This company conducted a site visit, took detailed measurements, and reviewed the overhangs. They were the only party with full knowledge of the conditions and the technical expertise to determine where and what type of support - if any- would be required. Despite lengthy email communication and an approved drawing, Creative Habitats never identified or called out any need for brackets. The first countertop cracked, and they blamed the support around our grill. That turned out to be inaccurate. Then they blamed the island's foundation. That also turned out to be inaccurate. At no point did they ever say that the overhangs needed support, despite more site visits. After the first failure, they expressly stated that they would coordinate with the pool contractor (they guy they blamed) before reinstalling the replacement. I provided his contact information for that purpose. That coordination must never have occurred, and this company sent installers again to proceeded with installation even though no brackets were in place. The second countertop cracked under the exact same conditions. Creative Habitats chose to reinstall twice on the same structure. These decisions were negligent and directly caused both failures. This company was supposed to have the expertise and visibility to prevent this outcome, and failed to do so -- twice. read more

While the showroom is beautiful and the staff are knowledgeable, we experienced many delays, and the staff did not respond to multiple voicemails and emails when we were trying to figure out what was happening. When Nese, the owner, finally responded, she was breathtakingly rude and arrogant -- she said we spent only a few thousand dollars and are not worth her trouble. I've never experienced "customer service" like this before in my life. I see that several others had similar experiences, and my contractor phoned me up a couple of years after my experience to tell me he was dealing with a client in tears over Nese's treatment. Our family has had yet ANOTHER excellent experience with Creative Habitats and it's owner, Nese. For our third collaboration, we hired their team to custom fabricate and install a dark quartz countertop and backsplash in our kitchen. We met with Nese twice in person to review our floorplan, pick edges and confirm the material selection. At each meeting (and in every email in between) Nese was patient, informative, pleasant and accommodating. Then, the turn-around time for our order was incredibly fast! She also kept us posted on timelines at every step. The Creative Habitats templating and installation team was excellent...careful, skilled and thorough. They paid special attention to how their countertop worked with our sink, cabinets and dishwasher. Total pros. The final result is spectacular - we absolutely LOVE our new kitchen and were especially moved by a surprise gesture from Nese as a Thank You gift. My husband and I had no idea how to go about selecting a countertop for our kitchen. After browsing at several large countertop facilities, we stopped in Creative Habitats because it was local and we were curious to see what it was all about. It's a good thing we did because Nese gave us a professional, crash course in how to select a countertop. She has a strong aesthetic eye, knows her stuff, and will share her thoughts on her perception of your taste level. She recommended some granite/quartz/marble dealers and we selected our slab after several visits and careful consideration. Nese opened our eyes to the beauty of marble but we ultimately selected a gorgeous quartz that is perfect for our kitchen. Creative Habitats took all existing measurements and cut the slab we chose. They worked with our specific scheduling needs around strict quarantining before the holidays. Nese's crew was careful and tidy as they worked. They came back to address a small issue with one portion of quartz - a seam needed to be re-adhered behind the oven. Also the crew installed our new kitchen sink with no question, which we weren't expecting. We plan to work with Nese for our future home renovation needs. I had an awful experience purchasing marble through the owner of Creative Habitats, Nese. The marble was not fabricated per our request and the installation was shoddy. When attempts were made to address the problems, the can was continually kicked down the road. During the whole resolution process she was arrogant, rude, and unprofessional. The installation issues still remain unresolved. Had I read the previous review and those posted elsewhere, I would not have patronized this business. Absolutely the worst! read more

I've rarely had as satisfying an experience for home renovation projects as with Nese and her people at Creative Habitats. They were informative, responsive and professional. The marble countertops we had installed were no simple or easy fit since the house was built in 1922 and nothing is "square." The quality of the installation was perfect as were the materials. I had a similar experience as several other reviewers below. Creative Habitats did a very poor job of both installing and cutting the stone for a kitchen I was installing. More importantly, they lied several times regarding the price of various stones and tiles, asking for more money after we committed and we were essentially stuck with them (imagine getting an estimate, giving a deposit and then the company holding back the installation until you paid more). The entire experience from start to finish was painful. Creative Habitats in Fanwood, NJ is not recommended. Note: Watch out as they will low ball you to get you to buy from them and then bait and switch - increasing the price. Very unethical. read more
