Ocean State Job Lot is like a Big Lots or some kind of Overstock/Clearance store. It has everything! From snacks and pet supplies to furniture and reading glasses, just go up and down the aisles to discover all kinds of treasure! I got some tote bags with donut prints for our annual Dash For The Donuts (Unofficial Yelp Event in Honolulu by Ric C., every January 1st). I also got a handcarry rolling luggage for $40. I should have measured the fit at the store. When we got home, I realized that the tote bags were taller than the interior of the luggage. We went back to Ocean State Job Lot and returned it easily because it was within 90 days. Thanks for the friendly, efficient service! This was a fun shopping adventure! I got some things for my friend's house like disinfecting wipes and permanent ink pens. There were so many useful items at reasonable prices! I'm looking forward to returning!

Wife, kiddos and I did some shopping here recently for some pool supplies and arts and craft supplies for the kids. I don't think that I have ever been to one where the staff cares how the aisles look or if everything is where it is supposed to be... And this place is no different! People put things back wherever they feel, I admit I misplaced a few items as well. Most of the items we didn't want we gave to the cashier. They had just about everything that we were looking for. I go to both Wegmans and ShopRite. Each has pluses and minuses. Parsippany is my SR of choice over…read moremany of the others, especially the tiny old one in Caldwell. So now that this one is open, I thought the big new ShopRite would bring forward the best parts that Parsippany features. Things I like: Much more expansive and well lit. Aisles are longer and better organized. Things I dislike: Still not nearly as well organized as Parsippany. Those new digital price tags that are hard to read. The parking lot is laid out perpendicular to the building instead of parallel, so you have to commit to a row and you can easily get stuck there as people pull in and out. Yeah, Caldwell is still crowded after the expansion, whereas Parsippany spreads out very nicely. Fun closing fact: Went to leave last night and the traffic light never changed. The car in front of me gave up after a couple of minutes and went to the other driveway. I just made a right turn and U-turned. Something went bad on Essex County's side, I'm absolutely not holding that one against the supermarket. But it sealed the deal for me. The verdict: Continue west to the Parsippany location.

I don't work here, and I don't want to ring up my own groceries. I want to use a regular cashier and be on my way. That option shouldn't feel nonexistent. It's also frustrating that self-checkout doesn't take cash, even though it says it does. So if you're paying cash, you have to wait for help anyway which is extremely annoying!! The rewards program isn't great either--after spending $200, getting a free chocolate bar was pretty underwhelming. Overall, nice store, but the lack of real checkout service is a big downside.

Lidls does have their own brand label so you'll save on most things that run along those lines. But some national name brand products that I'm used to seeing are priced the same if not a bit more than other stores.    You can find me hanging out in the Frozen Foods Section, in my opinion that's where a customer can find the most value that this place has to offer. And these days that's a big freakin deal people.   I've been here twice so far and both times it's been pretty empty maybe just because this is a fairly new location but I can definitely appreciate a place like this as opposed to some other crazy crowded nearby chains who'll remain nameless. It's one of our favorite stores because the prices are reasonable, the merchandise is cute, and there are no Five Below stores in Hawaii. "Five Below" is a misleading name. Some items are more than $5. Just check the price tags. We enjoyed looking at Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty. We very much liked the Easter merchandise - especially bunny stuff! We look forward to visiting Five Below again on our next mainland trip!
