I found The Art Cottage and learned that they do watercolor classes-and figured I'd give it a try. You do need to call or go online to reserve your spot-space is limited. I called and was able to get in easily for the day and time that worked for my schedule. I showed up a few minutes early and was setup at my station with paint, paper & brushes. I was ready to go! The class was brief-I learned a few basic strokes and techniques in watercolor. Gradient painting where you start very light and work your way into the darkest version of a color. I also learned the "wet on wet" and "wet on dry" techniques and when it would be appropriate to use each. I also learned how to fix mistakes and turn them into more intentional pieces of the art. I really channeled my inner Bob Ross turning things into birds and clouds. After the instruction, I was set loose to do a painting. There were some binders full of examples to provide inspiration, but no step by step instruction, which is different from other canvass/acrylic painting classes I've done elsewhere. I applied the techniques I had learned in the lesson and some suggestions from the instructor. Although my painting might not be one worthy of hanging in a gallery, I enjoyed myself and would recommend taking a class to anyone who might be mildly interested in watercolor.

My wife, her sister, and husband, and I went to a 2-hour painting session at Painting with a Twist…read morelast night with the "Autumn in the Air" painting and Hanna as our instructor. We purchased the canvas and also opted for an $8 glass of vino to help get the creative juices flowing! The two hours were fun and the instruction by Hanna was great. We used acrylic paints (which were easy to work with), and three sizes of brushes: The Big Mama 1", "The Bob"...aka Bob Ross medium-sized, and the "Baby" (thin) brush. Hanna was a wonderful - and patient - instructor, and being the first time painting made it all a lot of fun. She walked around, helping folks and responding to everyone's questions. She provided additional paint as needed, and the whole experience was very pleasant. Hanna took pictures of all of us at the end (using our cell phones), and all four of us left with our canvases! A good time was had by all! We'll be back....maybe for the black-light painting event...but next time we'll bring our own three brushes as the ones provided were a little bent at the brush end. With that being said, I try every year or two, to get some good photos done that I actually enjoy. FotoFly is not local to me so I planned this visit some time ago. I found an appointment with no trouble. I chose this location because I actually went to the city location a few years ago and I wanted a different look for these. Sally the photographer was Fantastic!! We came running in and she was very accommodating and she was delightful. She quickly befriended my granddaughter and they had a great time getting the session done. The price is unbeatable, the photos are beautiful and I will definitely be back!

He Litterally didn't understand what she was saying and she kept being aggressive and frustrated with him. Especially when kids are in front of a camera it's nerve wracking enough that getting mad at them for not looking a way or looking at the camera was uncalled for. I know it's a busy time of year and probably long days but don't be in this business where you work with young children if you can't handle it.

Some other parent may or may not care about this stuff. I am only speaking based on my own experiences. Since August 27, 2018, to Dec 13 two incident occurred to my daughter, first one was one of the other kid hit my daughter's head, and last Friday one other kid attack my thoughts with Scissors. The question comes to my mind 1- Does presuming teacher supervise the kids? 2-Because kindergarten students are generally about 5 to 6 years old, they require constant monitoring to ensure that they are not engaging in unsafe behavior. In addition to providing physical safety, kindergarten teachers must maintain a warm and welcoming environment in which young children feel emotionally safe. My review is very generous, I should give two stards instead because the kindergarten teacher did follow up safety procedures and intentionally or unintentionally created an unsafe zone for my daughter and other students. If that Scissors attack was hit to her eyes instead of her finger, she would lose her eye for ever. Because of this, I can not afford to send my daughter back to this school and I won't recommend any parents who care about their children send them to this school under current management policies.

They have no concept of how to redirect children's attention and keep them engaged. My child would come home constantly feeling horrible and like they are a really awful kid. I will never return my child to this school. Enough is enough! I let it slide for too long. They had me thinking it was my kid and I am now able to see right through them. Awful teachers and the owner is beyond unprofessional. She truly has no clue what it's like to be a child. Protect your children from a traumatic experience like this. They are trusted to set the tone for the rest of your child's school career. Take this seriously. This is not the school for energetic children.
