I told the staff and another lady but staff doesn't seem to care. Until they sort out their janitorial practices I'd steer clear. They need to pay their janitorial staff way more than thr other positions. I heard their entire janitorial staff quit. It's hot and a gross job. I hope thr City of Fort Smith considers this.

Things to do in this park include: Feeding geese (yes you can feed them break, no they wont chase after you) by the lake Running track around the lake Two seperate play grounds for kids to play on, one being gated Swing sets Baseball/softball area behind the park A small stream Covered picnic tables for public use In the park there is a medium sized golf course, a Boys and Girls Club where you can play basketball, and a swimming pool that isnt used anymore. Also features a really old cannon in the parking lot between the swimming pool and gold course. At the second playground there is a swingset for wheelchairs and toddler seats. Normally everyone that comes here is super friendly and corteous like on the running track. Doesnt cost a cent to come here and its always nice to get fresh air and have fun!

To top it off we had to pay $5 for restrooms that you couldn't use, grounds that were unkept and there was no swimming area. There was a port-a-potty that wasn't maintained. This experience was horrendous and my family will not return to this place ever again!!!!!

I asked for the drinks for my kids bc they where very thirsty from skating it took them 10-15 min. to get my drinks out there. I walked up there 2 times thinking they had forgotten about us. The pizza that was brought to us still had the price tag that was bought either at sams or Walmart of $6.98 . We bought it for $13. Wow! The Master Gardeners and U of A care for the park and it was much cleaner and nicer than I expected. Multiple gazebos, murals, hedges and potted plants, and a fountain and statue in the middle. Alma is the #1 spinach producer so they have the Popeye Gardens to represent that. Definitely worth checking out. Lots of parking available and a nice downtown main street near the high school with sidewalks.

This is a small park located in the heart of Fort Smith, Arkansas. It is right in front of Fort…read moreSmith National Historic Site and has its own decent sized private parking lot on the side. The park is named after Ross Pendergraft, a prominent resident who was the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Donrey Media Group, a national media company. There is not much to this park. It is relatively small and features a Bass Reeves statue titled, Into the Territory. You will also find a covered stage/pavilion (which serves as a unhoused person camp) and some benches that are positioned along the parks paved walkways. There is a patch of green space, but nothing large enough for playing field sports. The park's primary purpose is relaxation, picnics and small to medium special events. The park is well maintained and has a capacity of about 500. It should be noted that the park does not have any restrooms or water fountains, so, plan accordingly. This park has a decent sized green space and is the site of many special events inclusding the city's Fall Festival, the Fort Smith Lambda Society Pride event and group exercise classes including their popular Zumba class. An interesting fact about the park is that a time capsule is located there, behind the Bass Reeves statue, and is to be unearthed in 2118, 100 years after being buried.
