I was very impressed with my experience at RMALI in east patchogue. Dr Pena and the staff were welcoming and efficient. Dr. Pena was very thorough and took the time to listen to my concerns. He explained my treatment plan clearly and made sure I understood everything. I felt like I was in great hands from the very first consult. Morning monitoring was always quick, easy and well organized. If I ever had a question or concern,I could email him at any time and he would respond quickly with a phone call. Forever grateful for the care I received! read more

The IVF journey can be incredibly challenging, but Dr. Peña stands out as a doctor who truly puts patients at ease. Whenever I send him a detailed list of questions via email, he takes the time to call me personally--often within just a few days--to discuss everything thoroughly and address my concerns. He's exceptionally well-versed in the latest medical literature, which became clear whenever I asked about aspects of my treatment plan. Dr. Peña is honest and, at times, very direct and blunt. His straightforward approach gives a clear, realistic picture of what to expect, without false hope or unnecessary sugarcoating. Thanks to his care, I've had strong results from both my egg retrievals and FET. RMA as a whole operates like a well-oiled machine: prompt phone calls with results, clear email instructions for next steps, and virtually no unnecessary delays. I chose Dr. Peña at the RMA East Patchogue location, but the flexibility to complete most of my lab work at closer RMA offices in other locations has been a huge convenience. I'm truly grateful for the compassionate, expert care I've received--it's made all the difference on this journey. read more

Dr. Pena and his entire team have been an incredible source of support during one of the most challenging journeys of our lives. IVF is not an easy road -- emotionally, physically, or mentally -- but from the very beginning, we felt informed, cared for, and truly supported every step of the way. Dr. Pena takes the time to explain options thoroughly and thoughtfully, including discussing pathways such as embryo adoption, which made us feel empowered and never pressured. He approaches care with both expertise and compassion, which makes all the difference when navigating something as personal as fertility treatment. What also stood out to us was how included my husband felt throughout the entire process. So often fertility care can feel focused on one partner, but Dr. Pena and his staff made sure we both felt heard, involved, and respected as equal parts of the journey. The office staff deserves special recognition as well. They are kind, organized, and incredibly responsive -- emails and phone calls are returned quickly, which provides so much reassurance during an already stressful time. Knowing we could reach someone and get timely answers eased a lot of anxiety. We are deeply grateful for the care we received and would highly recommend Dr. Pena and his team to anyone navigating fertility challenges. Their professionalism, compassion, and responsiveness truly set them apart. read more
Let me start by saying, there is no peace of mind with this place. I also want to add that my husband and I are expecting our first child in two weeks :) - but not with any help from RMA and if anything they completely delayed our process and pumped my body full of hormones I did not need. The stress that this clinic caused us from their disorganization has done us more harm than good going through multiple rounds of IUI. Every single treatment I have had done, the clinic had communicated wrong info, or even worse - failed to communicate important info, forgot to contact us to take medication that is timely, or the nurses across the board gave conflicting info. Countless times, I was not followed up with for prescriptions needing to be called in, which was the most stressful since our insurance is paying all types of money for treatments that are "more successful" when medicated. So you can imagine how it felt when we realized at night that the staff forgot to call a script in or didn't follow up - we were left feeling like these treatments were all for nothing. Some context + examples on our situation - My husband and I both have no known fertility issues after having done all testing. We blindly tried getting pregnant for a year (no fertility strips and sporadically) before going to this clinic, and I regret jumping the gun. My first IUI, I tested low in my progesterone so they prescribed it to me. When we went to pick it up, the prescription cost $600 for one months worth. I tried calling the office, but no answer. Since it was something I needed to take immediately that night, we had to purchase it. When I called the office the next day, they said it was "no problem" for them to call in the $15 prescription. I'm not sure why they didn't call that one in first.. they told me also I could have called the after hours line.. but I was never given that information. After a few failed IUI's, I told the doctor we wanted to take a step back and go back to trying naturally.. and she strongly advised against it. She ended up swaying us back into rounds of IUI, and strongly pushing IVF ASAP if not. My husband and I left the office not feeling great about it. In that same appointment, I told the doctor I did not want to take the progesterone anymore because of the way it was making me feel. She said I could test my levels again, which ended up coming back totally normal.. so I never really needed the progesterone in the first place. On that note, I had to come back into the clinic a few times for other tests that were "read wrong" by the nurses. Ultimately, our doctor kept pushing us for IVF treatments.. which we definitely did not need. The main objectives of the doctors here are to MAKE MONEY OFF OF YOU. Remember that going into clinic's like this. My husband and I are extremely local to the area and both grew up here. We personally know 4 separate couples who went through IUI / IVF with this clinic - ALL who have since left on bad terms and NOT gotten pregnant. This clinic used to be great *apparently*, but I would not trust them with your time or insurance money. In the end, we got pregnant naturally without their help. Which is funny because the doctor told me I would not get pregnant without IVF - even though we had no known fertility issues. It makes me sick to my stomach they do this to people. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Pena and the entire team at RMA throughout our IVF journey. Dr. Pena was attentive and very responsive from the very beginning. Anytime I had a question or concern, he would get back to me very quickly -- either by email or a phone call -- which made such a stressful process feel much more reassuring and supported. All of the nurses and staff at RMA were so friendly, kind, and welcoming throughout the experience, especially Marylou. She was so caring and compassionate every step of the way and truly made me feel comfortable during the process. After more than five years of infertility, I can finally say I'm pregnant -- and I owe so much of that to Dr. Pena and the incredible team at RMA IVF. From the very beginning, Dr. Pena was compassionate, thorough, and genuinely invested in our journey. After my second embryo transfer, he personally called me after hours to check in, review my care plan, and make sure I felt comfortable with the next steps. That level of dedication and accessibility meant more than I can put into words. The nursing staff was equally amazing. They answered every single one of my (many!) questions with patience and kindness. No concern ever felt "too small," and I was never made to feel anxious or silly. The entire team was consistently optimistic, encouraging, and welcoming -- which makes such a difference when you're navigating something as emotional as infertility. RMA IVF created an environment where I felt supported, informed, and genuinely cared for. After years of heartbreak, they helped give us hope again -- and now, our miracle. read more

It only seems fitting that I write my review of Dr Peña and RMA on the 1 year anniversary of my initial consultation with him, 12.5 weeks pregnant. My husband and I did not have a clue what the process of IVF entailed. We originally went to see Dr Peña because I was a carrier for a genetic mutation and we simply wanted to get some information regarding the IVF process to determine if we should move forward naturally as planned or consider IVF. Dr Peña initial consultation and exam was so thorough, he picked up on additional issues that my OBGYN missed or failed to test for. Because of his thoroughness, we found out IVF may be our only option to having a child, as time was not on our side. I underwent 2 egg retrievals and 2 embryo transfers in a span of 8 months. Melissa, his coordinator, helped shepherd me along in the process. His nurse staff, especially Jess and Alexis, were incredible to work with. I always had a ton of questions, and they took the time to answer them or find the answer for me. There was a time when I got frustrated with the process (IVF is a waiting game between steps, and I am very much impatient). I emailed Dr Peña my concerns and he called me within 10 minutes and stayed on the phone with me until all of my questions and concerns were addressed. I have never had that experience with a doctor before, where I could get on the phone with them immediately and not feel rushed. Dr Peña was always honest with us throughout the process. He adjusted protocols when needed. He told me how he felt my body responded to each one. We had a plan and executed it. Now, I am happily pregnant, and waiting for the day I can send him a picture of the baby he helped create. read more

We chose Dr. Pena and his team at RMA LI IVF from a recommendation. The convenience of multiple locations to be able to go to for morning blood monitoring made a very uncomfortable experience a little easier. Big shout out to Melissa, Alexis and Jessica for being a great support system. If I ever had a questions about my medications or updates with my results I called the service or sent an email and heard back right away. This entire process is difficult, there's no way around that. However Dr. Pena and the RMA team made it a little easier. We are now 6 weeks pregnant and are incredibly grateful everyday. read more

I took some time to fully digest my experience of donating eggs at this location before writing a review. I want to warn other donors to be cautious before making this decision. During the approval process I encountered a minor situation where blood samples were lost and they had to redraw my blood. I was told this was a mistake and it doesn't usually happen. I continued with the process thinking this was just a fluke. Once approved, I was chosen pretty quickly for a fresh egg donation. They expect you to be pretty independent when learning to inject yourself which was fine. The needle sticks were surprisingly the least of my concerns (I thought this would be the worst of it). I tried to be diligent and ask questions before signing the paperwork. They reassured me that the procedure has little to no down time and there would be a nurse on call at all times. I was told over the counter pain medication would be more than enough, but if the pain continues they can provide something else. I requested my medical records and in multiple instances, they sent me someone else's charts along with mine by mistake. My medical waste container they provided also had someone else's name on it. This is a privacy concern that should be addressed. During the injections I experienced some side effects including tenderness and soreness. The egg donor contact blew off these symptoms and told me they're unrelated to the fertility drugs. I insisted that they started after the injections and she reluctantly set up an appointment for me to see a nurse. The nurse told me this was normal with fertility drugs (contradicting what the egg donor program told me). She told me this is what I signed up for and if I stop now I won't get to help a family or get paid. Overall, it just seems like the egg donor program gets annoyed when you raise concerns and tries to gaslight you. Now, the actual donation. You essentially feel like you're in an assembly line. The doctor and anesthesiologist were very nice, but the nurses seemed to be trained to be quite dismissive to keep the surgery line moving. They had me call my husband to pick me up the literal second I opened my eyes from anesthesia. I woke up from my surgery in extreme pain. I communicated this to the on staff nurses multiple times and amongst many rude comments the nurse said "Stand up and get dressed. I'm not going to pick you up". My contract stated I would stay in recovery until I could eat and urinate. I could do neither and they essentially escorted me out of the recovery room before I could even speak full sentences from the pain I was in. On top of all this, the surgeries are scheduled for the weekend. There is no staff in the main office on the weekend (only the on-call nurse). I took over the counter medication as advised and had absolutely no relief. I was in so much pain that I couldn't even speak at times. I called the "on call" nurse number and no one answered the phone or gave me a call back. When the staff arrived to the office the following week they refused to believe my level of pain and told me my symptoms are not typical. After research online my symptoms were very typical of hyper stimulation which they refused to recognize and treat due to the medications they put me on so they can get the most eggs possible. I told them my weight changed by over 10 lbs within one week of the surgery and after they read my chart and weighed me again they just scuffed and documented in my chart that I complained of weight gain instead of listing it as a finding they confirmed. My weight still hasn't decreased from this procedure. Finally, I asked to speak to my doctor because my contract states I can and should seek medical treatment at a RMA facility if side effects arise. They did not put me in contact with the doctor who performed my surgery but rather an offsite doctor that's in another location and his secretary kept rescheduling the appointment to which I eventually said forget it. I am at a loss of words about this experience and just hope no one else goes through this. read more

I have been going to RMA for years now and I cannot express how well they have treated me. I've gone to Melville and garden city and both teams have been amazing to me. Both offices have been knowledgeable and very friendly for me. One of the nurses in garden city is always talking to me and asking about how my life is going. I forgot her name but she makes me feel relaxed and comfortable. I had switch from Melville to garden city because of my doctor. When I first started coming I had Dr Dicken. At first she was great and she was very informative. I did two IUI's, which the second one unfortunately led to an ectopic pregnancy and I had to go get my one working fallopian tube surgically removed. When I was in and out of the hospital, it didn't feel like she was trying to see what was going on. Her and I were going back and forth with emails and she was stating just was in good hands at Good Samaritan. After 3 visitors at Good Samaritan and some medication, my ectopic pregnancy didn't go down like they thought it would and I had to get surgery. After switching to Dr McAvey, everything has been smooth sailing and been very positive. Yeah, I haven't seen her that much, but I did have to come early in the morning for blood work and sonogram so I knew she wouldn't be there when I had that stuff happen. There also was a few times here I had to get my sono done at garden city, and it wasn't her. Which I did think was a bit odd. The nurses have been good to me. I highly suggest going to Dr McAvey for your fertility journey. She's been nothing but amazing read more

After experiencing two heartbreaking miscarriages, my husband and I were anxious but hopeful when we chose to see Dr. Pena at RMA. From our very first consultation, he made an impression with his personable, funny, and laid-back demeanor. His ability to connect with us instantly put us at ease, and his honesty about the process was refreshing--he doesn't sugarcoat things, which I appreciated immensely. But he also gave us hope, which is what I was looking for in my doctor. The journey was lengthy, but every step was worth the wait. Dr. Pena's thoroughness and patience shone through in how he approached my care. He discovered that I had some polyps that could hinder the implantation process and made sure I saw my OB/GYN to have those taken care of before proceeding. His commitment to ensuring I had the best chances possible meant so much to me; success is clearly his goal. The staff at RMA is incredible. I frequently emailed the team with every possible question that entered my mind, and Daisy, Alexis, and Elizabeth were always extremely prompt and helpful, making communication seamless. Early morning office visits were convenient, and I appreciated how easy it was to get in touch with everyone involved in my care. Dr. Pena's team ensured that I understood all the necessary procedures and always provided detailed instructions, including follow-ups on my blood results and medication directions. I felt constantly monitored and supported throughout the entire process. During the retrieval and transfer, the staff made me feel comfortable and right at home, which was so comforting. Everyone always had a positive attitude, and that truly rubbed off on me, making me feel like everything was going to work out for us. I loved the unique touch of having pineapples in the Patchogue office--such a fun and welcoming detail! The financial department was another highlight; we went through this process using self-pay, and everyone was incredibly helpful in navigating the financial aspects of treatment. I genuinely feel fortunate to have chosen RMA over other fertility practices. While the multiple office locations can be a bit confusing, every single person I encountered was amazing and dedicated to providing the best care possible. I also want to highlight the pharmacy, Prima, used by the practice. Although it's a different part of the organization, they were fantastic! The convenience of being able to place orders via text and have my medications delivered made my life so much easier, especially during such a stressful time. In summary, I can't recommend Dr. Pena and the entire RMA team enough. Their support and dedication have made a world of difference, and I feel beyond grateful to have had such a positive experience during a challenging time. read more

Dr. Pena and his staff are organized, responsive and attentive. Our fertility coordinator Melissa was outstanding, answering all our emails, never making us feel like we were bothering her, and keeping us on track to hit all deadlines/requirements. Our IVF nurse Alexis was spectacular, displaying one of the best bedside manners I had ever seen, making every visit a pleasant experience. Dr. Pena himself was fantastic, he is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and responsive. 1 star bc it won't let me leave 0. Very poor experience at RMA. I had my eggs frozen two years ago and I knew then I didn't like them. I guess I should've found it odd that my care team kept quitting. They sent my prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy and then I still had to pay for them because I was about to complete the procedure. I continued with Dr. zinger because they have my eggs and even that isn't enough to make me stay at RMA. Dr. Zinger cleared me to begin and IUI cycle, I have my first appointment, then I get a call from the nurse, saying Dr. zinger said the MFM paperwork isn't good enough. Stop it. Don't even bother going here if you are overweight. On top of that, you never see your doctor, you will have some random doctor performing the procedure on you and that's just not what I signed up for. read more

I went to RMA in 2018 and all of 2021. I have tried working with the patient advocate by sending her my full review, over the course of months nothing has been done and supposedly it is still being reviewed by the director. I am left to leave reviews so that you can make an informed decision instead of relying on people who post after a pleasant consultation. I had 7 IUIs, 2 egg retrievals, and 2 egg transfers. You will rarely see your assigned doctor, I had most of the scans done by technicians or nurses. My two egg retrievals were done by a different doctor. I have spoken to my doctor a handful of times and that is because I have requested he call me. Once you are pregnant you will actually see him or her for each appointment but for many women, it will be a very long time before that happens. Their contracts are very poorly written and you will never feel informed. You will inevitably find out about additional costs that are mandatory but not mentioned in the contract or consultations. There are additional tests that are essential to a given cycle that go unmentioned prior to the start and are then ultimately not included. Their self-pay prices are insane. An HSG test is $900 out of pocket and ten minutes away at a local facility it would have cost max $300 out of pocket but since they put it through insurance I paid about $120. I only found out this was an option when I asked if there were other options. A nurse will tell you to reorder meds but won't first discuss with a doctor and therefore you will end up spending more money on medication that will ultimately not be used. You will then be encouraged to donate the medicine to them. I have over 800 dollars worth of meds in my fridge that are not of use to me. They could also give you medication from donation/samples but some nurses will choose not to. Medication coordination is not well researched.Their job is to research the cheapest option for the individual patient. The clinic simply called my default pharmacy (CVS Specialty) and was told it was covered but at 100% patient responsibility. I called and found I would have to pay close to 9,000 dollars for the one cycle. I then had to do my own research and call multiple pharmacies and compare pricing. I also asked the coordinator whether there were any rebate programs and was told she did not know of any. I then did the research and found Compassion Care and received 50% off three of the main medications after completing their application. When I told her about this, she admitted to knowing about it and congratulated me. In the end the pharmacy I chose cost less than 2500 dollars. Your IUIs may not be performed by a doctor or even an experienced nurse. You may be given someone in training and you will not be asked whether you are fine with that. One of my procedures was botched and left me cramping, bleeding, and in bed for the next two days. Although embryos are biopsied and frozen by day five or six of development you will be made to wait for the embryologist to release the information on day eight, after it has already been sent out to the testing lab where you will pay for each embryo sent. So yes, if you have multiple embryos and don't necessarily want to test all of them, you will find out too late that a certain number has been sent. On my last scan I had a total of 61 follicles with 45 measuring more than 13 mm. With my first cycle I had 32 eggs retrieved and recall being in a fair amount of pain. Despite asking to be seen by the anesthesiologist promptly, I found out I was second on the OR list that day. Once there I found out that I was second out of two. So, despite expressing my concerns they still chose to put someone ahead of me although we arrived at similar times. To be clear, that many follicles are VERY rare so no, many people will not have felt the pain I had felt to the extent that I did. You can see my full review on Fertility IQ's website under RMA for Dr. Zinger labeled as 2021 "successful." read more

I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Pena and his staff at RMA Long Island IVF. Dr. Pena is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and focused. We knew from the start Dr. Pena was the one who would help us achieve our goal of conceiving a second child through IVF. I'm am so happy we decided to work with Dr. Pena and his team, and my husband and I will be forever grateful to him. read more

Dr. Pena and the staff at RMA Long Island IVF have been nothing short of incredible. It is because of them that my husband and I finally have our miracle baby. Throughout our IVF journey Dr. Pena and his staff remained a source of positivity and hope. I cannot express how appreciative I am for their empathy and patience (through my many, MANY questions). Dr. Pena himself was extremely responsive and easy to reach. One time I had even emailed him over the weekend, expecting to hear back from him on Monday, as it was not an emergency. Dr. Pena personally called me about 15 minutes after I sent my email, on a weekend! There are not many doctors so willing to take the time to call and speak to their patient on a weekend to calm their nerves. My husband and I are eternally grateful for Dr. Pena, the nurses, and the entire team at RMA Long Island IVF. read more

My infertility journey has been filled with lots of ups and downs and many questions. Do I want to continue trying? Do I want to try IUI? Do I want to go through the experience of IVF? Emotions run wild as you think about this experience. As we grow up, it just seems so easy; go to school, graduate, have a career, get married, have a baby. Unfortunately, it's not always so easy. After a glowing referral from my OBGYN for Dr. Pena and one consultation with Dr. Pena I knew I was ready to start my IVF journey and not just because Dr. Pena is a major Yankee Fan, which also helped win him over. Dr. Pena, Melissa, Jessica, Alexis, Rosie and his team are nothing short of amazing. There is so much care and support from the moment you walk through the door to the moment you leave every time. Whether you are speaking to the receptionist, the nurses, your coordinator, the doctors, or the medical staff there is always a level of comfort and understanding. This process can be stressful and all consuming, so it was nice to not only have medical talk but also the down to earth conversations about sports and life while I got my blood work or listening to the medical staff's music as you wait for your retrieval and transfer helped to calm the mood and make it an all-around great experience. The process for insurance approval, medication ordering and instructions on what to do each week were smooth and not once was I overwhelmed or confused on what to do and believe me there is a lot to do. One thing to note, your process is all about timing and sometimes you aren't always going to have Dr. Pena available to handle your procedures. I was lucky enough that it worked out for me to have him throughout my entire journey, but know you are in great hands with whomever you encounter so do not let that deter you. Prior to the embryo transfer Dr. Pena talked to me about the procedure and gave me a picture of the embryo and referred to it as the "star player" and he was so right about it, a week later I found out I was pregnant. Not every journey is going to be fast or smooth, but I can tell you that Dr. Pena and his team will be there for you every step of the way. They will help you through your ups and downs and make sure you get the care you need always! read more

Finally, I am going to graduate from Dr. Peña's clinic with 'my diploma.' The diploma I gained from here will be the most meaningful thing during my whole life, rather than 'a piece of paper.' Dr. Peña is not only a physician but also a professor. He fulfills the patients' wonder and fills their eagerness. Dr. Peña and his team are all professionals combining both responsibility and care. I felt sorry that I am a terrible patient with many questions no matter when it came to. However, Dr. Peña and his team were always responding to me as soon as possible. Because of this healthcare field they choose to work in, they really sacrifice their own personal life and time but be delicate to put the patients first. They are real superheroes! At our initial consultation meeting, I still remembered in his small office, he told me the priority thing about time. I had not even thought too much about age or time. My excuse always was to let nature take its course. However, the fact is that there is only a time for women. This consultation changed my mind. I knew I must face this fact and try my best to earn it. Then our journey started there along with his team... Rosie and Sarah's smiling face, cheerful voice and happy laughing and small talk with them; received many calls from Alexis, she is always full of passion and kindness; and Jessi, she has much more patience with whatever we ask about. I remembered she instructed my husband and I how to inject my medications again and again; many instructions for ordering medications and preparing documents from Melissa ; and every time I went to the office, Keren and Liz were the first seen person there, and so on(Sorry, there are many people I have not had a chance to remember their names.) ... Anyways, I have to say that when I saw them and talked to them, I felt delighted, peaceful, and safe because I knew that I had great company with me through this journey. Every journey has an end stop, although, this journey will last in my memory lifelong. With their compassion, care, and assistance, we are on our way to starting a new journey. Thank you for everything they all have done for their patients! My husband and I are very blessed to meet them all. read more

After trying to conceive for 2+ years, my husband and I were finally referred to RMA Long Island IVF. I looked through all the doctors on the website and personally chose Dr. Pena to venture on this journey with. Dr. Pena and his team are absolutely amazing, they create miracles every day and make dreams come true! The IVF journey is a difficult path in itself but Dr. Pena and his nurses really make a WORLD of difference when you have them on your team. Not only did I feel like I was always well informed with all medical treatments and procedures, but I genuinely felt their compassion as they cared for me and invested their time, efforts and emotions into my journey as if I were a member of their own team or family. I have always felt extremely comfortable as a patient and appointments were always quick, easy, upbeat (Dr. Pena and Jess are hysterical together) and I always left feeling really optimistic for what's to come. Because of Dr. Pena, Jess, Alexis and the rest of the staff we have a beautiful baby girl and I truly can't imagine my life without the help of RMALI-IVF. Dr. Pena is undoubtedly the BEST DOCTOR I have ever had. He has been extremely thorough, knowledgeable and available to answer all of my 1,000,000 questions AT ALL TIMES. He responds incredibly fast to all my emails (within the day for sure, most of the time within an hour!) and will even personally call you back directly if a conversation is needed (he does this even after business hours -- he has called me when he was at a concert, he has called me when he was out of town at a conference. He ALWAYS responds). I have never had any other doctor be this accessible, attentive and supportive to make me feel so important and well cared for as a patient. He responds to all my questions in detail and ensures that I fully comprehend and feel comfortable. My nurses are kind, compassionate and extremely helpful and they too are always available to provide support. Even the afterhours on call nurses are really great. If you are looking for the best care with the most genuine team, you want Dr. Pena. I owe everything to them and I appreciate them more than I even have the words for. read more

Dr. Pena and his staff at RMA Long Island IVF have been truly amazing throughout every step of the way. When I met Dr. Pena for the first time a few years ago I knew that he was the right doctor for me. I am anxious about many things when it comes to health. Dr. Pena always and continues to take the time to make me feel comfortable. He is patient and thorough when answering all my questions and discussing our plan. In 2019, my husband and I did our first IUI cycle. We were very fortunate to find out we were pregnant on the very first try. Unfortunately, during our 8 week appointment we found out that the baby had no heartbeat. Dr. Pena and Jessica were so incredible through the process. In 2020, I began the journey again. After meeting with Dr. Pena for our new plan we decided to try a few more IUI cycles since I had such success getting pregnant. Unfortunately, a decision had to be made after several failed rounds of IUI cycles. I was very reluctant to do IVF. I was terrified of the thought of giving myself shots and taking hormones. Dr. Pena was understanding and supported my decision of continuing IUI cycles. He never once made me feel pressured. After another lengthy discussion with Dr. Pena he said that IVF will be my best option for success. In 2021, I started my first IVF cycle. Alexis and Jessica were absolutely amazing and I couldn't have done it without them. I wrote them emails daily and had a few panicked moments. Sharon also made me feel calm and always remained positive. The RMA staff all always took the time to help me and everyone whom I crossed paths with has truly been wonderful. Dr. Pena recently performed my very first embryo transfer. I am very blessed to say that I am currently 6 weeks pregnant. I am so thankful Dr. Pena had guided me to choose this path. I have recommended Dr. Pena to friends that are looking to start the process. read more

If I can give a 0 we would give it. Long Island IVF takes all of your money to bleed you dry then want you out of there when you don't have any more money to spend with them. In the beginning Dr. Kenigsberg seemed nice, then all the sudden became a snake trying to sneak unethical practices by. My wife had a medical condition that should of been monitored and was not, he said it is not necessary....then why do they take blood work for anything then?? The medication she takes for her condition has negative interactions with the IVF drugs...he should know that!! So, after the failed IVF she had a DR appointment with her Endocrinologist and it turned out her levels were 10x the normal to get pregnant which was 3 weeks after the IVF, so when the IVF was done it was probably 20x!!! When we told him that he said that is impossible and wanted to do his own blood work, well after the blood work we never heard from him and went to his facility to pick up the paperwork and he had the nurse tell us it was a normal level and he signed it when it clearly states it is not normal in the range above his signature. We spoke with other Doctors and Pharmacists and they all said it was negligence & unethical. We had (4) failed IUI's that had mobility of 33% on a paper they added on after we signed and (1) failed IVF...We took our embryos out of there!!! In addition, they told us to do another fresh cycle instead of the frozen embryos...yeah sure another $15,000. He invited us in his office after the failed IVF and then complained about it saying I WENT OVER THIS ALREADY, then he charged us a $60 office visit. Everyone should RUN from this place, they should not be in business and Dr. Kenigsberg should have his medical license taken away!!!! I wonder how many other people he gave false hope to and made himself rich! read more

My name is Christine and I'm 42 years old. My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for 5 years. In 2019, I went through my first IVF cycle in Boston, MA with no success. In July 2020, I went through my second IVF cycle in Manhattan with no success. During both of these cycles, I was diagnosed with DCIS (breast cancer), hydrosalpinx (fallopian tube blocked), 3 large fibroids, and endometriosis in my right fallopian tube. After multiple surgeries and radiation therapy, my husband and I moved to Long Island New York and found Dr. Joseph Pena at RMA. In December 2020, I went through my 3rd IVF cycle with Dr. Pena and we finally got a healthy embryo! We did genetic testing to make sure there were no chromosomal abnormalities and now, I can happily say that I am pregnant. Dr. Pena and all the staff at RMA have been wonderful. At 42 years old, doctors will often tell you that it's going to be harder to get pregnant and that your chances are lower. I literally had 4 doctors before Dr. Pena and they all told me the same thing. But it's not true. Dr. Pena never made me feel like I was "too old" or that "my chances were lower" of having a healthy embryo and getting pregnant. He is very compassionate and cares about his patients. He jokes with you and makes you feel comfortable. I'm always smiling when I go into the East Patchogue office (and Melville). I know that with the combined efforts of Dr. Pena and his staff (Peggy, Karen, Jess, Alexis, Stephanie) and my willingness to truly believe that I would hold my baby in my arms, is the reason the I am pregnant today. Thank you Dr. Pena. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Pena's for approximately one year. From the date of our consultation until the moment I was discharged from his care he and his team have been professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, supportive, understanding, honest and friendly. The IVF journey has been one stressful rollercoaster, to say the least. I had three rounds of IVF and got pregnant on the second round. On my first prenatal appointment with my OB I learned I had a miscarriage. Devastated and hoping for a miracle, I reached out to Dr. Pena on his very busy day in the OR so that he could see me. He squeezed me in, surely knowing the result was not going to be different, and it wasn't. I realize that he did it because that is what he knew I needed at the time to help me get through it. Not only did he scan me, but he talked to me until I was ready to go and for that, I am forever grateful. That's the kind of Dr. he is. Every time I had a question or concern either Dr. Pena or his nurses, Alexis and Jess (both equally amazing and very knowledgeable), would get back to me quickly either via email or phone. They, as well as Rosie, their incredibly sweet phlebotomist, genuinely care for their patients. They are so excited when there is good news to share and are very supportive when the news is not so good. I am happy to report that round three again resulted in a pregnancy and we are two days away from getting through the 1st trimester. My husband and I are very thankful to the entire RMA team! read more

I was 28 years old when I found out I was having infertility issues. By 29 I found out that due to an infection from my first c-section, both of my tubes closed and I could no longer have children unless I go through IVF. This made me very nervous and I knew that I had to see a doctor who was very experienced, sensitive, and dealt successfully with cases like mine. I did a lot of research and I found Dr.Pena at RMA Long Island IVF in Patchogue. At my initial appointment I knew Doctor Pena was the right person to go to. He didn't just diagnose me, he explained all the steps I had to take to make my IVF journey successful. He recommend great doctors that were linked to my case and monitored me every step of the way. Unfortunately my first cycle did not produce successful results because of my PCOS. My body just did not react to the medication as it should have done. From this Dr.Pena took a deeper look and changed things so that the results were much more positive. Because of that change I retrieved a great amount of eggs and fertilized enough to not go through a cycle again. The best news is... I AM 7 WEEKS PREGNANT, THANK GOD. I am very happy to have gone to Dr. Joseph Pena at RMA in Patchogue. Not only did he get me here, but the staff are very nice and accommodating. There are several locations and Pena can access blood/sono records from any of the locations, so distance to work or my house was never a problem. I highly recommend to see Dr.Pena at RMA! read more

My husband and I found LI IVF after our third early pregnancy loss in February. We knew we needed to seek fertility treatment. At our initial consultation with Dr. Pena, we felt safe and educated. After an investigation into our medical history and many thorough tests, we ultimately decided to go the IVF route. We could not have been in better hands than with Dr. Pena and his nurses. He is extremely knowledgeable, smart and honest. I genuinely wouldn't trust being in anyone else's care going through such a sensitive and nerve wracking process. I also cannot say enough about the amazing nurses. We were always treated like family. There is a ton of important and new information that goes along with IVF and they never let me feel overwhelmed, it was all such a smooth, organized process. Jess at the West Islip office is such a gem! Shes so caring and sweet. She ALWAYS answered every question (even if there were 30). I am really glad I had her to go through this with! We saw a few nurses at Melville who did sonograms and blood draws & they were all wonderful and happy! The happiness from the staff in both offices made each visit a pleasure! I never dreaded a single appointment, in fact, I looked forward to them! We were very fortunate to get pregnant on our first IVF cycle and I feel super comfortable knowing I will be monitored regularly going forward in our pregnancy to continue our peace of mind. We are forever grateful for their huge part in our journey! read more

Dr. Pena and his team are absolutely incredible. He came highly recommended from my gyno, and after the experience I had, I completely understand why! Despite being a busy doctor, Dr. Pena answered every question I had via email in such a timely manner, and even took the time to call me a few times to chat through my questions. He is so smart, caring and thorough - everything you would want in a doctor when going through something as difficult as IVF. I was able to have success on my first go around with IVF, and I know it's all thanks to Dr. Pena and his brilliant team. Melissa was my IVF Coordinator - describing her as amazing doesn't even begin to cover it. I must have emailed her about 10,000x and she always was so friendly and empathetic in her replies, and never made me feel like I was a bother. She is so thoughtful, caring and organized like no other. My anxiety lessened tremendously knowing I was in such great hands with Melissa helping to map everything out for me. One more thing - they keep things moving! I never had to wait more than 5 minutes which is very rare to see in a doctor's office. They were always so efficient which was greatly appreciated considering how many appointments are needed. I thought this process would be a nightmare, but honestly it was seamless and I have Dr. Pena and his team to thank for that. I would 10/10 recommend Dr. Pena!!! read more

I have been working with Dr. Pena and the RMA LI IVF staff for a little over 8 months. Over the course of our journey, I have consistently received exceptional medical care in a friendly, supportive, and welcoming environment. Dr. Pena is thoughtful in his development of treatment plans- regarding both medical circumstance and personal feelings. There have been numerous times when I have emailed Dr. Pena a question, only to receive a phone call shortly after. He takes the time to answer any questions I have and is incredibly knowledgeable. I found that the wonderful care did not end with Dr. Pena and the IVF nurses Jess and Alexis are equally as wonderful. They were also always available by phone or email and are both extremely knowledgeable and supportive throughout this difficult process. I was always warmly welcomed to the office by Peggy, and every med tech who drew my blood was great. I prefer to lie down for blood work and I never felt like any request was too much despite the busy practice. Egg retrievals and transfers and done in the Melville location and the staff there was always great as well. Lastly, and most importantly, Dr. Pena "gets it done." I am currently pregnant after a difficult road and I owe it all to Dr. Pena. I would recommend him and the entire RMA LI IVF practice to anyone looking to start their infertility journey. read more

Dr. Pena and his entire team made our IVF journey so much smoother than we ever expected. From the very first appointment, the office was incredibly organized - scheduling was seamless, wait times were minimal, and we never felt lost in the process. The nursing staff was proactive and thoughtful; they called promptly with test results, instructions, and updates, so we always knew exactly what was happening next. Dr. Pena himself is wonderfully responsive. Any question we texted or called about (day or night, weekend or weekday) was answered quickly and thoroughly. It gave us such peace of mind during a time that can feel overwhelming. The nurses deserve special praise - every single one is kind, patient, and genuinely caring. The team at the surgery center stood out the most; they have a special gift for making you feel calm and cared for when you're at your most vulnerable. They explained everything, held your hand if you needed it, and truly made the egg retrieval day as comfortable as it could possibly be. Overall, Dr. Pena and his staff turned what could have been a stressful experience into one that felt easy, convenient, and even hopeful. Dr. Pena is compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly invested in his patients. I recommend him and this practice without any hesitation to anyone going through IVF - you will be in the very best hands. read more

Dr. Pena and the staff at LI-IVF have been absolutely amazing. They are always friendly and answer every question. I wish more doctors offices utilized email like LI-IVF. Your IVF nurse or even Dr. Pena was always only an email away. I always received an answer within 24 hrs. In a time were I was worried, panicking and upset, . I had sent an email to Dr. Pena and received a reply within minutes. Dr. Pena then called me to verify the information and to help assume me that everything was going to be ok. This was then followed by a call from my nurse to make sure I was doing ok. The time, effort and the amount of care that Dr. Pena and his staff showed me was just astounding. Although I mostly visited the West Islip office, I also had to opportunity to visit the Patchogue office. The staff in both West Islip and Patchogue are wonderful, friendly and very knowledgeable. My husband and I understood that nothing is guaranteed and were expecting a negative first beta result. We were planning on when we could try a 2nd transfer and if needed another full round of IVF. My husband and I would not be here today, preparing to become first time parents, without the knowledge, help, and reassurances from LI-IVF. We will be seeing them again when we're ready for a second baby. I highly recommend Dr. Pena and the Long Island IVF team. read more

I am surprised at reading the terrible reviews Long Island IVF has received; however, I understand everybody's experience is unique. I, for one, love Dr. Brenner and am very appreciative of Long Island IVF. Thanks, first to God, and then to Dr. Brenner, and his team, I am finally a mommy and my baby girl is doing superbly (thank God). My husband and I endured miscarriages, ectopic pregnancy, and dim prospects of becoming parents until we met with Dr. Brenner. He was very professional and very accessible to answer the many questions I had during the ivf process. Due to my reproductive complications, ivf was our only option and again, Dr. Brenner was very supportive. He is respectful , professional and most importantly, very knowledgable. He is caring as well, as he reached out to see how I was doing after certain procedures. I was attended at the New Hyde Park and Melville locations. I met with him for the first time on February 10,2014 and my baby was born February 16, 2015. It would be a shame to have some bad reviews deter anyone from giving Long Island IVF a chance. They honestly made my dream of being a mother come true! I urge anyone who is having fertility issues to please at least meet with Dr. Brenner and check out the clinic so you can make an informed decision. Good luck to all the prospective parents! read more

Dr. Pena came highly recommended to us from our OB. Dr. Pena and his team (Jess, Alexis, Melissa, Rosie, Karen and whoever I missed) has been awesome during this whole process. We first started with a few cycles of IUI which did not work and then we moved onto IVF and did a few rounds of that. It has been a roller coaster of emotions but Dr. Pena and his team has been with us every step of the way. We had 3 rounds of IVF conducted, the first implant unfortunately did not take, but it was the second implant that really put us through it a bit. With the second round we ended up getting a positive result initially, on a Friday and after going through failed IUI and IVF treatments, we were so happy to get that news. Unfortunately, it was short lived as that Monday we were informed that we mis-carried. While that news was hard to take, the team has been with us every step of the way. We ended up jumping right into the next implant, which I am currently happy to say has led me to currently being 5 weeks pregnant. While it has been a roller coaster of emotions and is still early in the pregnancy, Dr. Pena and team was sure to be attenuative, quickly replied to our emails and calls, and answered whatever questions we had. I would definitely recommend Dr. Pena and his team at RMA LI. read more

After trying for two years and being unsuccessful my husband and I knew we needed some help. Dr. Pena and his team came highly recommend so we called for a consultation and we're shocked about how quickly we were able to come in. Learning that we needed to move straight to IVF due to male factor infertility was definitely hard to hear but Dr.Pena really put us at ease and made us feel extremely confident that we were taking the right steps to grow our family. We quickly started the IVF process and the whole entire team, from the front office staff, to the nurses, the phlebotomists and of course Dr. Pena we're more then amazing. Everyone is so friendly and they make you feel welcome and comfortable. If I ever had a question it was never a struggle to get in contact with anyone in the office. Dr Pena and his team we're quick to return phone calls and answer emails. Morning monitoring hours were quick and convenient before work. It's still extremely early but I am pregnant from my first frozen embryo transfer and have everyone over at the RMA Long Island IVF patchogue office to thank for it! I have nothing but great things to say about Dr.Pena and his team. If you are struggling like me and my husband were please know you are in amazing hands if you choose them. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Brenner's at the New Hyde Park office for a little over a year and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. The entire NHP staff was caring and dedicated. Calls and emails were always answered in a timely fashion by anyone I left a message for- Dr., nurses, billers, etc. My questions (and I had A LOT of them) were always answered. If I didn't understand something, I'd ask again. The front desk girls were sweet and friendly. The OR staff in Melville was outstanding and always made me feel very comfortable. Nothing is perfect and things would bother me, but that's life. I couldn't control the sono tech being late and making me late for work. There was no way of avoiding the long wait times on weekends in Melville (the only office open). The important thing was that my doctor knew what he was talking about and was informative. I trusted him. The other things didn't actually matter. I understand everyone's situation and experience is different but I would personally recommend Dr. Brenner to anyone. It took 6 IUIs and 3 rounds of IVF but I am now pregnant because of Dr. Brenner and my phenomenal nurses- Lauren, Jackie, and Vanessa. I can't thank them enough for their time and dedication over the last year! We love them. read more

My husband and I ended up in Dr. Pena's office due to an insurance change. We had previously been at another clinic for our first child and while we were originally happy with them, felt ready for a change when the insurance didn't work out. From the moment we stepped into Dr. Pena's office we were met with kindness, understanding, and positivity. Throughout the process of our initial workup, our two egg retrievals, and a FET cycle, Dr. Pena and his staff were helpful and available for questions and concerns. On more than one occasion Dr. Pena spent over 20 minutes answering questions I had on my results and listened to any concerns I had. I found it extremely touching that after a quick email, Dr. Pena reached out within an hour to listen to me and answer my concerns over the phone personally. I also think it is important to express that while talking to him I never once felt silly for my questions, he was never rude or arrogant which I have found with other doctors. While he was not on the schedule the days of my retrievals or FET, he and his staff made me feel extremely comfortable with the other doctors I had those days. I have been extremely happy with RMA, Dr. Pena, and his staff on my journey. read more

My experience with Dr. Pena and his entire staff at all 3 of the locations I have visited (East Patchogue, West Islip, and Melville) has been nothing short of amazing. Having had been with a different clinic for 2 years, I can't express how impressed I was with the caring and patient nature of Dr. Pena and all of the staff. The knowledge base they have is so impressive! Joey knew my history the first time I met her from reading through my files - she was thorough and made me feel like I had absolutely come to the right place. Every step of the way they helped calm my anxiety, answered all of my questions, and made me feel like I mattered as a patient, which in this particular field means so much. Peggy makes every visit exciting and she makes you feel like you've been good friends for years every time she answers the phone. I am currently pregnant, and Dr. Pena's care and consideration did not stop with a positive pregnancy test. He's caring, funny, and makes conversation with you. Through all of my fertility struggles, I had a complete change in outlook and attitude as soon as I met Dr. Pena and his staff. My husband and I couldn't be more thankful :) read more

I cannot say enough good things about RMA Long Island. From the moment I first contacted the East Patchogue office, everyone in the office was so helpful and informative. All my questions or concerns were always answered in a timely manner and everyone always had a smile on their face. The entire office and practice is such a well oiled machine that I never had to worry about anything. Every single employee in the office always knows what they are doing without question. Every single step of my process was simple and well explained to me whether it was by the Dr, a nurse, a sono tech or the receptionist. Medications were always ordered on time and sent to my pharmacy within minutes of me speaking to someone. This process can be very overwhelming and stressful (which does not help) but with this practice I did not feel overwhelmed or stressed at all. I also never felt rushed when I was meeting with anyone. Even with an office full of patients I always felt like I was the priority and the Dr. or nurse would spend as much time with me as I needed. I would recommend RMA Long Island and Dr. Pena and his staff to anyone who has to go through this process. read more
