By far the best gaming store in California! We've hit most of the gaming stores in CA (including the so called greats in LA) and not one compares to the kind of people who own Crazy Squirrel. Before moving to Fresno we made the trek from Long Beach to play and purchase soley from CS. Great peeps, great selection and extremely friendly atmosphere. I recently purchased a WarMachine Behemoth Heavy WarJack for 69.99. Upon opening the package I noticed many of the parts had been replaced with others as though someone that owned the same piece but lost some parts and went to Crazy Squittel opened the package and look the pieces they needed then closed the box back up. I returned to the store with the receipt and showed them the package. The workers refused to help me in any way what so ever. She even accused me of stealing the Behemoth. I am a proud Chicano American adult male. I am a professional, a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan with two Purple Hearts. I do t say that to toot my own horn but I say that to hopefully prove I am no thief, liar or scammer. My bests friend and I spend at least 1000 dollars a month with this store each month. But not anymore. They will never see another dollar of mine and I will spread the word of what I just went thru. I felt humiliated, angry all because of something they did wrong. 5 STARS DOWN!!! And in her reply, I don't know how to respond to replies on here, she said I stormed off. Lady, PLEASE. I told you straight to your face I was done with dealing with you and calmly, very angry, but calmly walked off. See their she goes again lying and trying to put this problem off of the customer. You have a terrible attitude towards customers. And I am not wasting another breathe on you or your store. read more

This store is big and clean. They sell many games that are obscure and hard to find. They cater more to the hard core old-style role playing gamers and not the games you would find in retail chain stores. They have a small section with little kids games (ages 3-6), but what they do carry are unique and brain building. My teenage son loves to find those 'hole in the wall' stores that sell games he's never seen before. And we walked away with two. Prices seemed reasonable. The second half of the store (several store fronts) is dedicated to the hard core gamers and their friends. Tables are set up for gaming sessions and on a Saturday morning, there was about 20-25 gamers spending their day, doing what they love, in a comfortable air conditioned setting. read more

I came in here with my son to look for free stuff. I had no intentions on spending any money. I was looking for magic the gathering welcome decks, starter decks for beginners that are given out for free, I was welcomed by a very pleasant individual. His name escapes me now but he was a bearded red man. I asked him for these free welcome decks and long story short he went to the back and brought back a new package of welcome decks. My son and me got first pick. Since then I've gone back for all my magic cards. Besides magic they have an amazing selection of board games, national park monopoly, the original risk, catan and all the expansion packs. They hold magic the gathering drafts and Friday night magic. This place is a diamond in the rough. I did buy two step down dice for counters and I definitely have spent money there since. Look for free stuff but appreciate those who help the beginners. read more

This place is awesome! So much more than a place to buy games. This is a fun place to be. Though the games cost a bit more than online, the difference is the extra goes into building a valuable hub and community here in the valley. I've been here several times and every time the staff has gone above and beyond to help me. First time a friend and I were thinking of getting a minidisc game but weren't sure and asked a few questions. The clerk at the counter actually let us play with a demo kit which sold me. Then recently I went in with some questions about Magic the Gathering. The clerk (Brian maybe?) actually sat down with me and ran me through a game and gave me some cards to play with. I wound up buying some more as I was more than impressed with the service. Will definitely be coming back here more often. read more

I went in to get a die set for D&D. I'm starting my first campaign ever on Saturday. The guy at the counter was super helpful. Forgive me, I forget his name, but he's a Hispanic heavyset guy. Super nice. Walked me over to the dice selection. That was...insane. lol Really nice colors. And they were all really affordable! Before he left me to decide he let me know there were many other D&D items, such as figures and mentioned they would make great gifts for DMs. I spent time browsing after I chose my dice set and heard people un the back room playing multiple different games, one of which was of course... D&D! I asked the guy who helped me and he let me know the schedule for their D&D games (Mon, Wed, and Fri if you're interested!) And then spent the time to just chat with me and share funny stories about people "shaming" their dice on Reddit. SUPER GREAT store, awesome experience, I will definitely go back! read more

I've been here a handful of times and have never had a bad experience. I'm by no means a game playing person but have come in to buy gifts for people and their staff are always friendly and always make me feel welcome. I also appreciate the fact that they don't try to give me the run around on things (I always get my needed info before I go in so I know EXACTLY what I need, anyways) and they seem to be respectful of that. I feel like their pricing is fair for a brick and mortar and I like shopping local. I now automatically come directly to Crazy Squirrel for games. read more

4 years ago I rated this store poorly. I have been here more often recently. The customer service is much, much better. The staff is friendly. They run tournaments in a reasonable time. They accept phone calls when you are running late. Basically, they are a very good, clean, and well lighted place to play. I looked for a method to retract my previous review. This is proof that time heals all wounds. I hope the service continues to be as good as it has been recently. Kudos. read more

Long time board game/miniatures player that moved back into town. Was surprised to find that a new gaming store was around. Staff has been helpful, friendly and knowledgeable - even when I've been dithering without buying something for 20+ minutes. They support a pretty wide variety of games and keep a public schedule up listing the events they have every day. Let me remind you I was a frequent Crazy Squirrel Game Store customer in 2010, and I quit gaming until recently I got back into Magic The Gathering. Well, back then. I LOVED THE STORE. Excellent customer service, everyone was so friendly, there wasn't alot of people at the store, yet everyone was so friendly. Recently, I went on my first trip there in a long time, I went with my boyfriend and we didn't even get greeted. In fact, the cashier was just chatting up with another customer/friend and every time I asked a question I would cut them off, I felt like he was no help! Completely rude, we spent over $40 worth of cards. The second visit, I went with my brothers and boyfriend & it was a different person at the front. I was surprised that he greeted us and other customers that came in. He was so kind and helpful, COMPLETELY OPPOSITE OF THE FIRST EXPERIENCE. Well, it turns out you get a dice for each $10 you spend at the store and you sign up for it being your first time there when you purchase something. I was upset! That idiot didn't even bother to mention this to us last time we were there. Overall, I USED TO LOVE THE STORE. Now, I think they definitely need to consider hiring new employees or at least train them BETTER customer service because I don't even want to go back but I have to because they have all the stuff I need for gaming. Oh, and watch out for bad hygiene with the employees. It's disgusting. read more
