We have had a kid in every classroom at some point, from infant through school age, and had wonderful and caring staff in every room. LPA does a great job with transitions - when my kids have been in clingy phases, at drop off someone will hold the kiddo while mom and dad leave until kiddo is ready to get down and play. Or when my kids have transitioned to the next room up as they grew older, if kiddo wanted to be dropped off in the old room, that wasn't a problem - kiddo was happy to see their previous room teacher, and then the teacher would transition them to the new room after mom/dad left. If you are a nursing mom, the infant room was great about following feeding cues and not over feeding baby or wasting breast milk. The preK program is wonderful - my oldest loved it and learned a ton, but it is still very play based. My youngest particularly loved Evelyn, and the feeling is clearly mutual. Evelyn is amazing with the kiddos and my daughter loves being in her class. If you need summer or off school care, the options are great. My oldest goes over school breaks and in the summer, and they plan field trips and activities at the center for the school age kids. He has fun, and I love knowing that he's being active, having fun, and not forgetting everything he learned during the school year.

I am fully aware that our world is filled with unkindness and harsh treatment. As an adult, I have…read morewitnessed its flaws, but as a parent, I make every effort to shield my children from it. Tragically, my 5 and 8-year-old children experienced a traumatic incident that should never have happened in daycare. Morgan, a white administrator at the school, has a white son. He told my black son that he doesn't like brown people. I wasn't informed immediately, and the matter was downplayed once I did find out. Morgan denied knowing where her son heard that and claimed he has family members of color. However, it's important to remember that having family members of color doesn't shield anyone from the influences they encounter. The foundation of this is at home. The school failed to take this matter seriously. The child should have been expelled immediately, but unfortunately, that didn't happen. As a mother, I did my best to handle the situation and educate my children about the harsh realities of life. When my children began returning home each day with new problems, and the staff expressed their confusion about the "tension" between families, I was deeply disappointed. This is particularly concerning, given that the daycare is owned by people of color. After two years of attending this daycare, I've come to realize that we were merely another statistic, with our well-being seemingly disregarded. Every daycare has its advantages and disadvantages, and here are mine: Cons: The daycare has a high turnover rate, poor communication between administrators, teachers, and parents, and inconsistent incident reports. Pros: Some teachers genuinely care about the children, the location was convenient for my family, and they were flexible when my income was temporarily reduced. However, the negatives far outweigh the positives, and I feel compelled to share this honest assessment.

We had a hard time with our daughter at this daycare with her behavior. We went to a doctor and…read morecounselor to see if we could figure out the problem because we didn't see it other places. I was then approached by another adult in the daycare that my child was being targeted and bullied by one of her teachers. We loved the daycare until we found this out. We have very fond memories of many of the teachers and director. But it's very hard when you find out that a teacher would do this to your child and that the teacher is still employed with the daycare.
