I've been to a few screenings at CAA, the first people you will come into contact with are the Valets. Valet parking is free if you're there for a screening, they actually can get 5 stars just for that, the valets represent the company very well, they greet you with a smile, they look happy to be there and they're ready to work, and they can answer questions if you don't know where to go, a lot of staff, who are eager, enthusiastic and professional. I love that! The woman signing me in greeted me with a professional, yet warm smile, overall, makes me feel happy to be there, building well designed, might be intimidating to get lost in there because it' s huge, but there are staff everywhere to help you. Overall 5 stars, I didn't eat the food at the reception, but I should have, I went by myself so I left, but they had wine and the food smelled amazing, overall great experience, everything a 5 star agency should be! Film was fantastic but that's not what this review is about. read more

When I respecfully contacted CAA to suggest that someone contact Ms. Lopez' agent to let her know about this practice, the receptionist told me, "I don't need to hear your ideas!". What was I doing? I checked in with their security guard at the front desk and he was nothing but rude! I was actually in a great mood walking in there and he made sure to destroy that as quick as he could. It's crazy that they would let somebody like that be the first impression to someone who walks through their doors. How do you rate a place that trains kids fresh out of school to be selfish, egotistical, power and money hungry animals? I give this place 5 stars because as an agency, you can't get any more connected or more politically powerful. When CAA calls, people pick up the phone, thats what you want working for you and your career. Sure William Morris would like to think it's still the leader, but CAA came up with packaging and so many other things that have made it hundreds of millions of dollars over the year. WMA has the old school and a HUGE amount of real estate in Beverly Hills that keeps the money coming in. THIS IS NOT the place to go if you are searching for an agent, this place DOES NOT take cold calls or open up your lousy 8x10 if you send it to them. You can only get representation by becoming a famous actor with some other agency. Then when you have garnered enough attention and word of mouth THEY will come looking for YOU. Sure it's possible to befriend a trainee and wait for them to get on a desk and then ask them to hip-pocket you, but if the agency is having a lean year the upper management will force everyone to get rid of their hip-pocket clients in order to save money on postage and messengers. Sorry kids, go start with Bobby Ball or one of the C list agencies and work up to a B list agency like Gersh. Once your B list agent has worked up an interest around town for you, and lets not forget that YOU must be talented enough to stay in the auditioning and booking jobs game, then at some point down the road, CAA, Endeavor, ICM or WMA will come begging to get a piece of your 10%. TWO STARS!!! I've been waiting down here 48 minutes. I know this because I checked my watch when I walked in and I still believe in a thing called Professionalistm. I tried to reach out to my Agent, whom was introduced to me via electronic mail through my old pal, a certain multi-time daytime Emmy nom director/actor who I won't name here for sake of his privacy. While it's very nice in here, I prefer the building on Santa Monica and Wilshire where I felt respected when I went to a screening of a certain globe nominated screwball noir which shall not be named for confidentiality reasons. Anyway, this is very disrespectful. Trevor wouldn't let me upstairs, even though I'm a client here and respected in my field. I've introduced many a-list actors to many other a-list actors, including Walter Mathieu, who I won't name here for sake of his privacy. This is a real slap in the face!! The valet gentleman was nice, and the magazine selection at the gift shop downstairs is above average. But, if my Agent does not return my calls in the next 5-8 minutes, I might consider bringing my latest script to the gentlemen At Endeavor. They think they're so COOL because they're Rolling calls while huge clients feel lonely downstairs in the multimillion doller dollar $$$ lobby next to the WhoTUbe Youtoob Yoytuybe Stars. I interned at CAA last summer. They gave me the "keys to the kingdom," allowing me schedule 1-on-1 meetings with any agent whose assistant would schedule me in. Kevin Huvane and Richard Lovett even spent an hour inspiring us! (Although Richard had to leave a bit early to take a call from Bruce Willis - #understandable.) The intern program was well organized, paid, and gave me a fantastic/comprehensive view of the company. CAA isn't just an agency anymore, it is the premier company in entertainment, period. I was awed by the way agents spent time in weekly meetings discussing ways to advance the careers of their clients, brands, etc. and how the whole LA office got together for monthly updates. The teamwork and culture at CAA is their secret elixir of success. That all being said, the life of the assistants was pretty intense and they often had to skip lunch and do personal tasks for their agents. The only reservation I have about the company is the competitiveness in upward mobility. Overall, CAA is a lean company that is growing. The agents are quick, aggressive, and if they aren't in line with the culture of the company, they will not survive. CAA is an innovative company that is in my opinion, an unparalleled place to learn about the entertainment industry while slowly building a network. read more
