We came here because the Waikiki store didn't have 1 of the shirt I was purchasing. This location at Ala Moana Center is conveniently situated on the mall level near Macy's, making it easy to find while shopping. The employees were very friendly and accommodating. The associate who assisted me took the time to understand my situation and resolved my issue quickly and without hesitation, which I truly appreciated. They offer a great selection of aloha shirts, polos, and dresses. While the prices are slightly on the higher side, the quality absolutely justifies the cost. The materials are well-known for their durability, and the pieces are made to last for years. I'm not sure if they offer it, but if you are a Kama'aina, ask for their Kama'aina discount. Most every shirt comes in 3 different cuts...once you figure out your preferences you can purchase with confidence that they will fit. Stopped by Ala Moana in March 2026 looking to buy Hawaii's favorite jinzoningen print for myself and my son. They were sold out. I was put on a list. I also put my name on a list for a Dodger shirt which was expected in Jun. I asked if I should drive to Kahala to add my name there to increase my odds and was told that it was not necessary. I left feeling cautiously optimistic as I was in the LOW SINGLE digits on the Dodger list. Days before my trip to Dodger stadium in July, I stopped by to check on the status of the Dodger shirt. To my disappointment, I was informed that they had already sold the shipment that they had received. Much to my consternation, they could not locate the list with my name on it for either shirt! I was then informed that I should have preordered. This information would have been useful when I visited the store in March instead of wasting my time adding my name to lists that no one seems to be tracking. To their credit, they did help me place an online order for my Dodger shirt which arrived WHILE I was at Dodger stadium. Too late. Spooner makes up the majority of my aloha shirt collection (e.g. Year of snake, Year of Dragon, Year of Tiger - both colors, Snoopy, Star Wars, Star Wars christmas, USAF, embroidered corporate logo shirts and one with embroidered school logo, tOSU, tOSU bucket hats, etc etc). At this point, I am not optimistic about the kikaida shirts. I'm over it. Very disappointed in the lackadaisical attitude. read more

Let's update this review. Whatever I mentioned in my previous review about Kahala vs Ala Moana, is the total opposite. The customer service is just subpar. The attitude is generic and unwelcoming, and never felt comfortable in there or felt any genuineness during any interactions with the sales team. Every time I made a purchase (out of convenience), I need to claw and scratch each time just to get the Kama'aina discount because they will NEVER ask you any follow up question. You have to be very clear and say everything, and have your ID ready in hand before the purchasing process because they won't give you a second before your items are rung up, and then they get upset when they need to do it again, and press more icons on the screen than they have to. I was actually told to "have your ID ready" before purchasing on my most recent purchase here. OH-KAY... I keep receiving false information. One instance I was looking for a shirt, which they didn't have in stock, but checked that the store in Hilton had, so I went there immediately only to find out that they HAD NONE. Recently, I noticed the Ala Moana store started selling Reyn's Rack shirts (trade ins/vaulted), so I was curious if they also started trade ins (only Kapolei, at the moment), and the salesperson told me, "yes". Ok great! I'll came back in a couple of days with trade ins in hand, looking to get some credit for my purchase only to find out from a different salesperson that they actually don't do trade ins, and told me to "look on the website" on "ReynSpooner.com" for "instructions", which made ZERO sense to me. I checked the website, and nope, nothing. His instructions just led me to shirts on sale... I don't mind with just a "sorry" and a "no", or just an honest answer. People can be understanding. But what's the point of giving me incorrect, unclear information? There are nearby Reyn Spooner stores in Kahala Mall, Hilton Hawaiian Village (with parking validation!), and the newest store on Waikiki Beachwalk along Lewers. Better, more friendly, and helpful service at those stores. My previous 5-star review was based on one experience with an excellent salesperson who was efficient, friendly, accommodating, and asked me questions. I've never seen him after that. 2 stars for the variety of shirts and cleanliness of the store, and the one and only salesperson who is actually accommodating and engaging. read more

What caught my eye that made me come into the store was the NFL Aloha shirts. I had to check out the Cowboys version. Wow, it was so nice! It was made from rayon instead of cotton. Was searching for a green dress for my tutu's celebration of life and came across Reyn Spooner. A small selection but everything appeared to be of high quality. Something I liked was that, if you sign up, they can keep track of things you've bought so if someone wants to buy you a gift they can based off the sizes saved in the system. That's pretty cool. The gentleman who was there was very kind and helpful while I was shopping while grieving. Will return when in need of more aloha wear. read more

My husband just loves Reyn Spooner! He's tried a lot of different Aloha shirts in the past but he loves the quality and style of Reyn Spooner. It's also really nice that the aloha shirts come in different styles including a pull over version and one that has buttons that goes all the way down. Now he only wants to wear these Aloha shirts! The shirts are quite pricey averaging $108 per shirt, more if it's a special edition, but the quality of the shirt is impeccable. If you take care of these shirts they could literally last decades, and their prints are classic so won't go out of style. Service by the employees is really wonderful. They greet you upon entering the store and ask if they can help you find anything specific or if you have any questions. Unfortunately, I didn't check in to Yelp until after I bought his shirt so I missed the Yelp discount, but I was informed by the helpful staff working there that they do offer a Kamaina discount as well. read more

I will honestly say, Reyn Spooner is my all time favorite Hawaiian business attire, as I've been wearing this product for over 30+ years now. My very first Reyn Spooner I purchased probably dates back to the early 90's, and back then you could get a shirt in the $55.00 range. 30 years later, the same shirt now run for about $108.00 dollars, but I must tell you if you're lazy like me (where I don't wanna iron my shirts), Reyns is the perfect shirt to buy, as they have a wonderful poly blend shirt that is 55% cotton, & 45% polyester. If you hand wash the poly blend shirt, then drip dry the shirt on a handline, the shirt can last for years! I have some Reyn's shirts dating back 30 years, and I can still wear it to this day! Truth! Not into Aloha shirts? Not to worry, as Reyn's also sells an array of other items like - bucket hats, face mask, towels, hydro flask, t-shirts, sun dresses & shirtdresses, toddler wear, short pants, & polo shirts. Hopefully there is something you'll dig, while shopping at Reyn Spooner. For my recent visit, I came here to exchange a shirt that my sister had given me for my birthday. Service here was spectacular, as the 2 clerks who were working the day I visited the store were very attentive, & friendly. Went here for the new star wars christmas shirts. I saw it online but didn't know my size for their shirts so came in to see what the difference between classic and tailored was and what my sizes are. The sales associate was really helpful and informative when i came in. He grabbed a S and M in both the classic and tailored for me to try on. While I was trying on the shirts my yelp bff asked him questions about the shirts and sizes and what not and he answered all of them really well. The tailored cut is more like a slim cut. The star wars/collabs are limited runs and what they have is what they have same with online, so if you see a print you're interested in you better pick it up because they might not be around in your size later if at all. Also all the shirts are hand cut and then aligned so the pockets match, it's good to see the shirts in person since while the pattern is the same, the location of where they end up at are different for every shirt. read more

I am a big fan of Reyn Spooner Aloha attire. Out of all the brands in Hawaii, I love the prints and quality of Reyn Spooner. They come up with some cool and different prints and the quality is really good. They have so many options, it is so difficult to just pick one. I really like the store at Ala Moana Center, one because they are in a convenient location next to Macy's but the service is awesome as well. They are a bit more expensive than some Aloha attire brands, but these are really good quality and worth every cent. Check out the sale rack all the way in the back, older prints but good deals to be had. When you check in on Yelp, 20% discount off all regular priced items. Follow them on Instagram and they also have different specials. Harold helped me recently find a few shirts on black Friday. I have a friend who love Reyn men aloha shirt and is the only thing he wears. Which is why I give Reyn a 4-star because the quality of their shirts is awesome. Minus 1 star, and I wish I could give them more than a minus 1 star. It this past Christmas season, I found a lot of nice things online and so I did more online shopping. I purchased an item online from Reyn, received it damaged and went to the Ala Moana store to return the item. I would have thought that if I return the item, I would immediately get a refund within a few days. The sales associate, the gentleman was a 5-star rated person who handled my return with proper care and acknowledged how I would get my money back on or around dec 27, 2021. I finally wrote to reyns.com inquiring about my refund on January 6, 2022. And only until I inquired about my refund, did I get my refund process started. So, for this online ordering is a 1-star. I will no longer be ordering online through Reyn. Buyers beware. Quality of product is excellent and so is service but online service is horrible. read more

I came here to buy their "a Star Wars sithmas Aloha shirts" for my husband's Christmas gift. When I got inside the store there weee three staffs and one customer there. Three staff looked busy to bring new shirts in a store. A staff talked to another customer what he needed. Then he talked to me what I look for or need? I already decided what o li purchase so I asked him their Star Wars sithmas collection. He asked me what style? ( I answered pulled over) what size?(I said 3XL), I"'ll bring it" he said that and came back, passed that shirts in a counter staff, the staff folded the shirts. And I gotta check there. There was no time l see and check that shirts(I've never seen it directly) and automatically shop. Was in the store to check out two shirts that I had previewed online and was going to order online but wanted to see them in person since I live nearby. A loud-mouthed long-haired salesjerk with a beard practically snatched the shirt out of my hand because I had dared to unfold it and proceeded to lash out at me when I asked if they had changed the sizing as I have dozens of these that I have bought for the hubby, but none that are tapered like the one I was looking at. I told him to forget it, as he was waxing on and on about nothing and being loud, rude and obnoxious. I will buy the shirts online rather than deal with that annoying person. Seriously. Be courteous, be professional and wait until the customer is not right there before you start refolding things. I actually folded it back up and worked retail many years ago. I am considerate when I shop and expect that the salesclerks will be considerate back. Reyn Spooner apparel and accessories has been around in Hawai'i for a longtime...ahem, they were one of the first shops to open at Ala Moana Center in 1959. The Reyn Spooner name is a combination of its founders Reynolds McCullough and Ruth Spooner. The Reyn Spooner brand is synonymous with Aloha prints (in reverse) fashioned into traditional preppy menswear. There was a time that Reyn Spooner sold womens' wear such as column dresses, blouses and shorts. But, unfortunately, they have discontinued the women's' wear. I have a bunch of their dresses and came in to update my "collection" because I really love their prints and simple styles. But, no matter, I still managed to purchase a shirt for my husband which I'll just have to admire for the print when he wears it. He happens to like the button front "Heritage" print shirts. The fabric has a nice feel to it, is easy-to-care for and is pretty much wrinkle-free (Yay! Saves me from ironing). Thanks to Reyn Spooner and Yelp Hawai'i for the 20% discount from all regular priced items with check-in. Also, if you're a first time user of Reyn's website, you'll receive $25 off your first order. I was in Reyn Spooner (Ala Moana) this afternoon at about 2:30 pm. I had excellent service from an older woman. I was there to buy the Charlie Brown Christmas t shirt. What was surprising and somewhat offensive to me was the way the younger male co-worker was talking to her. He was very rude and abrupt with her in front of me and stomped off. She was ringing me up and he went right in front of her and took the last bag (I was there before the guy he was checking out) and then he told her that she can get another bag in the back. I told her that it was okay; I didn't need the bag but I was shocked at how mean he was speaking to her. She was so kind and said it was okay. I thought I would write this because that poor lady gave me attentive service and I felt that she was being bullied by her co-worker. read more

There have been some very good experiences with your company but this latest encounter is absolutely The Worst. Back in May of this year, there was a Pop Up Sale here in Hawaii. The date of the sale was released in an ad in the newspaper, there was no notice sent to your online customers. Extremely disappointed because had I known earlier, I could have taken a day off to attend. I emailed you about this matter and was told that in the future, you would try and send out notices prior to sales. Well it happened again! On Tuesday 9/23, an ad for the next Pop Up Sale appeared in the newspaper, the 4 day sale will start in 2 days. I received an email the next day regarding the sale. TOO LATE!!!! So much for being a member of the Reyn Spooner Ohana or for being a loyal customer! My boss was kind enough to give me the day off, I was so happy to be able to attend the sale. It was a 30 mile drive from my home to the store, the sale was supposed to start at 9am. I arrived at 8:45, I was the only customer there. At 9, there was another customer in line with me. One of the employees emerged from the store with The Bad News. Due to non arrival of stock, the store would open at noon. She told us that Fed Ex was bringing the merchandise, they were in transit and hopefully would arrive in about 30 minutes. Most of the stores at that mall open at 10, I had already eaten breakfast, I do not live near that mall...what am I supposed to do for the next THREE hours????? As other customers showed up for the sale, she handed out business cards that were numbered. She instructed us to call at about 11:30 to check on the status. If we came back and the line was long, show the card and they would pull us in. I called the store at 11:30 and was told that the mdse still had not arrived, the store would open at 2pm. WHAT!?!? I asked why they couldn't open the store and let us shop with what mdse they did have in stock. Nope. Going to open at 2. But there was still no certainty as to what time the mdse would arrive. It might even arrive at 5pm. I was asked specifically what was I looking for. He said that when the mdse did arrive, they could possibly hold it for me, apply a 15% discount and provide free shipping. They could also Facetime me and show what was available. Is an employee going to take the time to show me and other disgruntled customer every single item that is available?? This is a sale, I want to look with my own eyes and see what is available!!!! I approached the store at 12:30 and it was OPEN! What the heck???!! Myself and other customers browsed what mdse was in the store. I made a purchase of $390 and left. I asked the cashier if I could use the 15% discount and was told "No. Not for this purchase." I was not going to hang around until 2 with the possibility that the mdse still would not yet arrive. And I was already angry enough. Employee Jason (manager?) called me at 4:25 and told me that the shipment finally arrived. Really??? Facetime was not an option for me and I was not about to drive 30 miles. I told him I would try and come back Friday morning but I would have to cut out from work. He told me that they would be there at 6:30am, I would be able to shop then. I arrived at 7am and to make a long story short....I was denied entry. The employee told me that Jason was there earlier, she was on the phone with him. He told her that because there were boxes and stuff on the floor, I was not allowed into the store for my safety. Also because she was working alone. I told her "4th time is the charm!" and I would try and return later in the day. I went back at 1 and the store was up and running. The Kapolei store is very small, it was crowded. There was a lot of mdse, there is NO WAY I would be able to shop via Facetime had they tried to do so. At this point, I am so frustrated, so angry, I don't feel like shopping there anymore. I left empty handed. After all this drama, am I mad? Am I upset? No! I am PISSED!!! Grade F- on every level for both the store and management. Lies being told to the customers left and right. They blamed Fed Ex for not delivering the mdse in time. Shouldn't the store have been stocked before the sale??? Previous Pop Up sales were held at other locations that I attended and they were great. Easy access, convenient locations, no problems. Kapolei location and management should no longer be allowed to run the Pop Up sales. Total failure. And F- grade also for online service for failure to notify the Reyn Spooner "Ohana" about the sale. During the holiday seasons, they have a $10 sale rack. I got 2x pairs of very stylish swim board shorts on sale for $10 each. Everything was $10 on the rack. The only thing I needed to do was to try to find the right size, which was limited. But I did score on 2x pairs of shorts on sale for 32 & 40 sized board shorts. This place has the best Hawaiian styled board shorts and I am grateful to be able to get not only one but two pair of shorts. read more
