Have canceled all appointments for my entire family in the last 2 months with some sort of excuse as to why we cannot be seen. Then say it will be many months before we can get you back in. Always something and cancel last minute. Our appointment times are scheduled when office is no longer even open. Horrible service!!! I give them 0 stars!!!! I have been coming to Creative Smiles for at least 10 years (minus Covid) and this was the worst visit I have ever had at any dentist. There were none of the normal staff when I walked in. The hygienist who did not introduce herself looked in my mouth and told me I had too much crowding on the right side so she would be skipping that area. She then went to check my gums and aggressively stabbed each of them and made them bleed(my gums haven't bled for at least 2 years since doing treatments). She then did what she called a cleaning/polishing/flossing while commenting the entire time about my wisdom tooth and baby tooth that she couldn't believe I still had. The dentist then came in and barely looked at my teeth. My entire appointment was less than 30 minutes. The hygienist told me $18 charge, went to desk and the secretary first told me $126 and then changed it to $73. I paid the $73 and when I got to my car and looked in the mirror I had blood splattered on my eyebrow and a large splatter on my chin. My gums were red and pooled with blood. I will never go back to Creative Smiles and DO NOT Recommend them to anyone!! read more

We used to love Creative Smiles. But recently a crown was created for my husband's tooth by Creative Smiles. He is currently in another city and the new dentist has requested the crown from Creative Smiles so we don't have to pay for it again. No one is responding. They have not sent the crown to the new dentists and no one has answered the phone or returned messages for over a week. Now we may have to pay over $1000 again to a new dentist to get the crown made again. Insurance says they've already paid Creative Smiles for the crown, so we have to get them to return the money to the insurance co, or pay for the crown again. Grrrrrrr I'm very disappointed and angry. Buyer beware. read more

Got behind on dental care (20 yrs or so) and had 4 crowns an extraction and some other odds and ends done in a 2 month period. All went super smooth and they referred out the root canal that they couldnt do. Super nice and highly organized with great customer skills. Each visit they fully communicated work plan and insurance cost summary beforehand and next steps after. And when I wanted to really make some progress they were accomodating enough to do a 3 hour session of extraction and prep work for crowns. Best of both worlds here: large office with specialists (insurance, dental assistants, dentists) and highly organized but very friendly and informal staff. Excellent pain care also...constantly checking if anything hurt and adding pain gel and whatever to keep me from suffering. Oh...and the dental work was great also. read more

I had an appointment scheduled for 8am today. So, I braved the fresh snow and -5 degree weather just to be told "We have a meeting. We've been trying to reach you to reschedule you." Fantastic place! Everything went smoothly from making my appointment, to checking in, to filling out the forms, and especially the visit itself. Katie came in to take my Xrays and clean my teeth, and she was wonderful the whole time. Any question I had she had an answer for me! She was a super fun person to take care of me!! I only saw the doctor for a little while since nothing major was wrong with me, but even then he was super professional and kind. He took his time to make sure I knew everything I needed to about possible extractions, and to answer more of my questions. Katie ended up talking to me some more about options for teeth whitening, since I told her I was such a baby about the sensitivity. Bless her heart, she gave me some really good advice! I wish I could give this place 7 stars! I have been going here off and on for a couple of years and each and every visit has been exceptional! The staff is very nice, knowledgeable and caring. I've had such horrible experiences with dentists that I let my mouth health deteriorate. They have restored my faith in capable and gentle dentistry. The talk you through every procedure, including insurance and payments and they make sure your okay with all they are going to do. If your considering trying this place, do yourself a favor and make that first appointment, you won't regret it. They even saw me for an emergency extraction the next day after I contacted them online for an appointment. My last visit I had an amazing dental assistant named Kyle. He's my Hero! **Be caution with this facility** This practice completed dental work for me several years ago, which has resulted in an extracted tooth, and $6000 dollars to repair their substandard work. I had to repeatedly reach out to voice the issue, and was initially told "there was nothing they could do, as things happen." They then worked profusely to find reasons why the dental malpractice was not their fault although the bridge wasn't installed properly and had a short post. To make things worse, THEY NEVER EVEN APOLOGIZED FOR THE DAMAGES CAUSED! Prior to this current issue, I had to seek reimbursement from them for a poorly completed root canal performed by them. My current dentist has identified more sloppy work performed by Creative Smiles Dental Care! I can not warn you enough. Their work lacks quality, professionalism, and their communication is unprofessional to say it in the most polite way possible. Take your money elsewhere. There are better dentist practices around that will stand behind the QUALITY and longevity in their work product. I am now filing a complaint with the American Dental Association, and Better Business Bureau. Don't hesitate to notify me if more insight is needed. read more

So I booked my appointment months ahead of time. I received the email the day before with my confirmation number and reminder. NOWHERE in the CONFIRMATION email did it say you must CALL to confirm this. It gave me a confirmation number!!!! So I take time off work. VACATION TIME!!! To show up and get told "oh sorry you didn't confirm so we filled it". I mean it is 2020 and this world is crazy. But what the bunch of bull crap is that. Did I get any phone calls to confirm? I scheduled an appointment and was not taken for a month, the day before my dental insurance expired. I told the person scheduling the appointment that I did not want x rays as I had a set taken slightly less than a year ago and gave her the name of the dentist in Pendleton,Oregon- I also told her about the insurance ending soon. None of the detailed information was forwarded to clinical staff and the previous dentist was not contacted re: the x rays. I went to my appointment at 8 am on the last day of my dental insurance coverage and was told I would need x rays in order for them to clean my teeth. My last dentist in in a time zone 3 hours earlier than Champaign time so I had a professional but condescending dentist tell me I wasted my time and would not get my teeth cleaned. They do not communicate and as a result are not as professional as they think they are. read more

Went in for a cleaning today using their promotional mailer for discounted exam/xrays/cleaning and had a good experience. I can't speak for the practice as a whole, but the hygienist who worked on my teeth (Kati) was very knowledgeable & friendly and performed a gentle & thorough cleaning. I was wary at first because of some reviews about being upsold, but no one pushed any extra treatment. Will definitely go back if I am in the area. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The receptionist is extremely unprofessional and talks in slang. Also instead of calling, they will email and cancel your appointments, after waiting weeks to get in and taking time off work. The dentist also claimed I had 3 cavities...and altogether the price was over $1200. I went for a second opinion to another dentist who not only said there were no cavities, but that the rate I would've been charged was outrageous. So if you like to throw money away, wait for weeks to be seen only to get an email canceling just a few hours before the appointment and being spoken rudely and in slang by someone who should be professional, then by all means, book an appointment. read more

I'm forty plus years old and I'm a military veteran and I have never been traumatized in my life accept on Sept. 9th when I went in for a routine cleaning as a first time patient. First time patients need to take a first time exam and then after that you get your teeth cleaned that day, I thought. The butcher that gave me the exam informed me that my teeth were falling out, I had gum disease, I might have cavities, and that I needed my wisdom teeth pulled. Ok, fine seeing that I have never had a problem with my teeth before, I will play the patient money game. Can I still get my teeth cleaned today I asked. She says no and the doctor said no too, we will have to give you a 586 dollar cleaning (for one side of your mouth) that takes 3 to 6 months and not the 65 dollar cleaning you asked for, plus your wife called before hand to make the appointment and made sure that you could get your teeth cleaned that day for 65 dollars after the exam. My mouth still hurts till this day. My mouth has never hurt before and I did not get a cleaning just an exam by a butcher who should resign or be fired along with the doctor who butchered my mouth only doing an exam. They were tearing at my gums to cause and infection in my mouth all to make more money. I should have called the police. I hope this review helps someone. read more

As an update: I've since moved out of the area and have visited a new dentist. A bump on my gum has formed below the tooth that this office performed a root canal. According to my new dentist, my root canal procedure was done incorrectly, and now, because of it, I'll likely need an implant. Amazing customer service. They took my husband in after Familia Dental failed to see am absese in his tooth amd everyone else was closed. They are not in our network but we will pay out of pocket to go there again. I can't say enough good things about them!! read more

This isn't a dentist's office, it's a sales office. They will constantly upsell you on all sorts of services that you don't need, and which insurance doesn't cover. They will also over-bill you if you're not vigilant and ask questions. It took me many months to get reimbursed for their billing mistakes. Say no to the extra procedures, or better yet, stay away. read more

Dr. Dossett was very good, I had no problems with her services. Problem is, this office changes personnel every 2 months. They constantly "up sell" you on procedures that other dentists explain as not really necessary. The whole billing department is terrible....never get a straight answer, and be doubly sure your insurance will cover a procedure and GET IT IN WRITING. I had a terrible experience here. I was sucked in with one of the fliers you get in the mail for a $59 cleaning and X-rays. I don't have dental insurance so I went. They convinced me I needed a $700 gum treatment and told me I had 15 cavities!!! I let them do the treatment and fill 4 of the cavities before I got smart and got a second opinion. My new dentist looked at my X-rays and found only 6 cavities... Which means that those along with the 4 I let the fist dentist fill only add up to 10, not 15! She said I had some areas that we would watch but they didn't need filled. Basically Creative Smiles was looking for any excuse to call something a cavity and charge me $270 each to fill!!! That over a hundred dollars more than the price at 3 different dentist offices I called. It's a scam! They are just looking to make money off of people with expensive treatments and unnecessary fillings. I recommend going there for your cleaning and X-rays (if you don't have insurance) and then getting a copy of your X-rays which are legally yours and taking them to a real dentist. Also the fillings I let them do weren't done correctly ( my tooth was squared off not rounded and there was a GIANT gap between teeth) and I had to get it redone. That they did for free, but it's never fun to have your mouth numbed AGAIN. read more

If I could give creative smiles 0 stars I would but that was not an option. If you happen to go in & they say your insurance covers what you are getting done MAKE SURE it actually covers it. They said my procedure was covered with out a doubt & now they are trying to stick me with a bill well over $1,000. I wouldn't have got this procedure done if I had known this. I thought it was very unprofessional for them to take action before realizing my insurance actually did not cover what was needed. I called & called & called & for some reason with all of the people working there they didn't have the decency for the manager to call me back after multiple phone calls. I feel this place is a scam & will do anything to take your money. I have never been somewhere so unprofessional & have never been so upset about a situation. I am not one to usually complain about anything but the way I was treated & how this has been handled is absolutely absurd. Quit going after having to wait an hour past appointment time for the third time, after them "noting" in the computer my inconvenience on previous occasions. Have been billed repeatedly in the year since we've stopped going there with no explanation as to what the bill is for, just that it is past due. Have called and been promised they would look into it and call back. They did once and said after an audit that I owed nothing after all, only to receive bills for the same amount a few months later. Called again, was told they would look into it and call me back, only to receive a new bill three weeks later and no call back. read more

Highway robbery. I was first annoyed that they kept wanting me to reschedule our families appointments and with a family of six, that's not easy to do. Then my husband was recently quoted $900 for some work he 'needed' done. We just paid off an $1800 bill from his last round of work. We went for a second opinion at another office and was quoted $40 and they thought some of the other work wasn't urgent. I'm so sick that we paid them that much money. read more

I have nothing but phenomenal things to say about my experience at Creative Smiles. I went in for a consultation after I chipped my tooth only to discover that my insurance was not accepted here nor at any dentist in the area. Rather than try and gauge me for every penny I had, the staff was incredibly understanding and workable and came up with a solution that fit my limited budget. In addition, the customer service was the best I have ever experienced. Everyone I came in contact with, from the receptionists to the hygienists, was friendly and personable and made me feel comfortable and welcome. Dr. Dossett was without a doubt the greatest part of my visit. She went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction with the procedure and built a rapport with me that was unlike any I have experienced in any other medical setting.
