I love love Crazy Shirts! I have been a fan for decades. The quality, fit, craftsmanship, and funny, scenic, or crazy designs captivated me and continues to do so. The cost is pricey for a t-shirt BUT they are so comfortable and will last a long time! I wish they would bring back more t-shirts with Sharka! The service is always friendly and welcoming at sstores whenever you visit.

Quick stop to look at Father's Day's shirts at Crazy Shirts. Located on third floor of Ala Moana Center, near Neiman Marcus. Well designed local t-shirts and more. High quality cotton equals pretty prices. Two t-shirts cost @$90 plus! Support local!

Great service Great quality Fun design Huge fan of the kliban cat shirts, sad to see them go, so I definitely stocked up especially since they are on sale

Cool new print only at the Ala Moana store. But $39?!?!

I'm generally not a big fan of CS. Their prints are not that unique compared to the surf co's prints exclusive to Hawai'i. However, when I saw a shirt that represented Hawaiian kau kau (food, meal), I had to have it. The print is coconut dyed so it will retain its colors longer. Represented on the shirt is loco moco, lomi salmon, pastele, lau lau, manapua, musubi, shave ice, pipikaula, saimin, poi and chicken katsu. IMHO, the latter should have been replaced by poke. The cashier was super cool, and the new location in Ala Moana had just re-opened. The only downside to the shirt was the price: $39!!!! Most surf shop Ts are $25, and there are always deals (ie, BO, get 50% off second shirt). In the future, I will not completely swear off CS. This unique print is only avail at the Ala Moana location. Its close by Target, so it will be an easy stop in the future.

During one of my daily jaunts around Ala Moana Center, I decided to go into Crazy Shirts to update what I call my "senior uniform". Oh, Hawai'i's weather is perfect for kicking back in or going "holoholo" in tee-shirts and shorts. To be honest, the quality of Crazy Shirts has long attracted me with its 100% combed ring spun cotton comfort and their crazy funky designs. Over the years, Crazy Shirts has upgraded their garment technology through the use of specialty dyes (Ti Leaf, Rum, Key Lime, Wine, Money, Chile, Beer, Crater and now Pineapple) and by offering UPF protection. Their focus is on men's, women's and children's casual (tops and bottoms) apparel. The women's and girls tee-shirts have various necklines whereas the men's and boy's shirts are basically crew-neck. Both short and long sleeve lengths are offered. On the day that I walked in, I was greeted immediately by both a male and female worker. When I said I was just browsing, they allowed me to do so without being intrusive but they made themselves available to answer any questions. I was assisted by Angela who was friendly and offered me sizing information as I didn't want to try anything on in the store. I made my choices and off I went. Customer service at this store is congenial and not pushy at all. My shopping experience was pleasant for sure! Another thing I can say about Crazy Shirts garments is you get what you pay for! While the shirts run from $21 to $66, the garment will last you for years through wash after wash.

I was surprised to find that things were priced cheaper than the Once Upon a Child stores we have on the mainland-- particularly the clothes. Speaking of clothes, we found Barbie clothes that normally are $10+ at the store here for only $1.99 new in package! Like new backpacks for like $5.99 and much much more! (loved the $0.99 books). And the quality of the clothing for sale was fantastic for being secondhand-- even the swimsuits. I will say that the store isn't the easiest to navigate (there is A LOT in here) but perhaps that's part of the fun (you could always ask the owner where to locate stuff if you're looking for something in particular). This shop is great way to fill your hotel room with some toys too just incase you have the unfortunate experience of getting sick on vacation or get really badly sunburnt and need a day in (keeps the kiddo happier). Owner was nice too, allowed my daughter to use the restroom. PS If you're a Disney fan there were lots of hidden gems, from Disney pins to Disney purses/packs to jewelry and more!

However, be prepared to pay more than what you'd expect as other reviewers had pointed out - the prices are high for what these items really should cost, which sucks, but I believe there is a reason(s) for this. I purchased a small plush keychain, a tee, a magnet and a sticker and the cost was just over $90 - the cost of the tee surprised me the most as it's $55 and I was expecting this to be more in the $40-$45 range. The store is on the smaller side and even on a weekday afternoon after 3pm, it was packed. It's located at the end of the row of stores, adjacent to the side of the Royal Hawaiian where the Sheraton is. Staff at the store were nice and helpful with any questions that I had. Besides the plushies, they had a great selection of stickers as well as magnets and keychains. For decades, I was aware of how popular Miffy has been in Japan (my cousin in Japan had Miffy items since the 90's), but for the U.S., I feel it has become increasingly popular within the last 2-4 years or so. I'm not sure if it's possibly because the creator, Dick Bruna had passed away in 2017 and since then, licensing and the creation of more Miffy merch and collabs may have become more easier to come out with, at least that's been the speculation. Although I'm generally not a fan at all of Hello Kitty or Sanrio, nor do I particularly like rabbits, there is something about Miffy that does appeal to me more than Sanrio characters - likely the simple design and neutral expression on Miffy and that it came before Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty and its European vibes. Before this, I'd ordered a plush Miffy keychain from the Kira online shop in SF. The keychain ended up being much bigger than expected for me to place on a bag/backpack so I decided that I'd stop by this store during my few days in HI to see if I can find a smaller keychain and maybe a tee as I heard this is currently one of only two Miffy themed stores in the U.S., the other being Miffytown in Kentucky. If you're in Honolulu and are a fan of Miffy, then this is worth checking out.

If you go to the three Kira stores and make a purchase you get stickers on cards. If you fill it up you get a small surprise. Don't know what it is though.

So when I went to purchase my items I completely forgot about the special. I wasn't reminded about it either. I went to Complete Kitchen and bought a couple of items there. The cashier was telling everyone about their sales and the discounts. So I went back to Up and Riding and asked if the items I bought (over $100) were eligible. Although not at the scale of the Tokyo Ginza flagship, it's one of the global chain's larger stores with an expansive multi-floor space. They offer the Brands Hawaiian Loco line, which is quite a distinct array of T-shirts spotlighting locally renowned businesses like Leonard's Bakery, Hawaiian Airlines, and Zippy's. I even bought one featuring a bowl of Zippy's saimin called Zipmin (Photo 4). I also really liked their line of aloha shirts because designs came from top quality Japanese block prints. I fell in love with one shirt based on Hokusai's "The Great Wave Off Kanagawa". I had never seen one like that before. They even offer opportunities to customize T-shirts and tote bags using exclusive designs from local artists. There's enough here to justify a shopping expedition.
