I was guided every step of the way and made to feel very comfortable. Everyone was very patient with me and kept answering my questions until I understood what was going to happen. Everything explained was exactly what happened. Very minimal scarring - If you ever need thyroid surgery, Dr. Shifrin is the surgeon you want to do it!

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Shifrin and his entire staff. I had a large nodule that…read morewas pushing up against my windpipe and making it difficult to swallow. After my needle biopsy showed a positive reading naturally I was very nervous. I got in to see Dr. Shifrin within a week of the biopsy results to come up with a game plan. I'm on blood thinners so it makes for a complicated case. He did another ultrasound on it to confirm the size and he thought its in my best interest to remove the whole thing instead of half bc if the surgical biopsy came back positive then I would have to go back in and remove the other side. With me being on blood thinners for life it would be dangerous to stop again so that's what we did. Leading up to the day of surgery I kept in contact with Amy C who coordinated all my visits and paperwork. She was awesome! She took all my nervous calls and calmed me down every time. Post surgery I was swelling up pretty good so I reached out to Amy who then connected my with Tara the PA. She got right back to me in between their scheduled surgeries and saw me to look at the swelling. She and Dr. Shifrin both met up with me and did another ultrasound to make sure there was no fluid build up in my neck. After they saw me they went back to their next scheduled surgery. Tara followed up with me for the next couple of days to see how I was doing. The pathology report came in within a week and it was positive for papillary cancer. Tara called me again to go over it and was very compassionate and calmed me down. I just had my 2 week follow up with both Dr. Shifrin and PA Tara Corrigan and they were pleased to tell me that all the cancer was removed and I'm free of it now. My family and I thank everyone there for walking with us through this tough scary journey. If you're shopping around for a thyroid surgeon and happened on this review please take my word and come see them. You wont regret it!

The IVF journey can be incredibly challenging, but Dr. Peña stands out as a doctor who truly puts…read morepatients at ease. Whenever I send him a detailed list of questions via email, he takes the time to call me personally--often within just a few days--to discuss everything thoroughly and address my concerns. He's exceptionally well-versed in the latest medical literature, which became clear whenever I asked about aspects of my treatment plan. Dr. Peña is honest and, at times, very direct and blunt. His straightforward approach gives a clear, realistic picture of what to expect, without false hope or unnecessary sugarcoating. Thanks to his care, I've had strong results from both my egg retrievals and FET. RMA as a whole operates like a well-oiled machine: prompt phone calls with results, clear email instructions for next steps, and virtually no unnecessary delays. I chose Dr. Peña at the RMA East Patchogue location, but the flexibility to complete most of my lab work at closer RMA offices in other locations has been a huge convenience. I'm truly grateful for the compassionate, expert care I've received--it's made all the difference on this journey.

Let me start by saying, there is no peace of mind with this place…read more I also want to add that my husband and I are expecting our first child in two weeks :) - but not with any help from RMA and if anything they completely delayed our process and pumped my body full of hormones I did not need. The stress that this clinic caused us from their disorganization has done us more harm than good going through multiple rounds of IUI. Every single treatment I have had done, the clinic had communicated wrong info, or even worse - failed to communicate important info, forgot to contact us to take medication that is timely, or the nurses across the board gave conflicting info. Countless times, I was not followed up with for prescriptions needing to be called in, which was the most stressful since our insurance is paying all types of money for treatments that are "more successful" when medicated. So you can imagine how it felt when we realized at night that the staff forgot to call a script in or didn't follow up - we were left feeling like these treatments were all for nothing. Some context + examples on our situation - My husband and I both have no known fertility issues after having done all testing. We blindly tried getting pregnant for a year (no fertility strips and sporadically) before going to this clinic, and I regret jumping the gun. My first IUI, I tested low in my progesterone so they prescribed it to me. When we went to pick it up, the prescription cost $600 for one months worth. I tried calling the office, but no answer. Since it was something I needed to take immediately that night, we had to purchase it. When I called the office the next day, they said it was "no problem" for them to call in the $15 prescription. I'm not sure why they didn't call that one in first.. they told me also I could have called the after hours line.. but I was never given that information. After a few failed IUI's, I told the doctor we wanted to take a step back and go back to trying naturally.. and she strongly advised against it. She ended up swaying us back into rounds of IUI, and strongly pushing IVF ASAP if not. My husband and I left the office not feeling great about it. In that same appointment, I told the doctor I did not want to take the progesterone anymore because of the way it was making me feel. She said I could test my levels again, which ended up coming back totally normal.. so I never really needed the progesterone in the first place. On that note, I had to come back into the clinic a few times for other tests that were "read wrong" by the nurses. Ultimately, our doctor kept pushing us for IVF treatments.. which we definitely did not need. The main objectives of the doctors here are to MAKE MONEY OFF OF YOU. Remember that going into clinic's like this. My husband and I are extremely local to the area and both grew up here. We personally know 4 separate couples who went through IUI / IVF with this clinic - ALL who have since left on bad terms and NOT gotten pregnant. This clinic used to be great *apparently*, but I would not trust them with your time or insurance money. In the end, we got pregnant naturally without their help. Which is funny because the doctor told me I would not get pregnant without IVF - even though we had no known fertility issues. It makes me sick to my stomach they do this to people.
