During the root canal procedure, he kept checking in with me to make sure I was doing ok and kept telling me that it was ok if I needed a break. He was just delightful! The front staff were also super friendly, they made sure to go over my insurance with me so I knew what I was getting in for and helped me file my claim as well. They don't direct bill but they do help you submit your claim. After the procedure, the doctor again asked me if I had any questions and made sure I was going home feeling comfortable. The next day, the staff called to follow up with me and make sure I was doing ok. They kept saying that if anything comes up, they would be there to help and that I shouldn't hesitate to call them. Really impressed with the way the treat their patients!

Dr. Hafezi's level of communication throughout my entire process with him was wonderful and he even helped me after hours in order to aid with an infection by calling in antibiotics. I would highly recommend Dr. Hafezi to anyone who is in need of a root canal as he makes any appointment/ scheduling and recovery as easy as it can be. In addition to Dr. Hafezi's professionalism and care, his team maintains this level of kindness and knowledge throughout their role at the front and within their hygienist duties. I've always felt comfortable at Vancouver Endontic Centre and that's in entirety due to Dr. Hafezi and his staff's efforts.

That said, when you're in pain, and it doesn't go away on it's own, and you've maxed out on OTC pain meds for weeks, it's time to get the source of the pain addressed by a professional. And my terrific dentist referred me to this practice and, specifically, Dr. Ektefaie here, saying this is where he himself goes for endodontal work. So that was quite an endorsement for me! This place was great. No surprises, and lots of patience with me (I am a bit phobic of dentists. Yes, I AM a woos, stemming from a horrid experience as a child with a Marathon Man-esque dentist. But I digress...). I visited here twice: once, for a diagnosis/evaluation, and then again, days later for the actual procedure. I was lucky they were able to work me in the schedule so soon after the eval. And Dr. Ektefaie and his assistants were really super, taking the time to explain everything to me, showing me the x-rays and going over the situation (I like that I was included in the whole process and all various options and potential issues were discussed clearly to me. Made me feel like I was in control here and part of the team). I also appreciated that all costs were disclosed upfront. Again, I don't like surprises and here, there were none. The procedure was as painless as possible (surprisingly), and the pain I had lived with for the past month was gone! (Root canals get a bad rap, I think! When you need 'em, you need 'em). The front desk staff here was also friendly. Can't say enough good things about this practice.

Even though this was the worst dental situation I have ever had, this ended up being the best experience I've ever had at a dentist -- thanks to the entire staff at VanEndo!

The endodentist I saw (Dr. Winestock, not sure which one) was efficient. Cons: No direct billing. I get it, they're specialists but it's almost 2020. Is it convenient for anyone to be out 5K and await reimbursement? Their fees are also 40% higher than what my extended health deems an appropriate fee in their guide. Again, I get it, swanky offices don't pay for themselves but I'm naught but a poor peasant. Nobody discloses this as you're paying. Finally, my personal experience sucked. After a root canal, I was not given a prescription for anti-inflammation or pain relief or antibiotics. I spent that night in tears. A prescription was hastily faxed the next morning and mistakes happen but this one cost me a day of work. Not coming back. There are other endodentists out there, thanks.

However, my treatment at Evergreen Endo went so well I have no complaints. I was referred for an infected tooth as a result of a botched root canal 10+ years ago. I saw Dr. Yael Winestock (his father Earl also works there) and it was the most painless dental experience of my life. Dr. Winestock was meticulous during the freezing process and I barely felt it. The dental assistant was professional and they both ensured I was comfortable the whole way. The office also has really state of the art equipment (they certainly don't have it at my regular dentist!) and a nice view as well. The treatment was in excess of the fee guides for my insurance, but not by too much (I had to pay about 15%). In the end I would say it was worth it for the quality treatment I received.

I saw my dentist who I advised I would need a root canal and was referred to Dr Rene Chu of Oakridge Endodontics. I had an initial consult with Dr Chu where x-rays were taken and he explained in detail the process. A root canal is required when the inner pulp of a tooth becomes infected, inflamed, or dies due to severe decay. The root canal removes the infected pulp, cleans the root canal, and seals it to save the tooth from extraction. The root canal appointment was made for the following week. The root canal procedure went very well. Each step of the process was explained as they went and they continually checked to ensure I was ok. There was a short debrief after the procedure and I was provided instructions / information on what to expect for the next few days. It was a very positive dental procedure and happy to recommend Dr Chu and Oakridge Endodontics if one is needing a root canal.

That said, I was referred to Drs. Conn by my dentist for a Root Canal. Just the phrase makes people cringe. I can't say when I've been more impressed by the service provided. Never mind, the surgery itself was less disturbing than getting a Filling. Now that's saying something! I've been around the block, quite a few times, and Drs. Conn are consummate professionals in every way. Their staff are also wonderful to deal with, every single one of them. Anyone saying otherwise needs to look in the mirror. I understand that some people are terrified of dentists, but they need to seek other professional help prior to attending to limit the stress they are putting on the dentist.
