The room was quiet, the food was fantastic- ordered off a tri-fold MENU like at a restaurant 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM whatever you wanted on the menu was there fast.

outstanding hospital and always my first choice! i have always been treated with dignity, respect,…read more and gotten excellent care, from their ER in particular. more than once, i have left mercy medical center' in Sioux city and gone to St. Luke's due to long waits, or wrong diagnosis (missed appendicitis and telling me it's the FLU? really?) i am impressed with everything about the ER department. you walk directly into the department to an actual desk (not someone behind a plate glass window) and the staff shows concern. they never seem "bothered" when someone asks a nurse a question, they just answer it and then gently direct them to the waiting room wait times are reasonable as far as a hospital waiting rooms go. professional and thorough treatment from all the staff. i recommend st. luke's hospital to anyone who visits Sioux city.

They were like all the staff professional and prolite. Every one did their jobs but made sure i was comfortable and my pain was in control. Donna in financial services was outstanding in helped us understand the financial situation. She deserved employee of the year. Dr. Kristine Danner is the most knowledgeable Dr. I've ever meet. She is friendly but professional. She cares about how the patient is doing overall. She covers all the possibilities of the issue and all the possi bilities of treatment. She also deserves to be employee of the two years. I'd love to have her be my Dr.

Mercy ICU is dangerous. They are understaffed and the nurses arrogantly disregard what the…read moreneurologist says. NEVER leave a loved one alone in there, because if their heart stops, the staff might not even notice (yes they are being sued for that exact thing) No many how many Daisy Awards a nurse has, it still doesn't make her a good person. And there are BAD Nurses there. Choose a different hospital but if you are forced to use Mercy, make sure that you are never left alone!!

If you find yourself needing medical assistance, consider yourself blessed if you're sent to the ICU at St.Luke's. When I first arrived via ambulance, they unloaded me onto the bed in ICU Room 10. From there, it was a flurry of gloved hands and intrusive wires as four masked angels descended on me like vultures on roadkill. They hooked me up, checked my vitals, and kindly welcomed me, in a matter of seconds. (It was super speedy,l I almost missed it. These people are turbo-charged, no lie.) For the next 9 hours, I was thrilled they left my door open so I could hear all the conversation at the nurses' station. It's nice to know these people, who deal with such intimate and scary cases on a daily basis, can keep their sense of humor in the wake of it all. My nurse, Kendra, who looks half her age and carries herself with the grace of a beauty queen, was so sincerely kind and helpful and didn't bat a beautiful eyelash at any request I had. She made me so comfortable and eased any embarrassment I had. She answered all my questions with the wisdom of a thousand fortune cookies. When I was frightened, she helped to calm me with a gentle mix of shoulder pats and pharmaceuticals. And don't get me started on the support staff. From the cheerful gentleman who emptied the sharps boxes to the nursing assistants, from techs to housekeeping, everyone was just as nice as an old friend. I am so glad I found myself at St.Luke's. I mean, I'm not, but I am. *Points deducted for lack of petting zoo and ice cream parlor. *Update: The DO have a petting zoo. I'm not surprised.
