I happened to patronize The Grainery on a day that they had made chicken and dumplings! I felt like I had won the gastronomical lottery! Not only was the food delicious, but also a massive serving. Along with the dumplings came some nicely seasoned green beans. Unfortunately they were out of cornbread, so I had to settle for store-bought bread. At least they had real butter for my bread. For dessert, I greatly enjoyed an apple cake creation. There were nicely sized chunks of flavorful apples embedded within the cake. The double shot espresso that I had with my dessert was a very generous pour. I'm impressed that they now offer customer loyalty punch cards for their caffeinated concoctions. The front door to the restaurant doesn't close completely. This is a real gem of an eatery, and I plan on returning as often as possible.
