We love Craig's BBQ! We take I40 across country whenever we drive, just to stop there for lunch. The funky decor is wonderful, and so is the food. It's always packed when we get there but somehow we've always found a table. We always get the pork BBQ sandwich, love the cole slaw in it. Once they had buttermilk pie from the pie shop across the street, and it was to die for. A couple of times we've found the pie shop open. Once we got fried pies and ate them later on in Memphis; a bit greasy but good. Another time we got a piece of pie and ate it there (one piece was plenty for both of us.) We went by there to have dinner after work on 6-14-19. I know it's reputation and I had been there a few years ago and it had been good, not impressive, but good. Unfortunately this trip was AWFUL, first- the pork was sliced, which was ok, however, when you smoke meat it has a smoke ring on it, this pork had none and there was no Smokey flavor , second, all I could taste was the Vinegar which was so strong it burned my mouth. Total waste of money and I wondered why all the vinegar, was it old meat and they were trying to cover the old taste up? I live locally so it wasn't that far to go but if I'd have driven from , say, Little Rock, I would have been highly upset. read more

There's BBQ and then there's Craig's. I've had BBQ in Memphis at all the "best" places, same with Texas and everywhere else and none of them stack up to this place. Get the sliced pork sandwich with slaw on it and you'll wish you had ordered another. This place has so much character and history that it's worth the stop. Also, get the chocolate pie. read more

To many, BBQ is BBQ. They'll say, "It's all the same, man. Pull my pork, smoke my meat. Gimme something new!" Well, take it from us. There is a world of difference when it comes to that soggy bun and that perch of slaw. The joy is in the little touches. The family secrets are what create a real barbecue experience. Craig don't skimp, baby. Now, be ready for the backroad detour and if it's night time you may be a little confused if you've never seen a small town before. However, let's be real. If you get turned around just come the way you came and you will most likely just order again because this place is amazing. The dinners are super cheap and according to Kole, getting the ribs is worth getting barbecue stains on your shirt. We'll see if he washes them out or not. Fingers crossed stinky boi. None of us got the burger and opted for the beef and pork sandwiches with chips. I can't believe what just happened in my mouth. I've never had such tangy sauce. It is a truly unique flavor pallet and possibly the one thing we truly love about Arkansas now. The ladies met us warmly when we rolled up, there was a cop out front keeping the BBQ safe from pork thieves, and on the way out a sign was posting when and where to get your flu shot. A great hole-in-the-wall southern barbecue joint. Pulled pork is fantastic with just the right amount of tanginess in the sauce. Don't let the outside stop you from going inside, I've eaten here several times and it is always great. Worth the drive from I-40 if you are going from Little Rock to Memphis. Mary's pie shop across the street is worth a stop, but they close at 5 and aren't open on Sunday. If you are going to Devalls Bluff you need to choose between catfish at Murray's or barbecue at Craig's. Just stop for one or the other. read more

Traveled in from Oklahoma on the way east. Needed a good place to eat. Very good BBQ. Great chopped beef and pulled pork sandwich. Slaw was sweet style and very good too. Must get baked beans!! Friendly and fast. If you're hungry get two sandwiches as that will fill you up! read more

I wish I could give this place 10 stars instead of 5 because that's just how good the "sliced" BBQ pork sandwich is. The consensus among my friends and I who have eaten here is that they either love or hate the BBQ sandwich. I LOVE IT. This is the only food dish that I literally salivate over and look forward to each time I make the trek through Arkansas on I-40. The BBQ sandwich is a uniquely "sliced" pork drenched in a cinnamon BBQ sauce (i prefer medium or hot version). The meat is then topped with an apple-wood coleslaw that is vinegar-based. The bun is simple enough to let the awesome flavors of the meat, sauce, and coleslaw seep through. It's truly my favorite meat dish in America!!!!!!! You must make the 10 minute de-tour off of I-40 to hit this "Dive". I wish the show "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" would visit this place. It's a gem! read more

DeVall's Bluff literally has a population of maybe a thousand people max. And its a little bit off the major freeway. Fortunately, I had a friend, who used to live in the area, recommend a stop at Craig's. The barbeque sandwich here smells amazing and comes fully drenched in sauce. I eat BBQ all over the South. This is probably my favorite-really a tough decision with all the good ones around here. It is definitely in my top 3. I am currently in the Air Force and travel quite a bit. I have had BBQ from the corners, and yet Craigs still sits #1 on my list. I come home once a year and I eat Craigs as much as possible, hell I even buy a few pounds and bring it back to North Carolina. I have to show these North Carolineans what real BBQ is. As we speak my father is sending me some of their sauce. So if you ever get a chance I would recommend this place to anyone. You will definatly miss out on a very good meal!!!! read more

Worst excuse for Bar-B-Que ever tasted!! Sauce is terrible. Service is bad, food is worse. Never darken their door again!!!!
