I am quite disabled diagnosed in 1973 w/RA. 50+ yrs later it didn't get better. In fact now I have painful neuropathy in my right side, need a knee replacement for a year. The pain can be excruciating. I can't work. I applied for financial aid in September. I had computer issues which has caused me to reapply because that's what Tracey said. I did but there's a document from the SD DSS that I need to get my application completed. Penny at the State tells me I don't need when I called. I told her that Tracey is anal retentive & insists. Well Penny didn't send it she sent me a new application There's a urgency to get some medical care & financial aid. Tracey apparently can spend 10 minutes on the phone with me telling me how she can't/won't call Penny & ask her to fax the document that would have taken 4 minutes. I understand that Dunes has been hit with a 12.7 mil judgement and probably shouldn't be approving financial aid. Tracey your lack of compassion & BS has led me to write this review. I…read moreremember the call vividly as I was asked if I needed an exam for both contacts and glasses in which I stated just glasses. I had also asked if my insurance was on file and if the benefits would apply towards glasses for this appointment. I went today as was told I was not on the schedule. I asked to talk to the office manager as this is the second time that I have gone for an appointment only to leave without being seen. The office manager (Misty) Dr. Hedquists wife told me how it was impossible for me to have an appointment, she was defensive, and argumentative with me when I explained that I had called weeks ago to schedule this. She somehow felt she was owed the right to get upset with me when I explained that I could not sit there and wait to be squeezed in, this is why I scheduled an appointment so I could be seen at the time I could make work. I did not have time to be "squeezed in". She also felt the need to throw in my face that I had an appointment in Oct 2024 that was cancelled. That appointment was cancelled because I sat in the lobby for 45min past my appointment time and needed to leave to get my daughter from daycare. I explained this to Misty, she then continued arguing with me. I was amazed. Not the smallest amount of concern came from her. Dr.Hedquist has always been great which is why I have been a patient for many years, the staff there has always been pleasant and helpful, the office is typically such an upbeat and pleasant place to visit. This was my first encounter with Misty, her overall lack of compassion and understanding was mind boggling. I will mention Dr. Hedquist called me later on and apologized for what happened and did seem genuinely concerned about the situation, which is the complete opposite of what I experienced when dealing with Misty at the office. To blame the patient, argue, and show no concern for your patient is not someone who is meant to be dealing with patients.

I have a lot of fluid in my legs and abdomen because I have liver disease. And my thighs are really…read more'chubby' because of the fluid so when I started to develop what I called 'bruises' all over my thighs and stomach (excess skin from losing 130lbs semi-recently) I just figured the bruises formed because my legs rubbing against each other. I went to show my regular doctor and she was really concerned so she referred me to a dermatologist since I didn't have one already. Dr. Grote took a look and was a little surprised/confused himself on what was on my legs, so we took a biopsy in two spots to get checked out. Aside of the pain from the rash (as it's now being referred to as) they biopsy didn't show cancer or anything else I should be super worried about, except both doctors here have no idea what this rash is. So they're sending me to Omaha to figure out what it is. So yeah, this clinic doesn't have the resources it needs for me, but I consider sending me to a specialist good practice because it proves the doctors care and want me to be well. (I just really want the pain.) Dr. Grote couldn't prescribe me anything because of my liver disease. The clinic is clean, the receptionist women are super nice and one of the nurses even gave me a bunch of good bandages to help me keep my stitches clean. (From the biopsy.) If I ever come across the need for a dermatologist again, I'll be heading to this clinic first.

I called and spoke with Christine and Siouxland Podiatry and she was very helpful and friendly, and offered the office email to send the scanned image of the X-Ray and she would have a doctor take a look. Of course they couldn't give me an official diagnosis, but they were willing to take time to look at the image and give me their "off the record" opinion on the steps to take until I got back to the US and could receive proper treatment. Of course this was a very unusual situation everyone involved was in, but they were extremely understanding and resourceful in giving me professional advice I was hoping for. I can't thank this office enough.

When I presented my retired ID card to you it wasn't good enough. You insisted you needed my Tricare card when I've never had or used one in the 21 years I've been retired. What I have to say to you is you're one of the most irrelevant, lazy people I've ever met in my life. Isn't it your job to validate my insurance? Was that to much effort for you? The doctor I saw told me he didn't think I needed cataract surgery after my local optometrist said I definitely needed it and referred me to your clinic. Now, I wonder if you got in your doctor's ear and questioned my insurance? My role in the Air Force was as a Medical Group Superintendent. A few years ago I dislocated a few ribs and Dr. Manley made sure I was not only comfortable, but my treatments were as pain-free as possible. He took great care of me and now I have zero issues with my ribs. Recently I've been going to Dr. Obbink for acupuncture. I knew nothing about the practice and he spent a good deal of time explaining it to me in terms and metaphors that I absolutely understood. He is very kind, personable, and professional. As is Dr. Manley. I rarely have to wait when I go. Even if you do their waiting areas are wonderful and the doctors' staff takes great care of you. This clinic also has an arrangement of vitamins and supplements you can purchase, along with shoe insoles and flip-flops that don't completely kill your back by the end of the day. I'll be going to this doctor until they retire and I'll for sure trust whomever they choose to replace them.

He takes the time to understand what is happening, does a thorough assessment while cognizant of what your insurance does or does not pay for, he matches interventions to your lifestyle so they are manageable, and he genuinely cares about his patients. His adjustments are gentle yet effective, and always gave relief from the problems I saw him for. He is not one of those chiropractors that keep you coming back when you don't need it--yet they always managed to get me in when something flared up. (People with chronic back problems understand how that goes.) The support staff is friendly and efficient. I was always out of there in less than 40 minutes, unless I had a massage before my adjustment (LMT Rod got out kinks I've had for years--aaahhhhh). Dr. Obbink is good, too (just not my regular physician)-gentle and knowledgeable, plus he does acupuncture and I've heard good things about his results. I have moved away and Dr. Manley's care is one of the things I miss the most.
