Have been here twice in the past month and will continue moving forward. I used to go to another shop but it closed down. About 5 years ago I moved to buying online but now that the comics themselves have scaled up there cost and these 5 cover issue nonsense is so common it's no longer a value to purchase online. I'll tell you that the two gentleman I spoke to on my two visits were incredibly kind and were able to answer my questions. I collect TMNT comics first so it's nice to actually see those comics in the store. I am getting back into XMen which is good so far and Absolute Batman is wild. I'm in my 40s and have been collecting comics since I was a kid. This is a modern comic shop done right. So I'll stop in twice a month. read more

We decided to stop here on a whim. We don't really collect or read comic books but we are into collectables. This place was a nice surprise. The owners were very friendly. They weren't pushy at all and very helpful. I ended up finding a really cool Alien toy that goes great with my collection. They also had a $1 area with a bunch of comics! We bought a few just for kicks. They also gave us free comics for making a purchase. I forget the minimum amount but it was nice. If you are ever looking to just browse and are a tad nerdy, drop by! So this place is my second home. As someone who buys a FAT amount of X-Men and Star Wars comics weekly, I couldn't ask for a better comic store experience each week. The staff is extremely great and securing subscriptions and guaranteeing you walk away with the books you were excited for. Stores like this can sometimes feel intimidating or cold to the uninitiated, but the staff at both the Clovis and Fresno location do a tremendous job for regulars and first timers alike. My wife used to wait in the car when I would go by another shop in town, but the personality and friendliness of Legends has made her a frequent visitor as well! They will either help you find exactly what you are looking for - or provide a glowing recommendation to help you out instead. Awesome example of 1- What a Comic Store should be. Carries Old comics at GREAT prices in MINT. Condition 2-Offers a variety of cool match for fans like one of a kind items or hard to find items ( not stuff you can just buy at Target) 3- Offers SNES carts and other old school gaming discs. 4- Carries a nice selection of Manga ( Japanese comics) models cards games, table top RPGS ETC. 5- The owner is knowledgeable and friendly 6- The staff is very friendly and has great customer service skills. We will definitely be back to shop this local shop instead of big box stores or Werdy dark comic stores that shall remain unnamed. read more

If a store calls itself a comic book store then you would expect to see a considerable amount of comics around the store. If a store adds games to the store then you would think that there would be a fair amount of games equal to that if the comics. Legends never understood this concept. From the first day it opened to the last day at its location Legends Comics & Games was an over priced, over hyped and a poorly thought out concept for a store. The store lacked in books that were properly taken care of as well as organized. Example being when you would into the store the comics out for that month and maybe the month prior we're located on the left side of the store. Whatever didn't sell throughout the year,( and there was a lot ) , was placed in the comic boxes toward the middle of the store. They would be combined with other books that they had obviously purchased simply to fill up the space. Looking through the boxes you could tell nothing was organized and they had no knowledge on how to price them and move product. So to make clear a book that should have been sold for $1 was at full price in the boxes from the day it first came out with almost 15 copies to be go even though it was from months and months ago. The amount of games, figures, display stands and random stuff completely out numbered the comics and gave the appearance that the store cared more about finding the niche in Fresno community then trying to provide service to everyone. After walking in last week I notice that they were moving out of their Fashion Fair location and to the N Blackstone ave area. Meaning that they were not making enough money to justify paying for the premium spot at the mall and so they had to move to an even smaller spot. Now the sign say it's a bigger location that they're moving to but I'm not sure yet. I'll have to see. Also I don't expect the business to do very well in this spot as it is some what hidden. read more

I stopped here on my way to San Diego to buy some Pokémon cards. They had the booster box I was wanted. They had a "mystery" pack of Pokémon cards for $1 that I also bought. The employee took the time to answer my questions about a graphic novel I was looking for. Great experience! read more

I've been to Legend a half-dozen times, mostly for their selection of games, including the open library in the back where I can go in with a couple of friends, find a table, and run a game or two. The store is fairly clean, the employees are generally quite helpful, and the selection of games is good. Their comics selection is pretty thin; several times I've found them sold out of titles on Wednesday afternoon, and they don't carry anything small-press. I also don't care for the way they separate the new arrivals and graphic novels by publisher, instead of just by title. But what really bothered me enough to write a review was their radio ad I heard recently that led off with, "At Legend, we're the real heroes!" a clear shot at locally-owned, long-time institution Heroes Comics. You didn't have to do that, particularly since your store's focus is obviously board/tabletop games, which is in no way an area of competition with Heroes. Especially since the owners of this business are from San Jose and not from Fresno, that left a bad taste in my mouth. I think I'll stick with Crazy Squirrel for my games until Legends can show more class than that. read more

Ever since I started collecting the IDW Sonic comics, Legends has been my go-to place since they support my subscription. I've also frequently gone there for my Transformers and Games Workshop needs, so they really are versatile in that regard. The staff are also very welcoming. read more

Unprofessional service. DO NOT BUY GAMES FROM THIS PLACE. Bought a game that was SEALED by them saying it worked, but didn't. When asked if it doesn't work they said we can bring it back in. Tested the game on two consoles and it didn't work on either. Took it back and said I can only get store credit and it wasn't even 24hrs. The GM Dominic was rude and had a smirk when I told him I want my money back since they sold me a broken game THEY sealed cause it quote, "worked when we had it", yet they don't have a console in store to test the game cause they "sold all their consoles" and ask a "employee" to take them home to test them. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it ? Asked to speak to the manager and DOMINIC said he is the manager and this is his store and to "get out if you don't want store credit". I asked to speak to his BOSS or COPORATE repeatedly and he didn't want to call or give me his boss's number saying "I can give out personal information and I am coporate" it's on the website but it isn't! Finally after 20 minutes he called him and he gave us the refund. WOULDN'T RECOMMEND. Couldn't believe this happened doesn't even sound real. read more

Rude owners, not very informative, over priced merch and comics. Especially their back issues and variant covers. I saw a variant comic for almost double the price you could get easily on ebay. When I brought it to their attention they told me to get it on ebay then. Just really rude customer service. When I told him about his snarkiness, what would the owner think he told me he was a part owner. I'll never go back to this place again. Do yourself a favor and go to Heroes Comics just down the street. read more

I went in a couple of months ago for board games, so things maybe have changed since then. But here is my impression: The Good: All of their board games are marked 10% off MSRP, which is a nice incentive. They didn't charge anything to use their gaming area. The store was easy to find as well. They are near a good amount of restaurants and they didn't mind us bringing food into the store. The meh: Me and a buddy went to one of their open board game nights. They advertised the day, but not the time. When we got there around 5:30, we were told that it didn't start until 6, but that we could still come in and use the tables. Their collection of games that you can play was pretty small. We were there until about 9, and we were the only two people who came (although one of the employees did join us after his shift ended which was pretty cool). The gaming area was very standard; about 4 long plastic tables and some plastic chairs around each one. It was just good enough to use, but nothing really to write home about. The bad: When we took a game out of their free-to-play library, we were told "That game belongs to an employee and he's not here right now, so you can't play it". I'm wavering between giving them a 3 and a 4 because they are a nice specialty store, but they didn't really do much to set themselves above the competition. read more

The only bad thing I want to let you know is the person who rang me up today, take this as a solid note. When I ask how much something is, do not proceed to tell me it's a million dollars. I'm easy going and understood it was not a million dollars but you're giving the wrong impression like things are expensive. Whether you feel they are expensive to you, don't give that perception to the consumer. I don't want to feel like I'm paying a higher price. You telling me it's worth "a million dollars" is a bad misconception. You told me twice. It was not funny and it's really not professional. Someone else could've heard and thought the store was overpriced which it isn't. read more

Have to admit it's been a very long time since I've stepped into a comic book store and I was pleasantly surprised at how lively it was! They had a Yu-gi-oh tournament going down in the back which was very cool to observe! They had everything from beginner collectibles and comics to ultra rare comics and cards! Loved the art work and posters. They have a painting class too for people who like to paint miniature action figures. The staff was very friendly and informative! read more

I love this place my son is 10 and we started coming here just to buy pokemon cards because we collect them and I collected them as a kid but never played... Victor the professor for the pokemon legue took time to teach us how to actually play. Not only that he makes sure that any trading is done fairly. He always checks the value of the cards being traded and makes sure no one is getting taken advantage of. My son and I now go there Teusdays and Saturdays for the tournaments.. The staff is amazing and their prices are great I wont buy anywhere else I tell everyone to come here we love it so much. They go above and beyond here and we love them for it read more

Do not do a subscription here. You will find substituted issues, (i.e. I want no variant covers and they always slip them in anyway like I won't notice), and missing issues. I've been a faithful, loyal customer for over a year and they didn't bother to tell me to come pick up my subscription BEFORE they sold off issues. Then they expected me to pay for the issues they held PLUS the ones they sold off already in hopes that they'll be able to replace them. They admitted it was their fault but that doesn't bring me the first prints of the missing issues I wanted. It made my whole collection useless. I won't be back there. Might as well go back to Heroes every week. read more

My family and I visited here on Fathers Day actually of this year. That was our first time visiting the store. What got our business were the lesser prices for MTG booster boxes. We were greeted by all the staff when we first walked in; they all seemed very nice and helpful. Our kids were given some superhero bookmarks and a coloring page which they were thrilled about. I have been to a lot of comic book stores in my life and can i just say this one is awful. The employees do nothing but shove sales down your throat as if they are going out of business tomorrow. I was speaking with the manager, Brandon, and i was trying to maintain a casual conversation however everytime i mentioned something he would just start throwing products in my face. The store is incredibly unorganized. They have graphic novels seperated to three sections of the store and it was so hard to find things. They dont take care of their products. I was looking at a few books and there were creases and one even had a ripped page stuck to one. Do they really not check the books before they put them out? Incredibly unfriendly. The manager seemed to be getting annoyed at the fact i didnt want to buy the stuff that was being recommended. The new releases were so small on the rack. They barely order anything and they said it was cause they rely on subscribers. What a horrible way to run a business. I will NEVER go here again. read more

Right at Fashion Fair next to Michael Kors, Legends is one of the best comic/game store I've visited in Fresno. Relatively new to the area, Legends has a wide range of more "advanced" board games (sorry monopoly players) and comics. Going in I was probably the most excited about the Gundam Kits and YuGiOh Cards, but if you wanted to get into something new, the people that work there would most likely be happy to help you out. Since being in here, I've brought a couple of my friends in and now some of them are avid customers there. There are YuGiOh, MTG, and Vanguard tournaments, roleplay, board games days, and free play nights there if you're into that. So yea, the shop is clean as a whistle, is in the fashion fair area which is close to any food or other shopping you may need to do, and the staff is friendlier than girl scouts that just sold out of cookies. 3 Thumbs Up! read more

This store had a lot of cool stuff, ranging from comics to Mangas to figurines, enough to fit the taste of most people. The staff was also extremely sociable, I was just looking at some manga and a staff member approached and we talked about the difference between the Tokyo ghoul manga and anime.
