I normally have extremely tight shoulders and neck muscles, which only got worse since attending dental school. I originally came in for an acute neck/shoulder pain that left me immobilized about a year ago. Even though I tried to make a last minute appointment, he tried to squeeze me into his schedule as soon as possible, which happened to be within 15mins of my call. He was able to effectively identify the problem and provide treatment that allowed for me to be mobile and regain range of motion again. He also gave me at home exercises to do at home on my own and even checked up to see how I was doing the day after my appointment, which showed how much he geninuely cares. Ever since then, I've dropped in a couple times when I've had neck or shoulder flareups, and I really appreciate how he tries to treat the source of the problem and doesn't try to sell me. He made a comment about my body, joking "Don't I eat?" since I am skinny, and then he proceeded to make comments about people who gain weight after college and referred to them as "whales." As a skinny person, it did not make me feel safe in the office and his further comments also make me concerned for fat patients who come in and receive care here. This moment made me hope that the staff receives more training in this area for patient care.
