The Cortese employee showed up today anyway and said he had never gotten a message and that he would have to charge us $45 if he left (a fee I could find nowhere on their website). My husband told him to go ahead and do the free estimate then, and the price he quoted us ended up being 2-3x the other two quotes we received. Unlike the other estimates, this one also did not include any stump grinding. At best, the office communication needs to be improved. At worst, this was a dishonest sales gimmick. Either way, I would be leery about hiring this company to do work on my property.
