Come to Craig Johnson's to get belittled! Yes folks, that's right, if you like unprofessional lawyers with a knack for sharp tongues and who make you feel worthless, this is your primary destination. Like being talked down to? As if you know nothing, like a child learning right from wrong? Come on in, he's waiting for you.
Yeah....that's what i thought, not really your cup of tea right? Johnson, after reviewing our housing contract and coldly dismissing the explanations of my fiance and I which, while they may not have had explicit legal representation in said contract, were based on emotions and anger we felt toward the people we were buying the property from. Johnson doesn't deal in emotions, unless you count making people feel like they can't read proper English. It wasn't what he said, it was his tone and condescending demeanor that made it worse. Upon my fiance explaining our story and what we were told by the owners of the property, we were rudely rebuffed by the following statement: yep the caps are on purpose. "I'M TELLIN' YOU WHAT YOU SIGNED!! I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO TELL YOU!! if you don't get the terms from your lender and they don't correspond to the purchase contract, that's a risk you take as a purchaser. ... look, I don't care if they told you your grandmother was good looking, being told something is one thing, putting it in writing is another... if you don't have the terms in writing, that's too bad."
Now I'm not sure if he talks to everyone this way who just happens to be a new home buyer realizing they had put themselves in a tough spot. I knew the spot we were in before I stepped into his office. I came there wanting confirmation of what I had read in the contract . I got it all right; loud and proud from someone who, clearly, had far too much ego and not any time to be polite.. Talking to us as if we were complete fools who had told Johnson the world was flat and the sky was green, that's unacceptable. You know, that sort of, "are you idiots, can't you read?"" type of tone. The kind that makes you look down at the floor sheepishly wondering why you came in the first place. The kind that a parent uses when they scold their offspring for taking the car when he knew perfectly well he should have been studying his lessons.
Fortunately, we only had to pay a modest fee for our ordeal. Still it was a fee that was hard to pay. I kind of felt like the dog who has just eaten the entire chocolate cake and is hanging his head saying, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done it." But in this man there was only distaste and disgust that he had to have his precious time taken up by two people who Obviously should have known better.
So in summary, fellow seekers of "the truth," you'll find it here encased in arrogant egotism laced with more than a hint of annoyance. Yep, I knew what I had signed alright, I can read a contract. Thanks for making us feel stupid, can't wait to be berated again. Should I somehow feel the need to have my intelligence insulted, I know who I can count on. read more
