Treasure Chest Collectibles offers a mix of items at reasonable prices. I occasionally visit and…read moredon't always find something to buy but this weekend I grabbed a handful of vintage trading cards (used and new/sealed) and a couple magazines. Even better, I was surprised to learn comic books were on sale so I got additional money off the latter purchases! The store isn't large and consists of four distinct parts: the front area, three small rooms, and a hallway connecting them all. Up front you'll find numerous trading cards and knick-knacks adorning the shelves. The first room on your right houses more traditional antique store offerings. Up one room (my personal favorite) is the toy collectibles wing. Think action figures and comic books. The final room is seasonal themed--mostly Halloween and Christmas. That one's kitschy to me but does open up the shop to more types of buyers who might find themselves in a holiday mood. Lastly, the hallway has videos and CDs, all a hearkening back to the physical media past. One thing I REALLY appreciate about Treasure Chest Collectibles is how they tag their items. By gently affixing sticky note-like labels to each piece, there's no annoying residential goo once you remove a tag. (Take note, Stuff, Etc. and others). Open your own box of old goodies waiting to be discovered at this small but fun place.

The indifferent: staff is friendly but a little too "worried" about "sticky fingers". I'm an honest guy, you don't need to stare me down - nonetheless, I understand they are protective of their store and treasures. Maybe I was just having a good hair day? The bad: one of the most horribly overpriced antique stores I've ever been in my life! Yikes. We would go again to look at the pretties but wouldn't mortgage our house to buy anything.

Keeping in mind it is a used store so the selection can be limited, I thought they had many books and authors to choose from. They also carry games, puzzles, CDs and records.

All in all it is the same problem that has ruined "thrifting." Cheaper than new - obviously. But a new book at $12.99 is selling for like $8.99. Better to shop goodwill bins as books are some of the last affordable things at thrift stores. As a seller I took $70 for a collection of about 200 quality dvds. sold individually on eBay or Amazon if I had the time probably $500-1000. Same with the books. I have gotten $50 for a case of 100/150 best selling hardbacks. You never know as one time I brought in quality mint condition coffee table books - my offer for the lot of 50... $2. So I don't know what the deal is but the worst thing is they don't return your books. Some they take and will throw away or donate because the don't want to offend. I wish I had the option to take the books they knew they were gonna trash. All in all, they are only game in town u nless you want to do this full time. And I see them taking advantage. But that's our America. Read they are private family owned. Interesting.

Their hunting dept. employees could use some training in customer service. They didn't treat me horrible, just kind of talked down to me. I pointed out some of their pricing as to some other local stores and guy kind of chuckled and said well, we're just not going to price match. I said ok, no problem. A more recent visit to this dept. I mistakenly was thinking of a local competitors ad when asking a question of their stock, and I apologized for my mistake and taking up his time. Which he was more than condescending tone with his reply, that's OOOK, I get questions like that all the time, you didn't waste my time at all. I'm 68, I like a good deal , quality and I look for value and just a little courtesy. I don't need to be treated special, I just don't need talked down to, or dude splainined to. I know these two particular gentlemen won't care, but I did make three pretty substantial purchases, just not from Fleet Farm. Big mistake Huge!

**Car Wash Warning**…read more I would not recommend using the car wash here. My Tesla got scratched after using the car wash here for the first time. I submitted a claim to Corporate and was met with a Corporate Karen who told me, "I just can't reasonably foresee paying out your claim." Her reasoning was that if something was caught in the brushes, it would've left a very distinct scratch on my car. Apparently, she's an expert in every single way a car can be scratched by every unknown item that can possibly ever get caught in car wash brushes. My paint was perfect before going in, and now I have this mark on my Tesla thanks to this. The best thing about having a Tesla is that it video records in sentry mode, so when one of the employees was inspecting my car he said, "ya, this scratch definitely looks like it's from something caught in the brush because of the way the paint is laid back on it where it's scratched. I sure hope corporate pays this claim for you, they definitely should!" Well, unfortunately, the lady from Corporate just got an attitude with me and decided not to do anything about the damage caused. Stay away from here at all costs.
