IKEA - IKEA at Promenade on Providence, Charlotte

    IKEA

They have a wide variety of items for your home office, etc. The value that you pay appear is very affordable for the average consumer. They have plenty of staff that are working while I was there. I saw someone putting together a piece. Another person was doing cleaning and it appeared three people who work there were having a meeting Despite their being enough staff no one greeted me or asked what I needed so I decided to leave and order the items online. The store is not as big as the IKEA near the university, but it has a pretty good selection. I hope that they can improve their customer service.

The IKEA South Charlotte Plan & Order Point opened in mid-October 2024 and while it was crowded at…read morethe time, it has definitely calmed down. Unlike the full IKEA in Charlotte's University neighborhood, this is a much smaller footprint in the Promenade on Providence shopping center. Some similarities exist. The display area upstairs at the other IKEA locations has been shrunk down and this store has several setups of their furniture that you can walk through and get a proper feel for how it might fit in your home. Kitchens, bedrooms, closets, living room areas all set up with shelving, accessories and other accoutrements. A few other display areas with beds and furniture are set up with chairs and tables so that you can test and try out various IKEA pieces. You'll find some smaller accent items - clocks, picture frames, lamps, bedding, etc. Pricing on all is clearly marked. A handful of associates are here, ready and willing to help you with working out the various designs and customizing them for your order. There is no food to be purchased here, sadly. No meatballs or salmon or other great Swedish treats from coolers or from a cafeteria. This is a nice browse but it's not a destination shopping experience. For that, you'll need to drive up to the other store. [Review 73 of 2025 - 4048 in North Carolina - 23641 overall]

Pottery Barn - This is what Pottery Barn calls a custom built chair. Nice fit. They should be embarrassed to charge what they do.

Now they say it will be January. We would NEVER have ordered them if we knew they wouldn't be here for the holidays. They will not let us cancel the order even though they aren't scheduled for production until January. The store employees say they have to check with corporate and corporate says it's up to the store. Finally they tell me they have to contact the manufacturer to see if they can be canceled. What?? They aren't even supposed to be made until next year!!! Now we are totally stuck and no one with PB will contact us back. Horrible! They say we will have an answer in 24 - 48 hours but it doesn't happen. I only wish I had read other similar reviews online before we ordered this time. Big mistake!!

I recently bought upholstered furniture from Pottery Barn- a sofa and a chair. The experience was…read moredismal. First of all, it took months between the time I ordered the furniture and the time it was delivered. The sofa was fine but the chair cushions were badly made. They were the wrong dimensions and didn't fit the chair at all, and were badly stuffed and lumpy. And the chair cost $799 + tax. Pottery Barn was apologetic bur actually took no responsibility. The upshot was that I returned the chair. I paid for the chair in full, but Pottery Barn is now telling me to get my cash back I'll have to contact the credit card bank. But the money hasn't been refunded to the card. I want a check from Pottery Barn, but it looks like I'll have to have more aggravation before I get my money back.. I'd advise everyone NOT to buy furniture from them. I gave them a one-star rating only because a no-star rating isn't an option.

Straight ahead were welcoming signs, some larger furniture pieces, couches, chairs, accent tables. Lots of seasonal Easter decorations. We soon got caught up in the "cute" (my wife's contribution) and extensive selection of Easter dinnerware, small thoughtful gifts, table settings with both decorative paper plates and ceramic ones. "We are gonna need a cart," she said. We were both finding some great table items at very good prices. With the value pricing, good organization and orderliness of the store, clean wide aisles, and bright lighting, we both thought, "this place is going to give Marshall's a run for its money." Turns out, they are sister stores in the same holding company. Home Sense seemed like an upgraded Marshall's focused on home, leaving out the clothes, shoes, and sometimes sporting equipment of Marshall's. Instead, more emphasis on home decor and decorating, still retaining the cookware and gourmet (ish) foods. Staff was ample through the store and helpful. Bottom line, the prices and selection were fantastic for this decor store. Recognizing it is not a niche, specialty decor store, for a larger chain and also inside their store family, this one is a winner.

The value is flawless and I am very impressed with the variety of options available in the store. It's definitely much more than furniture in the store which is a good thing.
