The design session was extremely helpful as we had an idea of what we wanted but didn't have the details in mind. Shirley asked us detailed questions about what was most important to us and our habits and created the a fabulous custom closet that's also very functional within our budget. We also did some custom cabinets to our living room TV unit. There was a miscommunication around the design but they reached out proactively to fix it. Ivan (or Evan?) and the installation team finished the job in 1 day instead of the 2 booked. They were extremely professional and efficient. I had a first consult with Closet Factory yesterday and it was amazing. The Designer Hilda came on time and was totally prepared with ideas and photos. She answered all of my questions and really spent time educating me and thoroughly explaining the process. It felt like a true collaboration as we worked together to design a home office that we have been thinking about doing for a while. I had a couple of underwhelming experiences with other companies and this experience was the total opposite. One Rep told me to "google offices" for ideas while he was in my home even though he knew he was coming out for a home office, warned me lighting 'will be expensive' after not even asking or knowing a budget along with other things that were a turn off. Extremely disappointed with the quality of my mom's new walk in closet. For the amount of money we paid, we were expecting a quality finish but instead ALL of the material has chips, what seems like glue is everywhere, it was left dusty and dirty, and the drawers are already not closing properly. Designer was also off with her measurements and because of HER mistake we were left with something which looks ODD and we must definitely did not agree to. Company's answer: that's too bad. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THIS COMPANY!! They will only be attentive and nice to you before they have your money, once everything has been awfully installed, they will ignore you. Im no designer. so if the measurements are off how would I know. closets needed adjusting. Compant said they would fix at additional cost!!! I found Closet Factory through Costco's website. I connected with the company online and immediately received a response from a representative named Melissa. She was super friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. She came to my house and did measurements of my closet spaces and also asked questions about what I was looking to accomplish with my storage. She immediately creates 3D models of our closets so we could see what it would look like post installation. We then were able to talk through the designs and adjust accordingly. We loved how customized it would be to our space. She was able to give me a comprehensive estimate and timeline for installation the same day. We were very excited and signed the contract within the week. We needed some additional time to prepare the closet space for the installation because the company does not include any pre-work before installation day. I wish this was part of the service offered by Closet Factory but it's something someone handy can do themselves or something your local handy person can do. On the day of the installation, I was surprised that only one person was assigned to the job but "K" turned out to be very experienced and efficient - he did the four closet install in less than five to six hours time. We loved the finished product and have gotten so many compliments from our family and friends. The final product is not only impressive to look at but also feels very strong, high quality, and durable. Even though there needed to be a slight as adjustment to our closet due to a slight measurement issue, our representative Melissa worked tirelessly to find a resolution quickly and efficiently. She even arrived the same day to check in on the progress and brought extra panels needed to complete the job. I was so happy that the entire process was fast and easy. I would give zero stars if I could. I only wish I had done better research beforehand. Absolutely horrendous company to work with. Likely the most unprofessional group of people I have ever dealt with. The "worker" got to my house at 10am and was still working and not close to finishing at 9:30 pm. He told me that the company would not pay him if the job wasn't completed in one day. He finally had to leave because it was so dark outside he could not use the saw anymore. The designer Brett was very sweet and honestly the only reason I booked with them and at first she came the following day, agreed with my issues and noted more issues, then disappeared once (I assume) the company told her they didn't care about customers. It was finally "completed" over a month and a half later. I called daily and absolutely no one but the receptionist would get on the phone. Everyone was always "in a meeting." They have a customer service person, Gerard who never once answered a phone call or text message. When the job was finally "complete" in terms of their standards- not the customers- they had to reach out to me because the credit card on file had expired. It was ONLY THEN- after I repeatedly asked to speak to the owner- Drew- that he actually called me back. I was told from the office that he doesn't talk to customers- amazing right?!?! - but when he wanted his money, he found the time. He was completely dismissive of my complaints and only wanted his money. SOOO UNBELIEVABLY DISAPPOINTED. What a fortune I paid for such subpar work. I almost never comment negatively on a business but this needs to be exposed. read more

I tried to contact them after I found those two damages but the Manager named Rachel Sent me the email that they will not responsible for all damage and they will not fix it. This is ridiculous that they will do nothing about our damage. Also this is newly painted wall and after their installation it comes out like this. It is now February 10th and I am still waiting for my closet to be completed. I booked a consultation in SEPTEMBER 2020. I was shown the look of my closet and I signed and agreed. I was "installed" in November 2020. They showed up with smaller shelves, LED lights, that I have paid hundreds extra for, not working, and incorrect color hardware. I finally got my hardware corrected a couple weeks ago and still LED lights that do not work. The shelves in my closet were supposed to go up to the wall and they don't start for at least 6inches beyond the wall. All this empty space waisted. I am still waiting for my LED lights to work and I haven't had a call from my consultant or a manger to even apologize or offer something for all this headache. I warn anyone that is here to see reviews to go somewhere else! They aren't even cheaper with the terrible service they provide. Do not use this company. Terrible experience and it's still going on. read more

We used Closet Factory to do two closets in the guest room which were completely disorganized. Prices were better than their major competitors and the quality of the Canadian-sourced raw materials and American made products were very good. Our main issue was the communication was poor. They missed our scheduled install time and when I called to find out when they would arrive I was told they would call me 'right back', over a half an hour later they returned my call to tell me they were on the way. There was no follow up call to find out if we were satisfied with the install (we were not) as one set of shelves were not made adjustable as the drawings indicated. We scheduled a revisit and ordered another shelf. They arrived on time for this visit and installed the adjustable panel but brought the wrong size shelf which they had to cut. When they left we noticed the panel and shelves were not level and the shelves were tilted but since no one called after this install we will most likely have to reach out again at some point. read more

We were very satisfied with our Closet Factory experience. Our house is over 150 years old and the two closets that we were redoing were very strange. Rachel, their designer, had clever and space maximizing strategies. She also was sensitive to our budget while suggesting the few upgrades that made each space feel custom and special. I can't wait to do my own bedroom closet with her and i keep thinking of new spots that might need closet work (the pantry? The back hall?). Their installer was sensitive to our space and cleaned up very well. We had some last minute additional work because of issues with the older walls and he worked hard to finish everything in one day despite this set back. I appreciated his flexibility and hard work. Stay far far away from this company!! Worst customer service ever! We contracted to have the master walk-in closet, guest room reach in closet and bathroom cubby done. Install was scheduled for 2 full days. The installers showed up after noon each day and at the end of day 2 had not completed the job. The installer stated he would be back that weekend to complete the job. He never showed up and did not call. Mike Tripp, the owner said I should not have listened to the installer because he was not authorized to say he'd come out over the weekend. Mike, why would I NOT listen to what your employee tells me when he is in my home representing your company??? Tried to schedule a time to complete the job but since I work- I couldn't schedule during the week. They "don't work weekends". They finally came out several weeks later - on a weekend- showed up 3 hours late and still did not finish the job. I had already taken 2 days off work for install and now had to take yet another day off to accommodate them. Mike Tripp said it was my fault the job wasn't done timely because I couldn't take additional time off work. I have never worked with a company- let alone the OWNER of a company that treats their customers so poorly. Do yourself a favor and do not use this company. The experience was not good. The designer was lovely however the communication and service were awful. The receptionist; Suzanne, has no experience dealing with or attempting to meet the needs of the paying customer. And her attitude was despicable. She never returns calls (after multiple calls), made you feel as though you were bothering her when she actually answered a call and despite escalation through the designer, who did his best to apologize for her behavior, no apology was ever made by Suzanne nor the Manager - Lisa. The amount charged for the closet was not worth the money, especially as a result of the lack of customer service, the lack of courteous staff, rude behavior and absurd delays. I would recommend doing your research before you make your selection, there are other complaints I unfortunately did not review, prior to making my decision. Be smart, stay well. read more
