We stayed here over night in a whirl pool suit. The honey bee suit.. the room was very nice. But the noises over head from the rooms above you, being able to hear crying babys at 3:00 am. Did not get much sleep. The bed was comfortable. But the walls like I said are very thin.Plenty of room in the Aquatic center is huge but the floor of the pools could use upgrades as it looks dirty. Even thoe it is not. The whirlpool was very refreshing. The bar was peaceful as it was just my husband and I and the bar tender. So just for play and not much sleep it's a great place to stay. Check in the staff was amazing super helpful. The place was clean and pool great we got to our room and some one was smoking pot. The entire 2nd floor could smell it the hall. I called staff they came up promptly and tried to deal with the issue. Staff had an idea who it was and had a complaint earlier. It's s super fun for the kids the pools were at a good depth so I could enjoy the water and they could still be safe in the water. the hot tub a 103* deg felt great. Some negatives there are some sadly. Like the bar tender closed up early but was also acting unprofessional when she did this yelling and screaming at people who said I thought this closed at midnight it was 10pm. Also she kicked out people wanted to get pizza and she was yelling that she already cleaned up. The morning staff of people had a different mentality the staff was not as happy and not as Helpful as the other staffers. I am super lucky I had the lady's I had working that I did during my stay. Just a little consistency would be appreciated. Breakfast the eggs were salty but other than that the lady's serving worked hard and were very kind. They made the best of the breakfast time they could they could use another waffle maker it takes 3 min to make one waffle the girls had a line of people trying to get there kiddos some waffles. I really wanted to like this place especially since we got a deal on Groupon. The room felt dusty so for a person with dust mite allergies like me it might be difficult to stay in. The online photos of the Whitetail room are nothing like it in real life. Maybe the deal brings in shady characters because the people next door were having a physical altercation which we reported to management. If you're easily susceptible to athletes foot, wear sandals on the pool and in the pool. If you're a biracial couple or not Caucasian, expect to get stared at, a lot, by the hotel guests. I guess diversity isn't a big word in Tomah. If you have a gluten allergy, bring your own breakfast because although they kindly offer a carb heavy breakfast, the only thing I could eat was yogurt and fruit for breakfast. I hate to say this but skip the entire town altogether. read more

We were looking for a small water park to take our 2 yo grandchild to play. Cranberry Country lodge was the perfect location. Drove over from Necedah. The pool is open from 8 am to 11 pm. Hours that outlasted the grandkids ! There was 6 of us. 4 adults , 1 toddler and an infant. We got 2 adjoining rooms each with 2 queen beds and it was perfect. The beds were clean and comfortable. The sitting area was perfect to relax in. The breakfast in the morning was hot , good and perfect for our party. Especially the Donettes for the little guy. We had a blast. The staff was very friendly and around only if you needed them. It was a perfect getaway from these cold winter days and we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Cranberry! I didn't get lodging on post at Ft. McCoy. Instead I got sent here. It's about a 20 minute ride from the post. The lobby looks like a modern lodge. There is a bar and restaurant inside. The room has a sofa in front of the bathroom (a sofa sleeper), desk, mini kitchen, sink, and king sized bed. Thank goodness for wireless internet. All the staff is friendly. I came in late last night and they were very pleasant, even though I might have been really tired. The staff leaves nice handwritten notes in your room everyday (nothing creepy, just "enjoy your stay here" and things like that). There is no Comcast out here, it's called Charter. Same look and feel though. Outside the hotel there is a gas station, Taco Bell, Culver's, Pizza Hut and movie theater (all which I'll be yelping in the following days). If you find yourself driving through Wisconsin and need a place to rest, definitely try this place. read more

Just spent 4 days here. I have two boys, 9 and 15-- they both enjoyed the waterpark. It's not huge, but it's plenty big for them to play. I loved the room. It came with TWO televisions, which is nice (they boys didn't have to fight over who got to watch what. we will be visiting again next year and plan to stay at the Cranberry Country Lodge. Let's start with the few positive things first. The rooms were clean. Bed was pretty comfortable with lots of pillows. The pool area was good for my 3 year old, when it wasn't crowded with locals using it as the public pool. "Swim lessons" I was told. Manny, who I only spoke with on the phone, was very nice. He responded quickly to the FIGHT that was happening outside my door and down the hallway at around midnight. Apparently 2 guys that were "staying here for a long time" were over served at the hotel pub and proceeded to beat the crap out of each other banging against my door and others. Not sure if the drunks live there or what? Manny did break up the fight and then call me back to let me know that they were done for the night. Thanks Manny but I'm glad that was our last night, not much sleep after that. The "brew and bites" as said on the advertisement is staffed with a crabby lazy bartender. As my family walked into the empty bar around 5 when they opened, she was less then friendly. We asked if that was where they had food too and she said "well...ya, pizza...but let me see if we have any". She went in back and checked and either they were out or she just couldnt find the strength to cook a FROZEN pizza. I think we are lucky they were "out" of pizza! Miss sassy is just waiting on the 6:00 local bunch that comes in and uses it as a local watering hole. Not family friendly as you walk by the drunks in the window towards the pool! Which by the way in an almost empty hotel why were we in almost the furthest room from the pool? Seriously complete other end! 6 cars in the parking lot at night and opposite end from the pool and directly under what seemed the only occupant on the second floor right above us!!!! Bang bang...don't stay here if you want to sleep at night! We never saw breakfast, again, probably a blessing. It's only from 6 to 9 am. Which on vacation, I'm sorry it's hard to make it down there before then. When I filled out my long response/comment card and spoke with the lady at checkout it was clear that she didn't care. So take my advise, do not bother...this place is a lost cause. Shame. read more

The facility itself was fine. Rooms were comfortable and clean. No complaints with the building or amenities. The pool was impressive. Kids loved it. The problem was the service. Front desk people seemed to not care about anything. When we told them that our room phone didn't work, their response was, "ok" and then walked away. When asked about a late checkout the next morning, they were rude because it was obviously an inconvenience for them. I wouldn't say that I'll never stay here again, but it won't be my first choice. Would recommend driving a little farther and staying somewhere where I didn't feel like an inconvenience to those that are supposed to be serving me. read more

I stopped her late one night on my way to Minnesota with 2 kids. It's not fancy, the room is a little outdated with the bathroom showing some wear and tear. Everything was clean, super comfy bed with about 10 fluffy pillows. Very nice staff. Didn't stay for breakfast as it doesn't start until 7, and kids wanted to get on the road. Here's the low down: Unless you have to go to Tomah WI......don't go. There really isn't anything to do. That being said, my family ended up here and the cranberry lodge was.....fine. Bed sheets smelled like bleach, the walls were thin, and the breakfast was nothing to brag about. The pool area was cute, my kids enjoyed the slides and I enjoyed the hot tub. Staying at Cranberry Country Lodge for almost 3 weeks for work was a home away from home. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The staff was AMAZING. Zachary, Manny, Zebadiah, and the rest were so kind, helpful, and incredibly patient. Zachary especially was my go-to for questions and help when needed, and he was always so professional. The bar was a fun spot for drinks at the end of the day. It's a good location for Tomah and near the highway. The Aquatic Center looked like fun and was very popular. People from nearby came just to go there! Definitely a good place to stay if you're in Tomah or the surrounding area. read more

Excellent customer service that is friendly and goes above expectation. The room was very clean and spacious. I do wish there were more options for hanging towels or wet swimsuits in the bathroom, but other than that, my family had a great getaway and will definitely be returning. I have three kids under the age of 6, the pool area is perfect for them, and they probably would stay in that area all day if they could. The water park isn't massive, but it kept a smile on their face the whole time. read more

We stayed for a quick night on our way home from vacation. Nights staff was friendly and check in was simple. Breakfast was great and everything was clean. The only con was that the room air conditioner only runs for about 10 minute increments so the room wasn't quite as cool as we are used to at night. read more

Family friendly hotel! Clean, nice rooms. Very comfortable beds. Our suite included a kitchenette which was great when traveling with little kids. Staff was friendly and attentive. Water park isn't very big but was good for our three little kids, we could keep track of all three pretty easily. Close to restaurants and a Walmart. It was the worst stay!!! Never will I stay here again and will not recommend. Once I arrived, the front desk clerk hesitated for a full five minutes before asking "May I help you". I came in from a days work, my bed was not made, my trash had not been taken out, my used towels had not been removed. I had to call the front desk to ask why hadn't my room been cleaned, only to come back the next day and my bed was still not made. OMG, it was horrible. read more

We chose to stay here specifically because it said hot breakfast on the website. We were very excited that breakfast started at 6am because we had to leave the hotel each morning by 6:15. The bad part was that when we came down for breakfast, it didn't even open or have food until 6:20 and the staff member setting up didn't say a thing to us. They ignored us, didn't explain that they were running late, anything. We weren't able to have breakfast even though we stayed there and paid for it. We had a birthday party there and payed for all the swimming and 30 minutes into the party they had a water aerobics class and weren't allowed to use half the pool or play water volleyball. Talked to the shift supervisor and he said there was nothing he could do. Guess a heads up before we booked party woulda been professional. He did refund half the money but party was ruined by old people getting mad at our kids throwing balls and splashing. Didn't know it was a YMCA. read more

Same situation as most Army guy visiting temporarily... Not bad Ive seen worst, I was there in the dead of winter so no use of the fabulous looking indoor pool area. But bonus its got a BAR in the lobby which was a life saver! Clean rooms, though they painted not too long prior to my arrival and the stench was a bit much. TVs were inadeguate and didnt work all the time, a buddies bremotes broke and had to be replaced...but they were Johnny on the spot and fixed them. Not bad place, though I wouldnt have chosen it myself. The Tomah area by the way is stark to say the least, business only in this sparse area. read more
