Very GOLF friendly..bag drops, starters, course itself! Greens are challenging but hey it's golf

Great course, people are friendly and food is better than most golf courses. Stay out of the rough or bring an extra ball with you. One major draw back for those who don't have a full foursome, you can't book a tee time online. I'm a single player usually, so I just show up and hope I can get in with another group who is short. Beautiful municipal golf course. Very open off the tee and somewhat flat. Bunkers do a great job of defining the hole. Greens are mostly tame, but we played them after some rain. Standout holes for me are the following: Holes 5 and 11, both are a shortish par 4 with some very well placed bunkers. Hole 12 is a gorgeous hole with water up the right side. 13 is a par 3 that plays down the hill. The scale here really sets it apart. Lastly hole 16 is a sharp dogleg left where the green is hidden from your tee shot. But you see that the hole opens up after you get to the fairway. The people here were very nice, the course is affordable and in fantastic shape, and the GPS in the carts are top notch. Definitely a place to play regularly for a fun round. read more

Beautiful links course with an incredibly friendly staff. Found the entire course to be in great shape from the greens to the tee boxes. For a high handicapper like myself, it will eat up plenty of your golf balls in the tall grass, but that's normal for me. We didn't get to try the clubhouse for any food or drinks, but hope to during a future visit. read more

We had a wonderful experience with both golfing and getting married here. The course is always in tip top shape. The food selections are great. The venue for a wedding was lovely. Brenda is a perfect wedding coordinator and very organized. Everything went so smooth and perfect. Our guests loved this place and many of them were jealous about how pretty the course was -especially the out of towners. The only thing I would say for anyone going here especially for golf, just be patient with the staff with the golf, they appreciate experienced golfers and want things to move on time. Play at pace and be ready for play. As long as you are respectful and listen, they will return it. Make sure you are always on time here for golf. Highly recommend this place for both a wedding and or golf outings or golf in general. read more

Workers were ignorant. Stopped us over 3 or 4 times accusing one of us of not paying. Showed them receipts for proof before the round started on the first tee box. Then again on the 6th hole green. In the middle of a putting, stopping our play and demanding receipts. After showing receipts, he still argued! Then showed our transaction via our banks mobile apps. Terrible service. Terrible workers who treat the golfers with zero respect. All former retired old men looking and hoping for controversy. Sad the township let it get like this there. We have had lessons here in the past. Based on that my husband bought me a gift card for lessons at Christmas 2023. I have been trying unsuccessfully to schedule classes. Sent a message through to website, called the pro shop, and today I went there in person and was told the pro had surgery. While I empathize I can not fathom a golf club without lessons. The website has not been updated to reflect a delay in scheduling lessons. The pro never called me back, he was there in the shop today full of excuses. I want my money back. read more

Course isn't bad but this place doesn't recycle at all. That's a big problem. The township here does offer recycling services so there are no excuses. read more

Nice layout. Well designed and challenging but fair. Rough is tougher and longer than most public courses. Also have some of the high fescue witch can be tough to find anything in. One really tough par 3 over a ravine. Greens roll at a nice speed but are a little rough, need to be rolled. All in all a nice course. read more

We had a great time at this golf course!! The course is shorter than most, but the rough is really long. I would recommend bringing an extra 3 pack of balls here because sometimes the rough is so bad you just can't find your ball even if you swear you know exactly where it bounced off of the fairway. This course is fun and I'll definatley come again. The clubhouse hot dogs are better than most other clubhouses. For the $ you spend this course is a great deal. read more

Played in an outing recently and loved this course. It's pretty short, so if you are a good player, tee it up from the back tees. It's fairly open but if someone is spraying it all over, they will be in trouble as there is a lot of fescue. Fairways and greens are in great shape, Par 3s are all memorable and fun. Well bunkered, only a little water. I think for an average golfer, it would be fun because it's not that long, though anyone above a 10 handicap may want to bring extra golf balls. Didn't try the range, but a nice putting green, pro shop, restaurant. Staff is very friendly. Very much worth playing! read more

I've played CHGC around 8-10 times now, spring, fall and summer, and it's ALWAYS in tremendous shape. The Highlights: ----------------- The carts have GPS The tee boxes are trim and level The greens roll like you'd expect The fairways are always cut short The staff is always friendly Nice range Nice putting greens My only knock is that the layout isn't anything special like Boulder Creek, Stonewall, Firestone Farms or The Quarry. However, the conditions make up for the lack of hole-to-hole creativity. Best public course I've played in PA so far. Looking forward to playing it a few more times this year before the season ends. read more

I live within 5 minutes of Cranberry Highlands and several times I have not be able to get on the course. Too many outings that pretty much kill most of the day, if not the entire day, for being able to get out and play. Several times I have driven over and the course is closed to the public due to an outing. it's a town owned golf course and they sell it out for these outings more than any other course I've ever seen. Can't even use the range when they have all their players on the course for a shotgun start. I won't be going back. The course itself is nice. They could make the greens faster than they are but that would slow play. Fairways are nice as well, and it's well maintained. The greens staff is really good. Too bad such a nice course is inaccessible to the people who live in the town. The high grass between many of the holes is a nice touch that helps defend the course since it's a little on the short side. Not solely my opinion either, on the accessibility. Other people are not happy that they cannot make a tee time as a single. Frequently they (and myself) are told to come at a certain time because there is an opening, but they won't put you on the tee sheet. You can guess what happens, something changes and you can't get out or are told to wait for an hour. On-line tee time system only accommodates foursomes, so you have to call if you have less that 4 people. If I could make a tee time as a single I could plan my day around it, but since I cannot it's a no-go to golf there. And honestly I think they are so revenue focused that putting a single there means they cannot book a whole foursome so they refuse to do it. It's a golf course owned by the town of Cranberry but doesn't care enough about the residents to not have all the outings, so people go elsewhere. At the rates that they charge, something else that a lot of people complain about, it's not worth it. As far as the course goes, it's definitely nice enough to play 1-2 times per month. However at the resident rates they charge plus the accessibility issues, I won't even try to go there anymore. Not even for the range. Not for anything. It's not a big deal that I turn around and drive 5 minutes back to my house. But it just shows that they don't have any regard for anything other than making a few bucks more by doing so many outings. At $44/54 (weekday / weekend resident) you are not getting that much of a break for a golf course that your own town paid for, with your taxes. non-resident is $50/66. Before I got frustrated with the place I'd ask people to play there and then stop over my house. People don't want to pay that much for that course. Shame, shame, shame. read more

Played this course yesterday. I can't say enough good about the experience. The checkin was easy. The starter got us out a little early and was fun. Tees were pristine and the fairways lush and short. Rough was pretty thick. There was a little wear on the greens around the holes but it was late afternoon. The course is relatively short and tight at spots rewarding good shots. My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed it read more

One of the nicest public courses in the Pittsburgh area. Incredibly well maintained. It's hilly, but that's what you get when you play in Western PA. There's a good discount if you're a Cranberry resident. read more

This is a well maintained, scenic and reasonably priced course just a touch north of the Pittsburgh metro. Although other reviewers have commented on the rough, the course is very playable as it is not long and the fairways are quite generous. The bunkers are in excellent condition, a rarity for a public course. Play the correct tee and you'll have a great time. read more

I absolutely love this course. The holes are nicely placed, great scenery and not too difficult. The prices are exquisite for Cranberry Twp. Especially since the course is so well maintained. Their is also a nice junior golf program, you get to play nine holes once a week plus lunch, a great deal. I would most definitely recommend this course, for a one time round, or your regular course. read more

We played the course yesterday(Fri./Aug. 28th) and to a man agreed it's got a great layout and is in pristine condition. So why am I writing a review (which I never do) because we want others to know 1st., that we waited on average 15 minutes each hole to tee off and 2nd., we waited on average 10 minutes to hit our fairway shot. We saw a ranger one time the whole round. Hope management takes notice of customers playing an almost 5 hour round of golf. It simply was frustrating and unnecessary. read more
