Bring your heart monitor. The food is all of a fair to good quality and there's tons of variety, if you like fried things. They have their own quirks (pay first, refill drinks by putting a sign on the table, warehouse setting/decor), but service is excellent and friendly and only there when you ask for it. Restaurant serves a lot (hundreds) of people, so the lines can be long - but I've never had that long of a wait. If you can manage to go around 4:30-5:00, you have a better experience. I hate to leave bad reviews but so many things about this place are going downhill. The food is still good but the bar needs better attendance. People dropping food into other food dishes, things dropped on the floor and left? Then on more than one occasion, every table was dirty and we had to go find a waitress to clean one off for us. The poor waitresses that do show up are severely overworked! We brought out of town guests with us tonight and it was honestly embarrassing! This USED to be a great place and one of our favorites but there is no way I would recommend it the way it is now, which is sad. Its like the owners have lost interest in it. They used to come around checking with everyone. Now you never see them. Before Covid, there was two bars running and lines out the door. Never has regained its former glory. To say this is a hidden gem is an understatement! It was Friday night and we'd just driven into Tupelo. We wanted fried fish so we started doing our online searches. This place only came up on a map search. We got back into the car and drove out to it. When we pulled up, the place looks dark and almost inviting from the outside. But don't let that fool you. We walked in and were greeted by the warmest Southern Welcome, by both employees and locals out eating dinner. LOL The food? Crazy good! Don't like fried catfish? Sample it just to see. Meatloaf?! I've never been to a catfish buffet before. It was good! They had catfish, talapia, fried chicken, hush puppies, Mac n cheese, fries, onion rings, greens, fried okra, fried green tomatoes, rolls, coleslaw, etc. This place is in the middle of nowhere and looks like an old warehouse. It's kinda scary on the outside and on the inside, but the place was packed. It's not the best catfish I've ever had, but like I said it is is good for all you eat catfish. We went for my grandmother birthday and she wasn't even satisfied. The back room smelled like a basement with a hint of mildew. My grandmother was VERY unhappy with the undercooked soggy fish. The outdated bathroom with wood paneling walls ....(I am lost for words). The buffet area with NO lights (what are you hiding), random rust spots with an unkept base and flooring nearby. I nearly gagged when I went to get ice cream and the filthy, disgusting water the ice cream scooper sits it....I failed to mention that after making it through the "Fort Knox" entrance - we were hounded for our receipts in order to get our drink order from our waitress. Very disappointed in my experience today. My family has a large group that comes here every year during a family reunion and I highly doubt that tradition will continue into the future. A smaller group of us stopped in this afternoon for the catfish buffet. The owner / manager was extremely rude with a condescending attitude. And, yes, you did mean for your comments to come across in that vein. Also, in my opinion the food is overpriced for the value that is received. I heard about this place from some friends and decided to try it. Depending on where you live it can be a little out of the way but all in all not hard to get to and worth the trip if the menu suits you. We arrived to what looked like a packed house for a Saturday night but when we walked in it was actually pretty quiet for a Walmart on blitz size crowd. We walked up and payed for our plates and was instructed to find a table we liked and sit down. We found an empty booth and sat down. They have these little red cards and a small pole you put the card on top of as a flag of sorts to order service. When the waitress stripped by she got our drink order and we hit the buffet. That all they have apparently. The buffet is pretty long and well stocked fried and baked fish and a variety of other dishes and sides. We began to eat and quickly approved of the food! If you want fried food and plenty of it, this is the place for you. I visited this place on a work trip since my coworkers raved about the food. Apparently they are only open Thursday through Sunday or something like that, and I think it's also the only restaurant in Blue Springs. There's pretty much nothing in Blue Springs! I had been warned about the atmosphere -- a big metal building with rows and rows of tables, and huge buffet stations filled with all the fried goodness of the south. I have to say, I was still a little shocked at all the fried food. I didn't even know what most of it was, since it all looked brown and there were no signs for what each item was. Thank goodness there is at least a salad bar, but basically lettuce and no other veggies. I did manage to find some green beans among all the brown.
