Whenever I've been in the stores anybody I ask for help has always been there to make sure that I get what I need. I recently placed a large order online ran into some issues and called. Went on a Sunday. The location was not overcrowded, had enough cashiers open, plenty of inventory and staff on hand to answer question's.

The item selections and prices are pretty good. Checkout is TERRIBLE. No matter what time of the day you go, the 3 lines they have open are HORRENDOUS! People buy LOTS of stuff and spend TONS of money there. The least they can do to is make the shoppers experience worth while, not have our frozen food melting while we wait to check out and open more registers. read more

As I've said in reviews of other restaurant depots i frequent, this place requires you own some sort of business to be eligible for a member ship. This place is where i normally shop when i need some stuff in bulk. I first started coming here when i helped run my family's business and got my membership card. Then i got another membership card through another business I worked for that also came here to shop. I've moved on but I've gotten to keep my cards. If you need to cater a larger party whether it be your own or for work this place usually will have everything you need. You can pick up everything from sernos and racks to a whole lamb! I through a dinner party every year for about 25 people personally, and pick up all my supplies from here. It saves me a lot of money. If you have business and are in the area you should consider looking into a membership. read more

Honestly I feel silly even leaving this review as I actually love restaurant depot. I buy so much for my business and my home from here. It's reasonably priced and conveniently located. However, this location is a stain on the whole restaurant in my opinion. I other the employees are new or they have a horrible work ethic at this location all around. I highly recommend restaurant depot in general but it's worth the extra 15 minute drive to go to another location. Just stay away from this one. read more

We came here based on recommendations from other people we were having a big get-together and needed to find better prices than ShopRite and did not have a Costco membership. The prices are okay but the selection is not that great and the store itself needs a good cleaning and more staff to help. Probably would not come back to this establishment as I do prefer ShopRite for their prices read more

If you like to cook and freeze in bulk this is a great place. You also can get items that you can not get at Costco, BJ's or supermarkets. They have full briskets (Angus) not just the flat cut. Big short ribs - great for smoking Shrimp - Gulf Wild for great prices Tartufo that costs you 6.95 in a Italian restaurant for 3.00 each Spices in bulk - real cheap Duck - Only 1.99 a pound etc. etc read more

The parking lot is not meant for trucks the loading docks are made for straight trucks. They are running only one door and why on God's green earth are we scheduled so closely if we have to seat on the side of a busy street for hours. No one seems to want to be there organization must be sold in the front end cause I couldn't find any back here. Wow read more

Restaurant Depots are accessible only by individuals involved in the food and dining industries. Rather than seeming like an exclusive privilege, there are some very genuine reasons why setting foot into an RD location isn't for the household shopper. First, your "shopping cart" is a 6' high "u-boat"-- it's heavy, hard to maneuver, seems to obstruct traffic no matter where you park and rolls away at the slightest provocation. Next, while single-piece pricing is extended for many items, it is often more expensive than your average supermarket for small quantities. Discounted prices on full case quantities, primal cuts of meat and similar commercial quantities are often (not always) much lower. Outstanding math skills or a reliable calculator are definitely recommended; per-pound case pricing can easily yield higher than expected costs. Third, the conveniences of retail shopping (e.g.- bagging, customer service, etc.) are absent or severely deficient. Checkout lanes are always backed-up, and 5-15 minute waits are typical. Items tend to be generic brands, and while they carry a vast array of products, choices of grade or producer are very limited. Finally, an RD location is a true warehouse; austere, purely functional and crudely organized. Large areas of the warehouse are maintained at deep refrigeration or freezer temperatures-- dress accordingly. Restaurant Depot doesn't offer a pleasant consumer experience, but does a good job in providing a near-single-stop outlet for commercial food preparers. You'll find a full range of cooking and kitchen equipment, some restaurant fixtures, china, glassware, food packaging and-- of course-- a wider variety of generic food items. Specific to the Pine Brook location (Rt. 46 Eastbound, just west of the Chapin Rd. exit), the range isn't quite as broad. As others have noted, the parking lots are somewhat narrow and run-away "u-boats" do pose a genuine danger to both vehicles and pedestrians. We found most of what we were looking for on Saturday, but came up empty on the particular lamb primal we sought. In summary, adequate. read more

First time at this RD as I am out of town. The layout of this one is a bit odd but easy to find what you're looking for. The forklift operators seem to be more careful here than the ones in the DC area who zip around without a care in the world. One item to note, the exit slopes down! If you've got a heavy cart, better watch yourself or it'll end up crashing into someone's car! This also means don't park your car in front of the exit doors :) read more

I'm not exactly sure where to begin maybe we can start with the parking lot situation. You walk out of the store and your on a hill. We all have these loaded trolleys. The Hill is so steep that if your are not strong enough you could easily watch your cart ram into the cars parked in front, and easily get hurt. My stuff is always falling off and I find my self chasing it down the hill all the while trying to keep my trolley in control. Before all that happens you must first attempt to make it and find yourself a parking spot (which is almost impossible) A spot in which you are not susceptible to a trolley on the run. The driveway is narrow and people pull up to load block it and then you can't get by. So now you find yourself maneuvering extremely closely to other cars and a line of car traffic to get in and park. They need to rework the whole parking lot in order to make it work safer and be more productive. Now once your inside. They are always short on inventory. There product selection is minimal in comparison to other "Depots" I have been to. The store setup is completely disorganized. Again doesn't flow like some of their other locations, and not one of the employees knows anything about anything. Most of the time you will find the employees hanging out in the corner sitting in the water not doing anything. The lines to pay are always so long they bleed back into the aisles. Preventing you from being able to shop. They don't ever open all the registers. You find yourself wasting 20 mins just to pay. This location needs a total redo from top to bottom. Corporate needs to come and revamp this location. It's a total disaster! read more

I love RD. Its like toys r us for food. They have a large selection of wholesale(restaurant wholesale pricing) food and restaurant quality equipment. You can pretty much find anything there. Prepare to buy and bulk and spend a penny if your not buying for a business. Check expiration dates and inspect all food. read more

Okay so, I'm sure it's great and that the employees are great. What I cannot stand is their trucks in the morning that are making deliveries and blocking Rt. 46. YOU CANNOT BLOCK AN ENTIRE HIGHWAY. You must do something about this. It's sometimes impossible to get around. People are trying to get to work. Please do something or more formal complaints will be issued, not only by myself but by several people who are trying to get to work and cannot be delayed by thoughtlessness. Thank you!
