Game Qore is a rad spot. I came in here having heard that they do pokemon league play and tournaments. It wasn't the day of, but their staff were happy to point me towards their available pokemon TCG offerings, and I picked up a couple singles and some penny sleeves. The staff have always been super helpful and friendly, and didn't make me feel unwelcome at all. I loved seeing the other gaming supplies they have, especially the retro consoles and games. Lots of good options throughout the store. A cool and fun place to visit. I'll be glad to stop by again another time. read more

Gaming / card shops like these are becoming a rare find. Game Qore hangs tight to this niche community of gamers and card played by offering a nice selection of retro console games, dungeons and dragons manuals and items, complex board games, and a card shop in the back for Magic the Gathering folk and Pokémon card players. When I dropped by they seemed to have some exhibition games in the back too. Apparently they also repair old console games on their own, such as resoldering, replacing console game batteries, and so on. Keep that HP up! read more

Game Qore is a game shop that very easily becomes family. Everyone here seems to know each other, and the staff is very friendly. They accept trade-ins for store credit, and have a wide variety of board games. Towards the back of the store they have several gaming tables where (in a non-covid world) you can sit and play games with others in the community. They also sell snacks and drinks so you can really enjoy your time there. My husband and I have played many games there and made many friends. My only suggestion would be a really good deep cleaning of the store, it can kind of get a musty scent in the play area. read more

Game Qore is a hobby shop conveniently located on Visalia's scenic Main Street. What do they have at Game Qore, you might ask? Well, the owner Cyril "C.B." Thompson has a bit of everything. Wait...scratch that. He has a lot of everything. Board Games, card games, Table-top roleplaying games, old Nintendo cartridge-era video games, miniature figures for war-gaming, graphic novels, manga, and anime. And if he doesn't have it, he can get it for you. Any gaming hobby that you have can be catered to at Game Qore. Further, there is a pretty generous customer credit system in place. Game Qore also has a good-sized game room in the back, so if you want to play a board game, card game, or tabletop RPG with a bunch of friends, GameQore is definitely the place for you. Just one word of advice: you will want to ask C.B. or one of his employees first about scheduling, as there are certain evenings in which game tournaments are held and the back room is monopolized. If you are looking for cards, board game, and other assorted collectables then by all means go to this place I am sure you will find what you are looking for. The propose of my review is for those looking for some old school games. I personally went looking to scratch my old video game nostalgia itch (NES, SEGA, SNES games) and found that they only have a small section in a tiny corner in on the wall. With the section in front of me all I could see were games that everyone has multiple copies of / doesn't want to play with maybe a few gems or two but nothing near what I was looking for. Although they do say that they can order anything you need but you are better off looking online for they game you want for a cheaper price and have it delivered directly to your door rather than having to drive all the way back to the store. TL;DR : If you are looking for some old cartridge-era game's and just happen to be near by unlike me then I suppose you can pop in and see if they have what you need, by chances are they wont and you are better off looking online. read more

This is a hidden, little gem in the heart of Visalia's downtown area. I came across it as I was just walking around, trying to kill time while waiting for another place to open. The store front is on the smaller side, but if you walk toward the back, you'll notice that there's more space with chairs and tables. Game Qore has A LOT of board games; that was actually the first thing that I noticed. There was one in particular that my fiancee was looking for, but didn't see it. They also had a great selection of games for older systems. I noticed a board in the back that seemed to list tournament dates, which I thought was great. Not very many places host tournaments anymore, so I thought it was awesome they did that. I'd love to be able to look around more thoroughly if I'm ever back in the area. As someone who's been a customer during different times of this business' life, I can say, without a doubt, their level of service and ability to create an inviting atmosphere has only gotten better over the years. For whatever reason, hobby/gaming stores always seem to attract their fair share of arrogant and condescending employees; however, Game Qore has done a great job at weeding most of them out. This place is really great. They have a surprisingly varied selection for only just opening a few months ago. We're really lucky they opened, apparently they're the only hobby game store in town. If you're worried about a cliche, snobby owner behind the counter making you feel like nothing, worry no longer. The owner C.B. is beyond friendly. I remember stores like Artifex down in San Diego.. dark, dingy, and the staff were unfriendly. Game Qore is the exact opposite. During my last visit I didn't have enough cash on me to buy the game I wanted, but the owner was totally cool with it and held the item while I ran to the bank to withdraw some more. I expected him to be annoyed, but he didn't act that way at all. Before that I had called to see what they had in stock, the owner was very helpful and stayed on the phone until I had gone through my list of games. They deserve your business. I plan to support them for as long as I live in Visalia. I just wish I lived closer, it seems like a fun hang-out spot and I'd enjoy making friends with C.B. and the folks that play games in their back room. This place is a gem. So I took in an original Xbox in because I was having some issues and I asked if they could fix it and I was told that they don't but then I was offered to buy an Xbox that they had and was told that it was in good condition so I bought it, brought it home, played on it once and it was fine. The next time I tried playing a game on it, it kept telling me that any game I put in was unreadable. The service is fine and they games they sell are cool but I'm mainly frustrated because they basically sold me an Xbox that was broken and at this point now, I can't even take it back because I don't have the receipt and I made this purchase a while back. It saddens me because all I want to do is play some of my childhood games but apparently no disc I put in will work. read more

Love this store. Such a great selection of board games and awesome customer service. I went in a while back when it first opened and picked up a dice game, it was a nice store . I hadn't been back in a while, cause I'm not from the area. It was even better this time around. Picked up a couple games, LotR deck building games. Spoke with the owner about some other games that I might like too. The layout of the store is better now and it looks like it's getting some more work done in the back where there are tables for game play. I've bought board games online and paid less, but I haven't been as happy as when I get some insight on the game I'm buying from someone, like I did here. I'll pay the extra for the customer service. They also do a Thursday night board game night in the store. They have lots of games to try there or you can take in your own of you desire. Nice place to check out of you're in the Visalia area and you can walk around downtown while your at it. My kids liked checking out the games the too. Most of the games are for teens to adult, I'd say, but there are a good amount of unique family games also. read more

Even though I had no idea what hat I was doing since it was my first time getting into Warhammer 40K they were happy to help me figure out everything I needed and what I could get for it at the shop and then even after that they gave me a few suggestions as for where to go to get the rest of the things I needed and for the best price. I hate to gripe but I have got to say I have had two negative experiences in this store and both for the same reason. It is hard to get help sometimes. I came in recently after a nice paycheck and had $100 I wanted to spend on retro games but I saw a lot of stuff I wanted and probably would have gone higher. The problem is that no one asked if I needed anything and I was basically ignored. So sadly this store lost my sale because I did have other places to be. I understand you get busy but I am not even sure the others were buying anything. I live out of town and that may the last time I come. My local store gets busy and I have never had an issue at least getting a purchase started. You may want to be aware of this so you don't lose other sales. read more
