Every time I go here, either hosting a birthday party or just to free my mind and paint, the staff is always so welcoming, sweet and nice. The items to choose from are from cups to bowls and even nice magnets that can be gifted to others. The prices are very reasonable and they always do a great job explaining the process and helping us out. Recently my mother hosted a birthday for my little sister and it was a blast. They held more than 11 people and did a great job glazing our paintings in 1hr. We had the other hour to eat pizza that we provided although they have variety options that includes cake and pizza as well, we just didn't choose that since we had custom made cakes and other items. We had so much fun painting here! I had been to a similar place and decided to give this place a shot, since I knew how much fun it was. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The studio is so colorful and creatively decorated! This place is great for kids and adults of all ages. They offer two styles of ceramics. One type is a fired ceramic that you can eat/drink from it. You will have to come back in about a week to pick it up. The other style is plaster that you paint and glaze and take home that day). First pick your piece of ceramic. Each piece is priced differently depending on size and style. They have so many to choose from. Magnets, ornaments, pots, mugs, vases, animals, etc. I really wished they had more cute pots to choose from. I love painting pots that I can use for plants. One cool thing is, if you pick a pot the owner can put a hole in the bottom for drainage! Next you paint! Pick your colors and brushes and get to work! Take all the time you need! They give you shirts to wear so you don't make a mess on your clothes! I'm excited to go pick up my piece of art. Hopefully, it turned out good! I come here now and then to relax and paint. Sometimes there would be birthday parties going on and kids running around (but that's okay since i love kids lol). They have items to pain for every age. Some of the larger items are more pricier, while the smaller items are less expensive. The staff is friendly and are always available to help. There's a variety of color paints that they let you use. Sometimes the brushes are old and aren't that great, so you'll just have to improvise and try to use the color construction paper to make fine-point brushes. This place is kid/family-friendly. They play Disney songs and have a "under the sea" wall-themed restroom. Love coming here and would recommend it for those who are creative and wanna have fun painting :) read more

Staff was fairly helpful, mostly stayed in the back room so you'd have to go find them if you needed something. The lead helper was rather intrusive and asked many if the customers personal questions. Bring your own brushes! I understand many children use these brushes, but it is clear they are not well taken care of. They were all crusted with paint and all need to be replaced. Ceramic pieces came back in the time they told me it would. But after spending over three hours painting our ceramic pieces, 2 out of 4 of them had OBVIOUS red finger prints all over them after firing. Clearly no care was taken when loading these pieces. Nothing was mentioned when they were picked up. We will not be returning to this location. read more

A friend was raving about this place, and I'm very glad she encouraged my less-than-artistic self to give it a try. They have tons of items to paint, from kitchen items to decor. The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff walks you through all you need to know before letting you have at it. I was sure my bowl would look like a kindergarten art project, but it came out pretty cute and now regularly holds my ice cream...I mean my Kale salad. What ice cream? Love this place! It's not fancy or slick, but it IS pretty much heaven for all three of my artistically-inclined kiddos. They have a ton of pieces from which to choose, and you also get to decide whether you paint with regular ol' paint - which means you take your piece with you - or do the kind that gets fired and becomes glossy, which also means your piece is food-safe. I did a gigundous mug that kind of looks like I was blindfolded whilst painting. But I do love it so, and use it almost every day; the glaze is still thick and shiny and awesome. Everyone there is helpful and nice. They have official birthday party packages, with a separate room and a fun setup. Someone on staff realized we were there to celebrate a birthday in an unofficial way, and they invited my daughter to add her handprint to the ceiling tile with all the official birthday-havers for the day! That was super cool of them. This is a great place to spend a few hours AND have something to show for it! They get pretty busy on the weekends, so go earlyish if you can. And if you have ovaries, they have a BYOB ladies' night once a month too. I hate to see what I'd turn out under the influence... but maybe my painting skills would magically improve. Great indoor activity for kids and grown-ups of all ages! We went because it's been a very wet month, it's too soggy for playgrounds, and we needed something to do. I brought my 14-year-old stepdaughter and 3-year-old son. All of us had a blast! You choose from a wide array of pre-made ceramic objects, and a staff member notes them on a ticket. Then you just sit and paint! It's that easy. Smocks are provided, paint and brushes are on the table. There are ceramic pieces starting at just a few dollars, and some pricey larger ones. Most that we saw ranged from $7 - $12. There's trays, bowls, cups, plates, animals, wall plaques, seasonal items, piggy banks, you name it. It's very affordable, considering there are no other fees (for entry, glazing, etc.) and you get a good couple hours out of the experience. It's a lot of fun. I didn't plan to paint, but ended up doing a piece. It's surprisingly cathartic. For more experienced painters, there are pencils, stencils, and little paint mixing palettes. Even for little kids or adult novices (like myself) it's an accessible and enjoyable time. You have a variety of colors and brush types. The space is clean, organized, and comfortable, and the staff is extremely friendly. There's a hand washing station (and the paint washes off easily) as well as a bathroom. There's also a play area where kids can hang during the 30 minutes or so that it takes for pieces to be glazed and dried. It kept my 3-year-old well entertained. Again, the staff is very kid- and parent-friendly and made us very comfortable. It makes a huge difference. We went during a busy time, while a birthday party was going on, and we still had plenty of room and smiling staff support. Verdict: Very fun, affordable way to spend an hour or two. My co-workers and I bought a deal from Groupon back in January (I think we paid like $12 for it and it was worth up to $25) and bought it thinking we would do it whenever are schedules would match up.. Well 6 months later we got it together for one of their Thursday's Ladies Nights. (which I believe they have one once a month). So that fit our deal because we are all ladies from work, no men, no husbands or boyfriends required. LOL So we went in there last week and all met up there after work. It started at 6 and lasted til 10. We all brought are own drinks, wine, beer ladies wine coolers etc. Some of the other girls brought some snacks, chips, cheese and I even seen some ladies pick up some pizzas. So we just put them all on a table it was open to share w/ everyone if you chose to. I thought that was nice so you could have a little bit of a few things if you had so wanted. As soon as we walked in one of the ladies that worked there had greeted us very nice and kind of just of the bat stated on one side of the room and the pieces of those shelves that you could take with you that same night after they dried/glazed them. And on the other side those ones you would have to wait about a week or so and they would call you when ready. No Biggie.... So you can pick and get started at your convenience. We weren't in a rush so all 7 of us walked around trying to decided what we wanted to paint since we had no idea where to start. 1. They had the prices on the back of every item. LOVED THAT.. don't you just hate when you have to ask an employee when things AREN'T priced??!! I DO... 2. Things were what I thought were reasonably priced. Anywhere from like $3 to probably $30. (and the most expensive things were like a big cookie jar/ large dishes and things for kitchen). They had everything from: Cats, Dogs, Horses, Roosters, Sunflowers, Piggy Banks,Texas themed items, some kid friendly choices Spiderman things, Ocean themed things, from Sea horses, to fish and little knick/nack things. Coffee Mugs, Kitchen items (like spoon holders, measurement spoons, plates, cups, trays.. and the list goes on). So they have anything you could look for yourself, or a gift for someone for ANY age. That's what makes it a great place for anyone. And not everyone is an expert painter, but that's the fun of it. ;) I ended up picking out one item from each side of the room. A nice Welcome Sign... which took a while to paint because choosing the right colors seemed to be the hardest part! And I also chose a Ring Holder. Which was one they were going have to wait to give me until the following week. So they gave us separate paint from the rest and let us choose whatever paints we wanted. So I really do suggest you going and seeing this place and what it has to offer. You better hope you come in here on a day when the boss's attitude is good because she is NOT professional. I witnessed her get in some girls face with her small child right there over a misunderstanding of payment. Talk about personal space, this woman looked like she was ready to fight. The lady with the kid had to wait outside for her sons paintings & change. This woman needs to realize she can't act like that around customers & especially children! Funny part is the lady asked the boss to talk outside to not make a scene snd the woman threatened to call the cops. Im just shocked...I don't support that kind of behavior & am glad I was also on my way out. I will NOT be returning to this location... They also had a fun little area for kids to play while they waited for their work to dry (which was only around 30 minutes), and the staff was super helpful! I've come here about 4-6 times in my life in a span of over a decade. The staff is always friendly as ever, and kids (and adults) love getting creative with the pieces they have to offer you to paint!! I love arts and crafts and though I do not live near this location, I don't mind going out of the way to take anyone here because the experience is always great. Obviously kid friendly and super fun. They'll glaze your piece with glitter however you or the kid wants, and the staff is great at making kids feel in control of their masterpiece, which I love. I also tend to make great small talk with other customers here when I am painting. Love love love! This was a date for my husband and I. We selected ceramic, functional pieces, over the myriad of very cute plaster pieces. We were then invited to don smocks and select a palette of glazes from color tiles. We were there for maybe an hour and a half and thoroughly got a kick out of being creative, but getting to leave the real 'work' and cleanup to somebody else--Everything should be like that. wish i could give no stars. my boyfriend and i went to paint items when we came to pick them up the store was closed for over a week for back to school. the following 2 weeks we came back to pick them up and were told they threw them away due to us "taking to long to come claim them" when i had spoke on the phone TWICE with them in the previous weeks and not once was i told i needed to come before a certain date, in fact i was told over the phone "come in whenever you can" whats made worse is that we were told by an employee that the manager would call us back and its been 2 weeks and i haven't heard anything, no call, no refund, NOTHING. it sad that they would throw away someones art that just doesn't seem right at all. i really wish they did something about this because i would love to come back but as of now this place has threw away our items and has not contacted us like we were told. read more

My family loves this place!! It is very affordable. My daughters and I painted a total of 4 pieces and it only cost us $25. They had a lot of fun choosing what they wanted to paint from the great wall of plaster doohickeys. The paint and paintbrushes were ready and waiting for them when they were done deciding. The drying time was only 20 minutes, so we could take our plaster pieces home the same day. I had a blast painting with them. My friend and I really like this place. She brought me here one day, and we just spent at least half our Saturday here painting stuff. I painted a piggy bank for myself, while my friend painted a mug and a jewelry case (unfinished). I spent an hour just sitting there and trying to figure how I wanted to paint my pig. They have enough colors to choose from, but wish they had different shades of some colors. They also have 2 different types of paint: one for dining ware and one for ceramic decor. After I spent hours panting my pig, they heated it and I was able to take it home within 15 minutes or so. With dining ware, you have to let them fire it up so that you're able to use it. They say it takes up to 2 weeks, but it took my friend about 3 weeks to get her mug back. The people there are so friendly and really helpful. It's OK if you're not an artist because they provide you with stencils. I can just spend hours in here (like I can at a scrapbook store). I can't wait to go back. The day we came in, a little girl was having a birthday party there. They have a little castle that they hold parties in. It's nicely decorated with kid friendly things. They have a little TV and play disney movies. It's definitely a place for parents to bring their kids. During each party, they have the kids put their hand print on a board or ceiling tile, and they later display it. read more

I used to go to this place all the time for ladies night. It was fun to enjoy time with my friends and paint and drink wine. I moved to Irving because it was closer to my job and was unable to come here since it was so far away. I recently moved back to Arlington and I'm down the street from here and I've already bought 4 pieces to paint. It's the best stress reliever I've found. I can sit an paint for hours and realize that I'm not bothered by the little things that plague me on a daily basis. The staff is great, and I like that they let me take pieces home to paint and bring back to fire. I plan on spending a good chunk of money here just for the stress relieving factor!! read more

First off the supplies we were given were terrible. I was not expecting brand new supplies but the brushes were hard no not cleaned well. This makes it very hard to make a nice looking piece. Even my son asked for a better brush. I got there with my kids as they were opening. When we walked in we were greeted by one lady. She went and took a call right next to me while we were trying to talk to another girl about what we were wanting to do. We were told to go pick our pieces. Once we did my 4 year old sat down at a table. I then sat my stuff down bc there were no employees around to help us. Once someone surfaced we were told that this area was reserved and moved to a back room. Once we were in there we waiting about 5 min for someone to come back and ask us what we were wanting as far as paint or glaze. Then we waited about 5 min for our supplies. Once we were done, I went and tracked someone down to pay. Then after another 5 min I walked into the back where everyone was and asked what we need to do to id our items and how they would contact me. Then they handed me a sticker to put my info on. I doubt I will get my items bc they have no idea what is mine. At this point with the terrible service and trying to keep my kids safe and happy I was ready to just walk out. Pretty much it was a bad experience with an unprofessional staff and terrible customer service. read more

I am a frequent customer of creative hands and have enjoyed many Saturday's painting in there but sadly I cannot ignore the fact that the store manager is always very abrupt and seems to only be interested in money rather than the fun your family is having. Very dissatisfied with my last piece after I left the store paint was peeling off of the sides and had large gloops of leftover laquer from the baking process in each crevice showing they rushed the artwork through the process. Normally have nothing but good things to say but it does not look like I will return in the future. read more
