Gina Barton is a fabulous teacher and musician. I had the privilege of taking piano lessons with her for many years and then later I hired her to accompany me as a vocal soloist. As a teacher she is great with all ages. She is a delight to watch with young children and she captivates their attention by using her own innovative methods to teach them piano techniques, theory, sight-reading, rhythm, and music artistry in a way that will stick with them for years to come. She is a fabulous soloist and accompanist. I have enjoyed each and every time we have worked as an ensemble. She is extremely sensitive to the musicality and direction of the soloist. This is vital when working with a pianist. It's either the life or death of your performance. Her piano skills compliment my work as a singer and help to inspire all those who work with her whether they are a vocalist or instrumentalist. As a person, Gina is a kind, warm, and generous lady. She has a deep passion for learning, teaching, and people in general. She has been someone who has influenced me as an artist and she has had a great impact on my life. Barton Music School is very convenient for us because it is only a couple minutes away, which is especially helpful when you have multiple children. Mrs. Barton is a very skilled and knowledgeable educator and very aware of the different personalities, strengths and weaknesses of each child. Our children have been attending the group classes, and we feel that it is very helpful for them to see other children similar to their own ages playing piano as well. Having a separate waiting room where we can observed from the tv screen is very helpful to be aware of what they are working on without having to physically be in the same room as the class (for my children, they tend to behave better when they don't see mom or dad around, if you know what I mean ;)). I feel lucky to have found Gina Barton. My daughter has made amazing progress. Other teachers assign pages in books and theory pages, but Gina teaches hands on so my daughter is learning not just working through theory pages. Gina has so much experience and an extraordinary way of teaching. Recording portions of the lesson has helped a lot. She can go back and watch her instructions and play along with her. Gina makes it fun and explains things so she can understand them. Gina teaches in such a way that my daughter wants to practice. Choosing Gina to be our kids piano teacher is one of the best choices that I have ever made. Gina is the real deal! What she (and Mark) have created has been so great for our family. Gina is amazing. She has been teaching our son for about a year now and we love the progress he is making. Gina uses a mix of traditional teaching methods with lots of technology. It works perfectly with young children because they can be so easily distracted. Not only that, but she teaches non-stop! She always seems to have students coming in and out of her studio. Gina is a really talented teacher who really took me to a new level musically. Progress is part of her program. There are many teachers out there who are just doing it for a job but aren't really good at it. I had a few like that, but Gina loves what she does and puts everything into it. She also expects you to practice and gives you all the tools to know what to do when you're away from your lessons. Gina Barton was our third attempt for a piano teacher in 3 years. We started our son and daughter with her program and they advanced much more quickly than the 3 years prior.
