our delicious coffee and tea while doodling on the white paper placed in front of us. I loved the decor, especially the collage on the ground. Next time we'll try some food. read more

I'm reluctant to write this review, because I don't want this place to get too popular and lose it's relaxed vibe, but here goes- This is one of the most unpretentious and inviting cafes on the north side (or the entire city?)! Top marks for the welcoming attitude of the staff and the amazing scrambled eggs! Oh, the coffee's great too. And it's $2 takeaway coffee this week- bonus! My new local cafe, hands down. read more
