The walkway was not very well cleaned of snow and for us golden Agers this wasn't a good thing. You check-in after walking a couple hundred yards from where you park, less if you're dropped off at the turnaround. One area going slightly downhill could use a railing for snowy rainy days. You are checked in and given two towels and a rope and a key to a locker. You need to bring a swimsuit and sandals. After changing you are than led to a room for an hour massage. I had asked for a Deep message and what I got was far from that. Very disappointing!!! My wife had the same experience. Next you shower and go to the different outside areas. I started with the cold pool then the hot pool. Next the sauna on to the Eucalyptus room and the Relaxation Solarium. It's a beautiful property and they stress QUITE! The one pool with a waterfall was closed for maintenance. I like the Eucalyptus Room and Solarium the best. After showering, we had a very good lunch. The spa reminded me of places in Iceland - lots of areas to take on different hot and cold therapies and relax in between. It was great to have a silent and digital detox rule to not hear everyone else's conversations. We went on a sunny day which made the hot areas a bit too hot for my personal taste, and nervous about sunscreen sweating off - but I'm not about to complain about being outside in a beautiful area with mountain views. I first visited Dr. McKay based on the glowing endorsement of a highly respected oral surgeon, who has been Dr. McKay's patient for many years. I wanted to see a trustworthy and skilled dentist who could provide a second opinion on my (now previous) dentist's advice to get crowns on my upper teeth to repair the damage done through excessive wear and fix a faulty bite. This is a prohibitively expensive and aggressive procedure, which involves the filing, reduction and reshaping of existing teeth in order to make room for the porcelain caps. Thank goodness I received a second opinion! Not only did Dr. McKay clearly explain why I didn't need crowns, but he recommended a far cheaper and more conservative treatment--bonding--which would repair, strengthen, protect and improve the appearance of my teeth without reducing their size or integrity. Last week, Dr. McKay, with the help of his excellent assistant, spent over two hours painstakingly performing the bonding procedure on my upper and lower teeth. Before starting, he clearly summarized what was going to happen, and then just before each step in the process, either he or his assistant would explain precisely what would happen next. I appreciated the high level of communication throughout the procedure, which Dr. McKay performed to perfection. Not only did Dr. McKay do a superb job with my teeth, but he saved me well over $10,000! It takes me 60-90 minutes to drive to his office in North Vancouver, but I would never consider going anywhere else for my dental work.

Lower Right: Dr. Winter did not inform me that the bridge made by the lab was too long and didn't fit. Instead of returning it back to the lab, he proceeded with its installation by adjusting one of the existing teeth and slicing the side of another one without asking for my permission or even informing me. When the job was done, the bridge was sitting lower than the original teeth used to be, creating quite a visible gap with my upper teeth, and leaving me with pain, which I never had on this side before, and which he was not able to address despite many adjustments he made. The only response from him was: "Just avoid eating on this side." Common sense tells us that one doesn't go to a dentist to do a major work in order to acquire permanent pain. I would never recommend him as a dentist.

When I checked in for my consult appointment I was given literature (which I liked) which outlined all things wisdom teeth related. Dr. Bellamy checked my teeth and went over all the risks of leaving wisdom teeth in and taking the out, the risks of surgery. I found him to be very reassuring. When I checked in for surgery I was nervous about being sedated, however the anthesiologist was also very reassuring; I was comfortable enough to joke with the doctors and nurses in the surgical room up until I was knocked out. My recovery has been great, I was given very good instructions and surgery was great! I also received a call the same to day to check how I was doing. If you are going to dental surgery for wisdom teeth I strong recommend Dr. Bellamy!
