This was my first experience at crazy horse. We got seated pretty quickly. Waitress was very friendly service was quick. We always had full water pitcher. We started with the maple Sriracha wings ($21) It comes with carrots and celery pieces with a little dip (not sour cream). We placed an order for ribeye steak. You get to pick two side sides, which a lot of of them are very interesting, and you get one choice of sauce. I personally picked the mashed potato and loaded potato. I know potato heaven. I ordered it my steak med/rare it came out like perfection. Very decent steak to be honest, I was really surprised. A fave spot even with SO many other great restos in the west. It's unique. Who else smokes their wings? We opted for burger night tonight and .. just, so good. Meaty. Fresh. Fries were hot, crispy and well seasoned. My fave.. Crispy Cowboy. The burgers are half off on Weds for $12. Wine, half off. Nick, we always have him serving us - great guy. Funny and cute. It gets loud as the night goes on but a lot of parties happen here for golf, birthdays, retirement, etc. Can't wait to come back. You can't go wrong no matter what you order here. My son and I had wings, 2 striploins, apple crumble and the pretzel brownie. This was our first time here since we're not from the area. Our steaks were excellent which seems to be getting hard to find when dining out, the portions were generous, and we left full. To top it off the service was also excellent. I had never heard of cooking anything on a lava rock until I ate here. I liked it so much I went on line and bought one for home. It's fun and produces amazing seared meats, but it's easily the most dangerous dinner I've ever made, so maybe best to leave it to the professionals. You can't toss a hockey puck in Ottawa without hitting a steak place so the competition is fierce, but I'd rate Crazy Horse as my favorite. Only slight bummer is that I always arrive on Monday evenings when I go to Ottawa for business and they're closed on Monday nights so I don't get to go as often as I'd like. read more

Good deals on Wednesday: burgers $12 and craft Mill Street $6 Thursday: wings half price $8 Wings with the house BBQ Pit sauce are highly recommended. My friend had the suicide and it was better than just cheap hot sauce. The fries were good and fresh too. They have one of my favourite craft beers (Cobblestone stout) on tap too. This place was highly recommended by our friends who live here. We had a similar experience with a hot stone grill when we were on vacation recently so we wanted to experience it again! The place itself is Gorgeous beautiful rustic homey/ranch feel. It is very beautiful. There is lots of free parking in the back. Service: excellent. We made reservations and we were greeted very nicely at the resto. We had to go through all the covid measures first but it wasn't that long and were seated quickly. Our tables were high chairs it wasn't the most comfortable but that's ok. The food itself was good! I chose strip loin as my cut it came out raw as you yourself have to cook it on the stone ! The issue was the meat wasn't seasoned at all it was bland :/ I wish we had it seasoned or brought out seasonings on the side: The spinach dip was good too but it wasn't Thick enough The tortillas were stale .. My Caesar salad was Exceptional! Loved it! Super fresh and lots of real bacon and Parmesan.. very yummy 5/5 My mushrooms and onions were sautéed with butter delicious and spot on 5/5 My seasonal veggies were steamed but bland and undercooked. The food was ok but lacked seasoning. Was in Ottawa and decided to check out this place in Kanata. The restaurant is located in the city of Kanata inside an area with lots of shops and restaurants. Parking is abundant but I can't recall if there was any public transit nearby. The staff are super friendly and go out of the way to welcome you and explain anything on the menu. I decided to try there specialty which was the steak on the hot stone. Grill. I stated off with a Caesar salad. This was one of the best salads I have had in a long time. Super fresh with over the top amounts of bacon and the dressing was so good and loads of Parmesan cheese. This is a must to try. Next was the signature steak on the hot stone I chose the strip sirloin with side of veggies and mushrooms and onions. The steak was for sure over 20 ounces. So you take the steak and cut it up in pieces and put it on the stone to cook. I am assuming the stone was seasoned which gave the steak a great flavor. So if you overcook you steak you have no one to blame but yourself. Lololol. The steak was a nice cut with some good marbling in eat. It was nice to do but took some time to cook the whole steak. It's a must try as it was the talking point at the table . The vegetables were fresh and not frozen and were grilled to perfection and seasoned lightly with salt and paper. The mushroom and onion mixture was not to my taste as I found them over cooked maybe even a bit burnt taste. Not much seasoning on them. A lot of hype, but just okay. Drinks: - Goose Honkers Ale (CN$7.08). A decent ale that is on draught - Classic Martini (CN$ 8.85). A shallow pour that filled only 1/2 the Martini glass. Entree: Top Sirloin-10 oz (CN$ 33.00). The steak can be grilled by their Chef over a flame, or you can choose to cook it yourself on a heated stone. I chose to have the Chef prepare it, and all steaks include a choice of sauces. Although the steak was prepared as I ordered (Medium Rare), it didn't have a good outer crust to lock-in the juices. So, that's the reason the give you a choice of sauces--because you will need something to make up for the dry texture and lack of seasoning. Truly, I expected a lot better for a $33 steak. Sorry, but I can't recommend it. Service: I sat at the bar, and the service was attentive. She wasn't overly friendly, and I was 1 of 2 people sitting at the bar. Ambiance: A country western theme with a lot of Texas-based decor. I'm a Texan, and I haven't seen that much Texas decor in a Texas Bar. Haha! Just Do Not. My wife and I were both sick after eating here. This was one of the worst meals we had and not one but two of us got sick. We had lunch here and were ill all afternoon and evening. We should have known something was up with the bread they served was coarse, rough and clearly old. We thought the main meal would be better. No, stay away. I feel ill even writing this review because of how much I heaved. Do not eat here or have anything off the grill. Either the meat is old and rotten or they are not following sanitary practices. All I can say is comprised of two words: Stay.Away. Average at best. Dropped in around 8 pm on a Friday evening for drinks and apps. Service was... neutral. Neither great nor terrible. My husband's drink was fine, my cocktail was ok. We did the stone grill steak and shrimp app, and deep fried pickles. The pickles were great (not a tough ask!) with good sauce, and the meats were cooked to perfection of course, but the "garlic butter" (oil?) and bbq sauce were awful. Overall, I'm very glad I opted to not try a $35+ steak from here, and will stick to a steakhouse where the atmosphere, service, and quality match the prices. You slice up your steak and it cooks right on the "stone grill" on your plate. So your steak ends up cooked exactly how you want it!! Of course, you can also order your steak to be grilled up by the chefs, as well as a variety of other menu options, like steak salads and ribs (my coworker could not stop raving about the mac&cheese). The staff at the crazy horse went above and beyond to ensure my order was delivered and even hand delivered it themselves to ensure my meal was served. I was at a fundraiser for Team Diabetes on Friday. A few of us went early for dinner....The service as great, but it didn't make up for the disappointing meal. The deep fried pickles were amazing, but the 30$ steak that I got was half fat, the potatoes were very starchy, but the green beans were good. Throughout the night, the live band was good, DJ was fun and fairly helpful for the fundraiser. The venue itself wasn't as helpful as I had hoped...and the drinks were quite pricey. read more

Given the choice, I would give this place a 3.5 stars, I've been there 3 times, and every time it's been a different experience! At night when they've got music, be prepared to go out late and be out very late! It gets loud and raucous and lots of fun! Oh and their entertainment of choice is country music! 'k I admit it - even though I'm not a huge country music fan, I do love Gord Bamford! Missed this event though as it was invitation only (I believe?). Their events often start around 9;00pm. But we ate here on the 18th - and I just knew I wanted something grilled on a sizzling hot stone!! Everybody raves about these here. Well ok - I ordered a bison steak on the rock. Ladies and Gentlemen - it was wonderful! Not overspiced, nor was it over or under cooked (even though I had to cook it myself); my meal was very tasty. Other people in our party ordered pasta, fish, and a burger. Everyone was happy with their meal. The other bonus for this event was that we went early - 6:00pm on a Sunday - and it was relatively quiet. One final note: this restaurant is upscale on the price side. Most of the menu items are in the mid-twenties, and that's without the drinks! We did not have desert there, and it cost nearly $60.00. Our appetizers were delicious, drink choices were plentiful, and the music was great. I had a chance to finally try the stone grill steak last month. Seems odd to go out for dinner and cook it yourself, but after some disappointing (and overcooked) steaks at other places in town, this is a cool way to do it! And, if you blow it, you have nobody to blame but yourself. The mushrooms were cooked just right, and the onion petals were lightly breaded and definitely done to golden perfection. Used to really love going to Crazy Horse, but after the last several times there, especially our experience last night, I won't be going back. It was insanely overcrowded and busy - took almost 40 minutes to get a drink. When leaving the crowded bar area, as I was waiting for my friends to come through, I stood off to the side of the bar. I know that is where the servers come out with their drinks and was being very mindful of this and watching to make sure I wouldn't be in the way, I was standing there less than a minute. All of a sudden I was pushed very forcefully by an employee, a bouncer I believe, as the server was approaching the bar. Completely unnecessary and disrespectful - a tap on the shoulder would have sufficed. Not sure why an employee would think it is even close to being okay to literally shove someone so forcefully. About an hour later while at the bar with my girlfriends waiting for drinks, a very drunk and obnoxious woman began screaming at my friend and wanting to fight. After they exchanged words, the woman continued on with her yelling. I was standing closest to her and calmly told her that she shouldn't be picking fights with these girls and why doesn't she just go and enjoy her night with her friends. Her response to this was screaming in my face and then hitting me in the face, and then getting physical with 2 of the other girls I was with. Bouncers came over to break it up and proceeded to kick my friend out and said that anyone involved was being asked to leave. We were complying and for some reason the bouncer felt the need to grab my friend by her arms as he was escorting her out. Totally unnecessary, he left bruises all over the insides of both of her arms. We left the bar as asked but noticed that the other woman who started the whole thing was still there at the front and did not look to be leaving. On top of all of this, we had $90 worth of drinks on the bar that we had just paid for to bring back to our group and now are out the money for that as we had to leave them on the bar. I had the steak mignon with veggies and baked potato.Lots of room at the oversized tables or booths very comfortable seats and Lots of privacy Child menu's available. All the female waitresses wear daisy dukes and cowboy boots . I wish the males could have shown off a little more skin too. Located in a smart centre with tons of other options . I've been here twice before: once for dinner and once to see a band. The first time I went was New Year's Eve. My boyfriend and I (stupidly) hadn't made reservations and decided to go here on a whim. He'd been before and wanted me to try it. Despite our lack of reservations and the place being pretty much booked up, they made a spot for us at a table that was reserved for an hour and a half later. I had to try the steak on the stone grill. The idea intrigued me right from the get go and I was not disappointed. My boyfriend got the same thing, along with the onion petals, which I tried a few of and enjoyed. The second time we went was to see the band Shameless with a couple friends. We stopped in for a late Saturday afternoon lunch. The meals for all of our party were wonderful, tasty and well cooked. The menu selection was broad while focusing on beef, but plenty of other options. Even a few very nice vegetarian options along with the normal salad selections. I had an excellent steak sandwich preceded by an equally good Caesar salad. They appeared to be staffed for a quiet mid-afternoon clientele and instead got several large parties, including ours. As a result the service was a little off but the server worked her buns off taking care of us so I have no complaints. Prices, reasonable I thought. I wasn't sure if we needed reservations so I called ahead and was told that they weren't necessary and that the restaurant was currently half-empty but that we should come ASAP because a band would be showing up to play around 8:30 or 9. This is the second time we have been here (the first time doesn't really count since neither of us were that hungry and only ordered salads) and we were not disappointed. We started with the spinach dip which came quickly, hot, and with some interesting bread (not sure how to describe them - kind of like pita but not). We then both had tenderloin but with different sides (I had onion petals and steamed vegetables and she had sweet potato fries and a caesar salad). Everything was very good and plentiful... so much so that we each had to take half of our meals home with us. Add in a pitcher of beer and our dinner came to around $100. Service was also very good - very attentive. Server was very friendly and checked up on us frequently. While we didn't stay for the show, we did stay for the first period of the hockey game and enjoyed ourselves (although I am not a big fan of the pub tables and would have preferred being offered a regular table or a booth). read more

I cook one of the best steaks you'll ever eat....lol....seriously - unfortunately my girlfriend gets pissed when i order a steak at a restaurant cause she knows i will be disappointed.....so i ordered the tenderloin :) it was fantastic, cooked perfect medium, super tender, but the winner was the horseradish aioli sauce.....wow, so good i made steak 2 days later with a roasted garlic, horseradish aioli, my steak recipe just got better. anyway, great drinks, great servers, food was great all around the table. will be back. read more

The Crazy Horse was mine and my wife's go to place when we wanted a great steak and we have been there several times. The last time was June 2018. At that time it lived up to all our expectations. Well that all came crashing down this week when we went. First were the menus. A good restaurant starts with making the customer feel they are getting their money's worth and that includes a menu that is bound and looks impressive. After all you're not walking out of there without spending upwards of $100.00 so you want to feel a little special. The new menus is a photo copied paper inserted into some kind of backing which looked tacky. Then came the waitress. We were offered drinks which she brought quite promptly but then she just disappeared and we never saw her again until she brought our meals. My wife had the prime rib and I had the 7 oz filet. There was nothing wrong with the prime rib but my steak was a little on the tough side and was not cooked to order. I didn't bother returning it as we were in a bit of a hurry and couldn't wait for it to be corrected. The whole experience felt a little off compared to the other times we've gone. I'm only posting this review so if others have experienced this lately you will see this and maybe can explain it. Did the restaurant change ownership ? I went here for a birthday party on Saturday night, May 12th. I order the suicide chicken wings, onion pedals and a pint of Stella. The wings were horrible. They did have spice surprisingly, but the flavor was weird and they definitely did not have a nice presentation. The wings were black and looked burnt, but that was the seasoning. I was expecting saucy wings, not whatever that was. I had one wing and gave the rest away to other wing fans, who found them gross as well. The onion pedals were delicious, although you get the same amount if you get it on the side, except mine came with a larger plate. Best part of the meal with my Stella Artois. I wouldn't go back, not my crowd or my preference of wings. read more
