Lately, I haven't been that big on sweets. It has to be really special for me to be willing to use up my calories. But my husband had been here before and insisted I try something and OMG... EXCELLENT doesn't even begin to cover it. We had the Sticky Bun Croissant (topped with buttercream icing and a caramel-y, slightly hardened bottom) and--HELP JESUS. That thing is PHENOMENAL. Like... immediate silence once we started eating. We also grabbed a slice of the 15-layer chocolate cake (layers of cake, chocolate ganache, and chocolate mousse) and it was straight-up fantastic. Even the bottled drinks were great--I had a sparkling pink grapefruit drink that was really good. My husband previously had the carrot cake bread pudding and still talks about it like it changed his life. Everything... and I mean EVERYTHING we tasted was nothing short of amazing. We literally went back 20 minutes later to grab something to bring to my mother-in-love who lives in another state. That's how serious it was. They also have a few celebratory alcoholic beverages if you're grabbing items for a party, event, or special occasion. And they make beautiful baked goods for events too, so definitely check them out if you've got something coming up. Lady Ray's also offers tea parties! You do need to book in advance, but the setup was so intimate, elegant, and cute. I didn't take a photo of the party while it was happening, but I was genuinely impressed. Such a fun idea for a girlfriends' outing. And Lady Ray herself? Absolutely beautiful, both inside and out. Her friendly demeanor, great sense of humor, and service-oriented heart make you want to come back again and again. If you're anywhere near Lady Ray's, I highly recommend stopping by. My fiance and I did "Tea for Two" at Lady Ray's and had a great time! It was served in 3 courses by the owner herself, who was so lovely and friendly. The first course was a delicious earl grey with scones, the second was a chamomile tea with the tea sandwiches (YUM), and the third was either a cinnamon tea or a peppermint tea with all the sweets (I'm sure the variety may change over time). We were super full by the end and couldn't even finish half of all the goodies, so we got a to-go box to take the rest home. For the price ($38.99 per person) it was nice to get so much to eat and drink! read more

What a nice little gem in our neighborhood. I've tried several fresh and delicious bakery items and the sandwiches are unique and so good. My sister and her daughter are coming to visit in a couple of weeks and I'm going to take them for one of Lady Ray's tea parties. That should be a memorable experience. I've been told their special carrot cake must be ordered ahead of time but is unforgettable for a special occasion. I'm looking forward to trying it. We ordered a sticky bun, blueberry croissant along with lunch sandwiches on a Sunday late morning. We also bought a cookie to go. It was all SOOO VERY GOOD. We commented several times to ourselves we wanted to go back to try more, but they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. We understand everyone needs a day off but had they been open or our trip was longer we would have gone back for more, probably a few more times. First of all I wanted to get my mom a specialty birthday cake as she was coming into town to celebrate her birthday, she and I both are huge carrot cake lovers/connoisseurs and the internet did NOT steer me wrong on choosing Lady Ray's - good God, between 4 of us within 2 days time we'd fully devoured the cake, it was divine! I went for a drive looking for some coffee, when I was driving through the Target area and saw a sign for cold brew, so I made a quick turn and parked. I walked in and was quickly impressed with the owner who was explaining the menu to a group of ladies. Now the space is small and intimate, but the food is well curated. I ordered a delicious cold brew and also picked up a chocolate croissant and key lime croissant. It was all so delicious! We are considering ordering the buttercream board while here in vacation. This place is like a little hidden treasure in the middle of Destin. You wouldn't think much of it from the outside (it's in the same shopping center as Target) but their coffee and croissants are absolutely amazing. Their sandwiches are creative and delicious as well. The dirty Chai is my favorite latte and I crave it like no other coffee anywhere. It's amazing how people will wait in line at Starbucks inside Target when there is amazing espresso just a couple storefronts down with no wait. After reading the reviews I decided to try this bakery instead of my usual at the donut hole. It was a huge disappointment I got a croissant with chocolate buttercream and a couple of cupcakes for family members all of the pastries were dry and hard they tasted old. I loved the cake I had made to celebrate my brother and his new wife (they eloped so we wanted to get a cake after the fact). It was so easy to work with Heidi. After figuring out they are ONLY open as a bakery on the weekend (FRI-SUN) we went there on a Saturday and, to our absolute delight, had simply mouthwateringly delicious croissant sandwiches (special spices apparently). The best carrot cake I have ever tasted. Ever. That's saying a great deal because I bake and cook on a regular basis. I went with this place on a whim (the name cracked me up) for my wedding cake, and it turned out near identical to the drawing I submitted (I'm also an artist).
