Dr. Murillo is amazing. Both my daughter and son have been seen by her since birth. Appointments…read morecan be made online and you can even access their medical and immunization records online, too! Staff is always friendly and great with kids. Downside is the wait time if you go at odd hours, I always try to make the first appointment (7:45am) or the first one after lunch (I believe it's 1:45pm).

I've never been treated so poorly by a pediatric office, especially when advocating for my child…read morewith autism. My son's referrals for speech, OT, and PT were sent multiple times, and I even received a message saying they were available. When I called to confirm, the staff, including a manager named Nancy, told me the referrals were still "pending" and that it could take up to 7-10 business days. I explained that I received messages via text and on the patient portal app that clearly states that the referral is ready and to schedule my appointment now. I attached all the messages I received and Nancy "the manager" said that didn't mean it was ready, it meant it can take 7-10 business days and that its "processing"! She was clearly gas lighting me rather than helping a long time customer and patient!!! I explained that my son has autism and that this delay affects his therapy and progress. Instead of offering help or compassion, the manager tried to gaslight me, insisting that a message clearly saying "the referral is available" actually means it isn't. She spoke to me in a dismissive and condescending way, showing no understanding or empathy for a parent trying to get medically necessary care for her child. It is completely unethical for someone in a managerial role at a pediatric practice to treat families this way. Referrals that have been signed should be immediately accessible, as they always have been. The lack of professionalism and accountability here is alarming. Additionally, I called Pediatric associates again and spoke to a rep called Neomi who was so nice and was able to fax me the referrals herself immediately and she also sent it to the provider. This was minutes after I hung up with Nancy who clearly said to me that she was unable to expedite even after I explained my son is level 2 autistic and any time away from therapy will cause regression! Nancy should be at the very least be demoted! Parents should not have to fight this hard for something so basic. I hope higher management reviews this situation, because no family should experience this kind of treatment, especially not in a clinic that claims to care for children.

I don't care how many years of experience you have, but that is not all it takes to be a successful…read moredoctor. I have so much to say that I'm not even sure where to start . When I had my daughter in 2007, Dr. Perez came highly recommended by my obstetrician. I thought it was a great idea because its literally down the hall from his Palmetto Hospital office. Let me start by saying that the first day he came to visit my daughter in the hospital he showed up all sour faced after 7 pm. I found this a bit odd given the situation. No biggie. The next day when I was finally going to be discharged, we waited, and waited, and waited all day long and nothing. Finally, at about 8 pm, in comes Dr. Perez finally ready to sign the discharge papers. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I don't know about you, but every time I watch mothers leaving the hospital on TV or when you look at your friends pictures, everyone is leaving during the day. I thought this was just insensitive. There was no need for me to have to leave with a newborn at that time. It was even a bit chilly at time because you know how that nearly "autumn" Miami weather is, hot like hell during the day and breezy at night. Once it was time to go to his office for her first check ups is when the truth of the matter came out. I usually asked for the earliest appt. This was usually 8 am. By the time I would get there, before 8, there was already a couple of moms outside. They too either had 8:00 appointments or 8:30. You have 2 rooms to choose from Sick or Not Sick. Apparently, a lot of the people either didn't read well in English or didn't care and quite often I was with my newborn next to some boogery kids hacking all over us. By the time it was 10 am and no one had been really called (this happend almost every time) I would ask the front desk what was going on. THere response "Dr. isn't here yet." WTF? I have to wait 2 hours for him to stroll himself at whatever time he wants? Finally, when we would get called in, they would assign you a room, ask you to strip the kids, and then proceed to have you sitting in a very cold room for an extra 20-30 minutes. UNACCEPTABLE! I know what your thinking, he's a great doctor, with a wonderful personality and that makes the wait all worth while, right? Not even close. He's in and he's out. He tells you what he has to tell you and if you can get a question in...lucky you! No smiles, no baby talk, no "so do you have any questions?". Nothing, zip, nada. What he is running is a factory. In and out, job done, the end. Let me not forget to mention that his staff is equally as rude and annoying. I don't remember their names but the receptionist and the older lady who handle the front are a drag. His assistant Barbie is the nicest of the bunch, but she seems over worked and under appreciated. Then when you are finally there, as a last little reminder of how sucky it all is, you have to pay a hefty parking fee. All because he took his sweet ass time getting there. If I lived in a town where he was the only pediatrician and I had to take it, well then I have no choice, but lucky for me I have plenty of choices and have found the BEST pediatricians. Walk-ins welcome, short wait, friendly, knowledgeable, close to home, free parking, late hours for those parents who work a bit later, the works!

Ok, so I have to write this review because I'm such a fan of Dr. Perez, it's not even funny…read more Let me start off with the fact that my sons are now 17 and 15 and yes, we still go see him. Yes, I agree with the person who wrote the other review that there is a long wait time and yes his bed side manner is not rude just very professional until he gets to know you, then he is pleasant. However his expertise is invaluable. never ever have I met a doctor that is more knowledgeable than him. He has literally saved my sons life on more than one occasion. Both my sons were asthmatic to the point that they both suffered thru 2bouts of hospitaled pneumonia and doctor Perez's expertise could not be doubted. T he hospital staff was in awe of him and followed his instructions to the tee or suffer his wrath (a very good ally in the world of nameless nurses and hospital staff). So yes it may take a while to be seen, but his knowledge and expertise in my opinion is well worth the wait.

My son had a skating accident during Christmas break 2017, where he went to his cousin's birthday…read moreparty and fell skating. My son told me he was ok but, I saw his leg swollen, and he kept saying no he was good. Long story short, my son ended up with a fracture in his ankle, where he was required to wear a cast on his left leg for one and half months and a boot for a month. During his last visit a couple of weeks ago, the doctor noticed that my son was walking with a limp and my son kept saying, "it hurts when I put pressure on it." The doctor prescribed physical therapy twice a week for the next six weeks. I called the number that the doctor gave my daughter to get an appointment for an evaluation, at first she's like I do not have anything available till mid March, but I advised her that his next appointment was at the end of the month. She advised me she would give me a call as soon as an appointment or cancellation appeared on her computer screen. I received a call within 24 hours and I was able to get an appointment the following week. Fast forward a week later, we came to our appointment on time, wait time to be seen was less than thirty minutes. We met my son's physical therapist (Miriam) very approachable and friendly and my son and her had an instant connection. This is my son first week of therapy and he has five more weeks to go. He's doing all his therapy exercises as instructed for one hour. Once his therapy is done, his favorite part where the therapist massages his ankle and applies some type of hot/cold cream for ten minutes. Kind of glad that I chose Nickalaus for my son's medical needs. Like I said before wait time is minimal once you sign in, have plenty of parking spaces, in and out promptly. I highly recommend this location if near this area.

The service provided at the Miami Lakes Nicklaus Urgent care Center was poor, lazy and…read moredisrespectful. They don't care about the patient, and they don't pay attention to the cues given by parents. I don't understand how they promote preventive care and being proactive if when you are proactive and try to prevent they don't pay attention to you. The type of care they provide is not what they promise. I took my daughter twice for consistent fever, the second time they did exactly the same as the first one. I asked for more testing to try to check on the reason and they refused. Additionally they tricked me saying they will see what could be done and the next thing I knew was that my daughter was being discharged. The doctor was extremely condescending. He should not be a doctor, made me feel like I was overreacting and overprotective. Long story short I took my child to a diff provider and with a simple x-ray they were able to tell she had pneumonia. This new provider agreed that when a fever is consistent for so many days you need to rule out other reasons instead of deciding that it is a virus. I should have listened to the signals, coffee machine has been broken for a loooong time. vending machine is broken too. I did not see any water fountain. It seems it is not important but it shows how much they care for the patient. The first time I took my daughter for this reason they called me right after left to check if I had paid. I confirmed I did and they even asked for the confirmation number (which I provided) and a descriptions of the person who took the payment (did not pay attention to that). Come on!!! aren't you able to send the bill if there is no payment instead of bothering a parent with a sick child with anything other than checking how is your child!!!! AVOID this place. There several complaints online about the quality of care here.
