    Andrew's first Christmas recital 2018
    Shasha S.

We are very pleased that we put our 7 yr old son in Mrs. Barton's group piano lessons. She has given him a strong foundation to grow on. Her wonderful and distinct attention to each student, along with the latest interactive technology, made my sons piano lessons fun and has him looking forward to going to his lessons each week. Mrs. Barton has a creative way of teaching music theory and this has been very positive with my sons beginning level of understanding music. He has learned not only to play the piano but also how to read and count music. She has also raised his confidence to play the piano in front of people which was a challenge with his shyness. We can actually see him connecting with the music as he practices at home and when he plays at his recitals. Our son has rhythm and Mrs. Barton has definitely brought out his hidden talents! Thank you Mrs. Barton!

The website offered a FREE tour, so I signed my granddaughters up for the tour. The owner reached out to find out about my girls. Ray, the owner, called and asked many questions about my G-daughters and how I found out about Code Nijas. He asked about their ages, if they were interested in coding, did they understand what it was, did they have experience in coding, have they done coding, do they know what it was? I answered all of his questions and then asked why he was asking so many. He explained that his company was suing Get Out Pass because they abused the terms. In other words people were doing the exact same plan that I had. We wanted to use the free tour offered on the website to see if the girls were interested in coding and then use the Get Out Pass for the free class. The owner did not like that's what people were doing. He stated that based on the information I gave him about the girls they would not be a good fit for his program. I am furious that someone gets to determine what my girls are interested in based on answers from their g-ma. I will be contacting Get Out Pass and informing them of this. This owner seems to be hand-selecting who he wants in his classes and assign his staff too based on his belief on who is interested.

But the front desk completely changed the tone of the visit. When I arrived to watch my granddaughter, I simply asked where my daughter was. While I was standing right there, the two receptionists referred to my daughter as "the problem client" -- all because she had her baby with her. That comment was unnecessary, unprofessional, and honestly pretty bold to say in front of a family member. Her one‑year‑old sat quietly for two and a half hours without crying, fussing, or disturbing anyone. We even called ahead to confirm it was okay to bring her, and we were told yes. We live in Utah -- families bring their kids places. It's normal, and it certainly doesn't make someone a "problem." And just to be transparent: you caught me on a calm day. All I wanted to do was get to my grandbaby. On a different day, with a comment like that, I might've been the one you considered "the problem." So I'm choosing to address it respectfully here instead of reacting in the moment. Everyone else in the salon was kind and welcoming, but that front‑desk interaction overshadowed an otherwise great experience. I'm not asking for anything; I just want you to be aware of how it came across. Respect and professionalism at the front desk matter, and comments like that stick with people.
