I explained that I need tires for offloading because I spend a lot of time on the back roads and this is why I want to truck. The sales rep told me the tires that he is going to put on I will be very happy with and if I am not to come back and they will make sure I am happy. The day after I got home I decided to take it for a drive and I couldn't get out of my driveway without putting it in 4 wheel because there was a sciff of ice in the driveway and all it did was spin. I videod it and sent it to the sales rep and his exact words were "wowzers your driveway must be crazy". My driveway doesn't even have an incline. He then sent me a photo of tires with a quote and said "I'd upgrade to these if you are going to do any off roading." He told me the tires on my truck are worth 500-600 and are good tires. Four days later March 17th) I asked for the protection package they claimed to have put on the truck as well as the paperwork from trim line. I still have not received either. That same day I asked the sales rep if he would buy back the truck and sell me my vehicle back and he said..... I don't know what to say. I'll talk to my manager in the morning. Ive never heard from him again. I decided to send the sales manager an email. One week later I still did not have a reply so I sent him another one. He called and left a vm saying he made several attempts to contact me. I have no record of this. He said he wants to work with me to resolve this and asked if we can talk. Last Friday, April 2nd at 6:52 pm he sent me a text asking if he can call me the next morning, as he is travelling right now. I said sure, he responded with ok. I'm still waiting for the call. The sales manager told me in a text that he was under the understanding that I was told the tires that were on the truck are being replaced with stock tires when it sold. He said he tires that are on the truck now are stock tires and all Tacoma's come with the same tires. Except that this is not a new vehicle and the tires that were on the truck are what got my attention. The vehicle I traded in had brand new 1400. tires on them that I could have taken off and replaced with cheap 500-600 tires, but I didn't because I went to the dealership with these tires and that's how I presented my vehicle to them. I am not letting this go until I get what I paid for. My suggestion to anyone wanting to purchase a Toyota is to make the drive to Castlegar and deal with them. Alpine Toyota'a word is cheap just like the tires they put on my truck after they sold it to me!

We made it to the Honda dealership suspecting that the alternator had failed. Even though we were in an Acura, the staff were right there to help us, waiting in air conditioned comfort, pup allowed in as well. The part had to be brought in, but Honda has a special relationship with Budget and we got a fancy Ford Explorer as a rental at a great rate on a holiday weekend to make it to our destination that day. By then, the car was totally dead, but the staff jumped the car so we could unlock the doors and transfer all our stuff. Don was absolutely great to deal with, so calm and professional. He really saved the day, and our holiday!

We were combining this vehicle service trip along with a medical appointment to eliminate the travel and cost associated with two separate trips. When we arrived I was told that the appointment I made was only good for the front end service people and did not include service work by the shop. When I told the service agent that we had another appointment in the city he could care less and would not give me a service commitment until I provided all of my pertinent details (address, telephone etc.). I told him that he first needed to let me know when my vehicle would be looked at so that I could determine if we would have time to complete our second appointment (medical). He refused......so I asked for my keys back and told him we were now going to use Chalet Chevrolet in Kimberley from now on. We had stopped using North Star a few years ago because of poor quality service.....we will never be back now. I would not recommend anyone use this dealership.
