Lisa baked it that morning and it was so delicious, everyone in the family was raving about how it was one of the best tasting cakes they'd ever had. When I called Adonna's Bakery Ft Walton (now closed and moved to the Destin location), Serena was so helpful and was able to fit me into their busy schedule. Not only did they fit me in, she also made it possible for me to have the wonderful cake tasting and not have to order my cake blind. We scheduled a cake tasting 3 days before the wedding and made our last minute decorating wishes and finishing touches. They delivered and set up our beautiful beach themed wedding cake and it was super yummy! Moist and had a great flavor! It has now been almost 1 year since our beautiful wedding day...my husband and I are going back to Florida to celebrate our one year anniversary in a few weeks and we are so looking forward to another Adonna's Bakery cake. I scheduled with Serena to have an anniversary cake made; they are creating a replica of our wedding cake top tier at a very reasonable price. We cant wait! Again...Serena was great! A wrong order, bad cake, and unfriendly customer service…read more I was excited to order a cake for my husbands 30th birthday.. I ordered german chocolate cake with no fondant and didn't get either. They spelled my husbands name wrong which was something I emphasized ALONG with loving german chocolate. I was told they had the best german chocolate frosting and I was making a good choice... too bad my husband and I didn't get to taste what was our supposed good choice. Granted, the cake was cute, but it was a dull chocolate cake and it was more fondant than anything so the cake that there actually WAS to eat, wasn't much. I called to let them know the cake was wrong and not what I ordered. I wasn't looking for money back or anything, I just felt it was important that they know they got a very important order 100% wrong. I experienced nonstop attitude and had to actually calm the manager down b/c she got so upset with me that the order was wrong, which tells me she didn't' believe me. (what happened to the customer is always right?!) She hung up on me for calling her sweetie (when trying to calm her down) and they offered to pay for the half of the cake, which was nice. THOUGH it would have been nicer if there was actual follow through. A month later and I've heard nothing and haven't seen a check, which is fine but again, another lie and wrong order. I don't recommend this place based on a wrong order, not having great tasting cake, and horrible customer service. I wish my experience had been better, even if they apologized up front that would have made me happier. It was like pulling teeth to be heard and finally receive a disgruntled apology for the wrong order and mis-spelled name.

"The kids" brought a box of these home today and we anxiously gathered around the table (after a delightful dinner) and shared a family tasting of six of today's offerings from The Thick Cookie Co. Our consensus on these thick blobs of delectable sweets was mixed. (So, no true consensus except on aroma. That was out of the box amazing!) No one cookie came out on top for all 6 of our crew. We all had our own faves with Toffee garnering most top votes. Making/baking a cookie this thick with thin edges is a true skill and Thick Cookie Co did this well for most of the assortment. However, two fell a little "gooey" short when the centers simply were very akin to raw dough. Flavors of all cookies were much like the aromas - big, bold, and enticing. (My personal favorite was the wedding cake with an abundance of almond ... very reminiscent of marzipan.) Snickerdoodle was a big hit (our baking family goes back generations with this style treat.) Toffee also came in strong at or near the top as mentioned above. Chocolate chip was a bit of a mess....but a generous abundance of chocolate in the center will do that. Least favorite was the cherry cheese cake....it just bitterly missed the mark. So....head in for your sugar overload...these will help you get there in a most "spoonful of sugar" delicious, delightful way.
