It's one of our favorite stores because the prices are reasonable, the merchandise is cute, and there are no Five Below stores in Hawaii. "Five Below" is a misleading name. Some items are more than $5. Just check the price tags. We enjoyed looking at Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty. We very much liked the Easter merchandise - especially bunny stuff! We look forward to visiting Five Below again on our next mainland trip!

A year ago I got a brisk off the shelf and it was expired. I drank half of it went back and said something I got the response of "well the drink vender is supposed to get rid of the expired stuff not us. But I'll let the manager know". Then I bought an air freshener a week or two ago of cardano cherry air freshener. The smell wasn't as strange as they usually are so I was like oh maybe it's my allergies but I checked the date to be sure. Well it was expired. But the cashier never gave me my receipt. So I'm out a couple bucks which is fine. But I don't want this to keep happening. Bathrooms are always closed too. It's like they only want the bathroom for employees. They always say there's "plumbing problems. Would you think when they remodeled it they would get rid of the old product and fix the problems?

They are very convenient and you can get in and out in a timely manner. They sell milk, bread and eggs and other essential items so I can avoid the ever crowded Big Grocery chain stores. And if you choose to donate to "Goodwill" in hopes that it will go to an actual charitable cause, make sure you do your research first. I was in the area and decided to stop here to check out the physical media. Sometimes you can find something decent and this place did have a good and sizable selection of movies - though plenty with damaged discs, plenty of bootlegs, and damaged cases. This place decided that placing their hard to remove price sticker sloppily and in random places on these DVD cases was a good idea - so while you can get some movies for a cheaper price, if you choose to keep them, you'll always have a reminder of where you got it from unless you change cases. They charge $1.99 for DVDs, while the closest Goodwill charges a $1 - I guess things are not the same in every location you go. As mentioned, this was a larger Goodwill in size, so they have seemingly a lot more to offer. The place was busy and the customers were at Walmart level as far as weirdness and such, so I wasn't in the mood to explore. They seemed to have a large selection of clothes if you choose to go for that - I'm sure the prices range. I dealt with only the cashier, who was fine. This place shares the land with several businesses, so there's plenty of parking. Overall, if Goodwill if a place you like to visit, this is a good sized one. If I'm in the area, I might return to check out their physical media (movies), but unlikely.

My daughter called me recently and told me about Ray & Judy's Book Stop and wanted to meet me there...how could a Dad say no? I found a parking spot about a block away (there is only local parking, though there's a small Quick Chek across the street) and made my way over to the store. As of this writing, the owner still asks that anyone coming into the store wear a mask (he's an older guy so just do as he asks...if you don't want to mask up just go somewhere else). This small bookstore is laid out pretty well and they have a great collection of books. They have a pretty large selection of science fiction and westerns (my guilty pleasures), but really a nice collection of everything. These days so many people use electronic readers, but still have a love of having an actual book in my hand. I walked away from the store with a few nice purchases and my daughter had a full bag. Owner was a really nice guy, prices are good, it's well organized and they have a nice selection...for someone like me that's all I can ask so I'll be back.

Because everything is donated, this isn't the place to hunt for the newest bestseller. It's where you come for the experience, the possibility of stumbling across something unexpected, and the thrill of finding a great deal on a forgotten gem.
