HORRIBLE! We had Crawford install numerous Pella doors and windows and we had endless mistakes that were NEVER fixed, despite many many calls and conversations with the team. The screens are the wrong size and let bugs in the bottom, there were missing parts to the windows for months, the doors have major condensations and are dripping/leaking water. It is a fulltime job dealing with these guys and they seems to get a kick out of screwing people over. DO NOT USE THEM. read more

I have to leave a review contrary to those by some others. I have also had Crawford install new doors, new windows and replacement windows. I have had nothing but true professional and caring service, and I don't hesitate to contact them-sometimes kinda pissy too. When I had any issue, Denise [scheduler] and Chad [service tech] dealt with it immediately and kindly. Even when Chad saw a different issue than the one I may have called about, it was dealt with and fixed. All the new construction doors and windows are PERFECT. As for replacement windows, though very nice especially with the fold down feature making cleaning easy peasy, I just think in general, new construction is better. I had 2-8' new construction windows put in last summer-wonderful and 8 replacements on a 50 year old house. They're fine, but there's something about replacement that doesn't quite seem as "tight" as new. BUT to do all of those windows would've cost a fortune and what we did was expensive enough for us. I have had Pella (Crawford Windows and Doors) install new windows across my entire house over the course of the last 8 months. It was done in 2 projects. July of 2023 we installed new windows in the front of the house, and in February 2024 we installed new windows in the back of the house. Total work done was we replaced 33 windows and 2 sliding glass doors. Total paid $106,856.05. No small job. 3 of our old windows were also converted into one large bay window. We had previously used Pella (Crawford) back in our old house in 2013 and were impressed with the work. The first job at this house in July 2023 went smoothly, although I was glad I was around to supervise. Often the install crew would not do small things like not place enough spray foam insulation in the cavity. Overall they did fine. Pella, or Crawford did screw up one item, they sent 2 wrong window sizes for our master bedroom. Luckily the windows did fit my daughter's bedroom in the back of the house, so I told the crew to install them in her room as they would be done next year anyways. They did have to come back another day a couple months later to have the 2 remaining master bedroom windows finished. They did give me a discount on the 2 windows for the mistake. 2 of the windows in the front are extremely loud opening and closing them. My sales person told me that was normal as they are new windows. 31 windows are silent but 2 are not and that's normal? Obviously a lie. Given that everything went well we obviously wanted them back to do the remaining windows and doors in the house. This time around installation was completed in 2/2024. This did not go as well, the install crew basically failed to tell me about rotting wood around a few of the windows, I pointed it out to my salesman and then to the crew the next day. Same small issues with this crew, they needed constant supervision to be sure they were doing things correctly, this is not really my job.... Clear chalking was never installed on any windows, on some of them you can feel a draft where the wood is not tightly fitting. They charge for the silicone why not use it? When all the work was finished. I was missing 2 screen doors for my new sliding glass doors, I was told they came damaged and needed to be ordered. I am also missing a window screen on 1 window that was never installed. I reached out 9 days ago to Pella (Crawford) to ask when they would be installed and received no response. A lack of response is very unprofessional. Every customer should receive excellent customer service, especially ones that spend six figures with you. In the end Pella charges Ritz Carlton prices but provides Motel 6 service.... The house had Anderson Windows originally maybe I should have stuck with them. read more

I had two new large crank out windows installed and as part of my purchase I also got new pull down/retractable screens. I have riverfront property in Waterford and chose these screens because I could leave the screens pulled up when the windows were not open to enjoy the view, and pull them down on warmer days when I wanted to enjoy a breeze. When pulled down, the screens were supposed to secure themselves to bottom of the window casing. Within a day or so of installation, the screens would not stay down but instead flew back up like rockets to the top of the window. The screens were unusable, which meant the large casement windows could not be opened. I contacted Crawford, waited over a month for new parts to arrive, and scheduled a repair appointment. The technician arrived at my house, but with only new screen. He installed it, but he couldn't get it to stay in the down position. He then told me this was a frequent issue, and that Pella had introduced a locking mechanism that would keep the screen down. He called the office from my house, and told me Crawford would order new parts. At that pint, I had now been unable to open these windows for 6 months as a result of no screens. Again waited over a month for new parts, and when they finally arrived I had another installation appointment a month from when the parts arrived. The technician came to the house, and unbelievably AGAIN only had parts for one new and improved screen. I called Crawford while he was there, spoke to service rep who assured me the service manager would be calling me, but that didn't happen. I called the service manager MULTIPLE times and left messages, and to this day I have never gotten a return call. One very expensive Pella crank out casement window, over a year later, still has no screen. Service manager never responded to my many messages. I plan to sue them in small claims court this summer. WARNING!!! Like others here have said, the windows are great but Crawford service is non-existent so if you purchase any of these beautiful and very expensive windows, you are on your own if you have any kind of problem and need service. One star is aa generous overstatement. 5 residential windows to be installed should take one day. Well, the job started in June 2022 and is still incomplete. The windows were mounted but the trim was cut to the wrong size. The windows are basically filing the hole in the wall. No trim, no framing. It's a second home that is not occupied and we need one days notice to make sure we are there. In October I get a call that the installer will be there. He doesn't show up. In November I get a call that he is at the house. well, I'm more than two hours away. Haven't heard from them since. Several emails to Chase Winegard, the installation manager have gone unanswered. Telephone calls go to an answering machine, no response. Unacceptable service. Too bad, I have 7 other windows to replace and a patio door. Looks like Anderson is a better choice. read more

My review in detail is on BBB site. The main issue is my kitchen window installed is leaking water and I cannot get anyone to respond. The whole process was a disaster and I was going to keep my opinion to myself. But this has pushed me too far. How do you not respond to a customer when its leaking? Really all customers regardless of spend should be treated the same I spent 90K. Complete disregard for service after the sale. Do not even think about using Crawford. read more

Working with sales was Great. All went very well. Install went well except for showing up 3 hrs later than promised. Things happen and I get that. But I had to keep calling to find out what was going on instead of being informed. All and all, they did finish as promised and we are very happy with the windows. We will definitely be using them in the future. Including the install team. read more

its too bad there isn't another local pella dealerbecause I love the product. we had one window installed over our kitchen sink. we paid extra to have it stained to match our sliding door nearby. installer was a sub contractor but was really good, he actually pointed out to me that the stain was darker than it was supposed to be. I called the salesman, he told me he would have to come out to see. he arrived the following week, very defensive and agitate, noticed his hands were shaking. I asked for the reimbursement of the staining charge since it was incorrect and we would correct it, to which he agreed pending his bosses approval...which he did. I've received nothing. read more

Installation was done quickly, professionally, and accurately. Ours was a more complex install, with a window above the slider, but handled nicely. Pella Windows and Doors are of the highest quality and look great on our house. However their installation by the local franchise Crawford Door & Window was very spotty depending upon the complexity of the project and install team assigned to the job. We first used them in June 2021 to install $25K worth of doors. The job was completed very satisfactorily so we hired them again to install $40K more in doors and windows in March 2022. This second job was much more sophisticated and Crawford sent a group of contract employees who were not up to the task. They were not prepared for their assignment and there was poor communication and corporate supervision. They were general handymen while the job required more skilled professionals. They blew out the circuit board on our handicap lift when they cut some wires to the door ($2K to fix) and were clearly not capable of installing the window trim in our newly renovated kitchen so I asked them to leave it ($2K for kitchen renovation company to install). We had to ride them to correct their errors: insulation was not added, windows wouldn't open, trim poorly installed etc. Most insulting was that their salesman showed up 5 minutes after the job was completed looking for payment and he didn't even have a copy of the final invoice. I'm pretty sure they thought we weren't going to pay because they knew they had really screwed up!! Pella makes a great window and door but if they are not installed well the quality of the product is superficial. read more

We had a great experience with Crawford installing our Pella windows, and can't recommend them more highly. Jeremy and his crew showed up promptly at 9 am two days straight, and worked hard both days, removing the old windows, installing the new windows, and cleaning up as they went from window to window. When they were done, everything looked so right that you couldn't tell that a fairly major construction project had just been completed. And the windows look great! read more

From inaccurate measurements, poor installation, condescending customer service reps, and an installer who spent much of his time loudly cursing at his helper, this company provided me with the absolute worst nightmare home improvement project I have ever experienced in thirty years of home ownership. Aside from the emotional strains of working with such incompetence, they also cost me several thousand additional dollars in repairs to the poor workmanship they performed. They did not stand by their service and reneged on promises to make it financially right. For $6,000, they incorrectly installed 8/11 windows I was entitled to. Two months later, I am finally able to have my own hired contractor come in and repair all of the damage to my home. read more

Crawford Doors & Windows is the WORST Pella installation company!!! They charge heaps of $ and send an installer out that does this type of work. When you call to complain they give you the runaround and it took me many, many, many calls, including one to the BBB, after which they finally returned my calls and agreed to make amends. I actually had to request several times they NOT send the same installer - they thought it appropriate to send the same guy, which I found really really odd. If he effed it up the first time how would I be confident he would do a good job the second time around? Hello??? Argh. I requested they also give me a partial refund on payment due to the time involved to rectify this situation and they absolutely refused. Oh, and btw, they take FULL payment up front, weeks and weeks before the job is even done. WHAT CONTRACTOR DOES THAT???? I also contacted Pella's home office as Crawford is merely a franchisee, and THEY refunded me $250 for my troubles seeing as Crawford wouldn't!!!!! Biggest thieves out there and they don't even do good work - DON'T BOTHER WITH CRAWFORD!!!! FIND ANOTHER FRANCHISE THAT SELLS PELLA OR GO ANDERSON OR MARVIN!!!! I literally just signed up for Yelp so that I could stress how awful Crawford Door & Window's is. I read through the other review and honestly their experience was identical to mine! This says a lot in my opinion! My Husband and I have been dealing with the same issue for the past 4 months but don't worry, they charged us in full before even hanging up the phone to schedule the install appointment. The entire summer has gone by and we still do not have our screen door. One of their employees, Carol, is a complete waste. She never apologized or followed up with any of my multiple complaints and calls. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was transferred into a voicemail. I left a detailed message demanding a call back and NEVER received a call! The best part of my experience was when I was told that everyone was in a "customer service" meeting. I couldn't help but laughed so hard at Carol. Ridiculous! This place needs to be SHUT DOWN. read more

They just installed all the windows in our new home and their follow up on this job has been fantastic. Quick response and solutions that work. They even replaced 2 windows that were just a little loose and could have probably been tightened but they wanted to start new on those 2 windows. What do you think of a business that over a 10 year span sells you and family members 50 windows and when one of those windows needs a new screen because the home was broken into they want to charge you almost $200.00. This is a fact. Their associate Linda when first measuring the broken screen measured improperly. That is, she was measuring the bent in section thus the new screen would have been too small. I had to show her how to measure. She then tells me that I cannot receive an estimate until I email her the glass dimensions of the window and the frame dimensions. What is worse is that within three (3) days she sends me an estimate. A $200.00 estimate but it was for a full screen and not the half screen I showed her. I asked to speak with the service manager on three (3) different occassions. The service manager never bothered to return my calls, answer the voice mails or respond to my request when I spoke with his secretary. TALK ABOUT A COMPANY THAT HAS NO CLUE ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. So if you are thinking of Pella Windows from Crawford Doors and Windows, THINK AGAIN. Do you want to do business with a company that treats it customers the way I was treated.
