LongBeach Washington Cranberry Museum . Don't miss it Or The yummy Ice Cream!

Don't miss this Awesome Place. Well worth the free stop and self guided tour. The ICE CREAM AND LOTIONS AND SOSPS ARE TO DIE FOR Yum Yum

I have been a cranberry fan as far back as I can remember and was excited to visit here. We did the walk of the shop and a bit outside, didn't spend more than 30 minutes. It was educational and interesting. Bought the cranberry ice cream and dare I say I didn't care for it much but my honey thought it was great. The person working in the shop was very enthusiastic about cranberries and sharing her knowledge. Just not all of us want to communicate that way and I think she picked up on that. We still bought a bunch of stuff and we are happy we stopped here on our daycation.

Very nice sales lady in the gift shop, local made cranberry ice cream & lots of delicious Oregon coast made chocolates. Very relaxing place to get away from the tourist "noise"

The cranberry ice cream was delicious! Highly recommended you stop there and try the yummy cranberry ice cream, beautiful red, good price! They also have other cute things about cranberry, very warm and welcoming, can learn some knowledge about cranberry.

This was an incredible adventure. You can actually watch a bog harvest in October. We did this and it was enlightening! The museum has historic implements and info on how harvests are completed. The shop is fun ...and yummy. I highly suggest this!

    Cranberry truffle. Locally made.

Walked out to the bogs for the self guided tour then went into the museum and store. The museum hostess/ store cashier was charming and helpful. I bought some of the cranberry chocolate truffles made locally. No soy! So yummy. Look for them at the register. So many cute cranberry things and so much information about the cranberry history. Fun way to spend a little time.

A fun, informative museum, with a reasonably priced gift shop. If you come in October during harvest times you can see the flooded bogs with berries bobbing. Definitely worth a stop to see the history and tools of cranberry harvesting. Ample parking. Friendly folks. 5 stars, as this is the best cranberry museum I've ever seen. :)

    Learned about the Bounce!

I'll never see a cranberry in the same way ever again! The inventions over time by the workers who actually used the equipment were fascinating. This was a really well organized museum just the right size and content for a specialty museum IMHO. Their research wing has a lot of volunteers. Great gift shop too.

Cool little stop. Everything cranberry you can dream of. Gotta get the homemade cranberry ice cream.

We absolutely love going to visit the Cranberry museum every time we are in Long Beach. The exhibits and the history of cranberry growing in the Long Beach area is fascinating and the gift shop is full of crantastic treasures to take home and enjoy.

I live for odd ball places like this! They teach you about the process of harvesting cranberries and all the hard work that goes into it. It has a self guided walking tour outside after you tour the gift shop and museum that is quite a beautiful stroll. I plan on coming back to see the final harvest in September/October just to get the whole experience. It's free to enter so it's worth stopping at.

What a fabulous place! Learned so much about the cranberry industry from the early days til present. Lots of interesting displays & informative signs. We were really impressed! It was raining a bit so we cut our walking tour of the bogs short but definitely got the feel for it. Some really unique items in the gift shop & the woman working there was super friendly. Picked up some cranberry marmalade & some cranberry marionberry jam. Highly recommend a stop here!

Before our visit to Pacific North West we had no idea where cranberries came from or how they grew.  However, thanks to our stop to cranberry museum we discovered everything cranberry. It is a bit disappointing that we are not here in October to see them wet harvested but we are grateful that we got to see what a cranberry vine looks like. Here we were able to pickup some cranberry treats at the gift shop : cranberry ice cream, cranberry caramel popcorn for the entire family, and a bottle of cranberry wine for mama to unwind. We appreciated that we were able to sit infront of the growing cranberries while we enjoyed our cranberry icecream. The museum isn't big but there is so much to learn and see inside. If your driving by you won't want to miss the cranberry museum.

The bogs we're not flooded when we came but there were still some baby cranberries!

Marsh's Free Museum is the legendary home of Jake himself (you can find him in the back). The shop is an absolute treasure trove of curiosities. It features a mix of your classic beach-town souvenirs alongside more "not-so-typical" fare, like unique books, sweatshirts, and even knives. If you have some spare quarters, the old-school mechanical games are a must-play! The service here has always been great, super attentive and friendly. As for value, some things are a little expensive, but they also have affordable stuff if you look hard enough. They are not any more expensive than any other shop in Long Beach. I always make it a point to stop here every single time I'm in Long Beach. Whether you're just starting your trek down the strip or looking for the perfect place to end your journey, this spot is a PNW essential.

There are lot of curios, from taxidermy animals to old orchestreons. A lot of the amusing displays are in the back and in corners. I would say if you have small kids to be careful bringing them in as it seems like there are a lot of delicate items, from the piles of beautiful seashells in the front, to the porcelain items in the back. It is such a fun and unique place to visit, and the best part is that it's free! Although you will definitely walk away having purchased something.

Fort Stevens is the campground for people adverse to "roughing it". There are seemingly more RV…read moresites than "traditional" tent camping ones, complete with electrical and plumbing hookups. Not to mention rentable yurts and cabins, (hot!) showers, (relatively) clean restroom facilities, and even a firewood delivery service, right to your campsite! Fort Stevens is also massive: miles of hikeable/bikeable trails, sandy beaches, a lake with a boat ramp, a shipwreck, a disc golf course, a military history museum (and gift shop), and several abandoned military installations and batteries to hike and explore. There's more to see and do here than can be experienced in a single camping trip, and after more than a half dozen visits to the park, I'm still discovering new secrets! Also, keep an eye on the various post boards around the park, in which special events, such as storybook readings, put on by the Friends of Fort Stevens, occur on many a summer night. As I mentioned earlier, this is camping only in the loosest sense of the word, in that you're sleeping outside (well, if you're not in an RV, yurt or cabin). The campsites are relatively small, and close together, but that is also part of the charm, particularly for children: they're all but guaranteed to make some new friends during your stay here, as there will be rugrats running around, skating, riding bikes, exploring, and likely yelling and screaming all around you, for as long as the daylight persists. Intimacy and privacy does not exist here. There are better places to camp in the Pacific Northwest, particularly for those who desire privacy, serenity, an escape from noise and the presence of others, and a place to commune with and be surrounded by nature (and nature only). Those places exist, but Fort Stevens is not one of them. Despite all that, I have a sentimental attachment to this place, thanks to childhood memories of camping here in my youth. Now, I'm hoping to impart similar memories on my children. Fort Stevens may not be *for* everyone, but it *has something* for everyone. If you can't see that, go get lost in the woods elsewhere.
