January 2026: My mom has lived here for 6 years. She has loved it and is sad to have to move due to very declined health. She always enjoyed spending time in her beautiful apartment and gardening and sitting out on her lovely porch with a view of nature and a gorgeous pond/nature reserve! She always enjoyed the food too. There are lots of fun activities and though she didn't often join those, the staff all still got to know her well and showed such care for her making her feel a part of the community. The other residents are lovely as well. Front desk, kitchen staff, servers, housekeeping, facilities, and management are all SO KIND. We lived close by and were there often and can attest to how well run and great a choice Creekside Oaks is! It's also very reasonably priced for Folsom. They've also renovated the apartments with new paint and flooring. Highly recommend! Also, COVID was handled well but as in most senior care places there was staff turnover from how stressful that was. Natalie (current Director) and her team have improved a rough patch that followed that matches the time of most negative reviews. It's back to being a great place! read more

Creekside Oaks is a wonderful place! I had to move my mom from her home of over 50 years. She had the beginning signs of dementia but wasn't ready for assisted/memory care. She made friends quickly, participated in activities and gained some much needed weight on the delicious food! I came here and had a tour in hopes of my dad moving here. Renee met with me showed me around. She was super sweet and so good at her job. The next day I brought my dad for the tour and lunch. Every person who works here is so kind and patient and listened to him and his questions. Rolfy is the chef, came out and was so sweet and engaging to my dad. Renee spent so much time with us. Unfortunately my dad is stubborn old guy who isn't ready for this amazing place. But I would totally recommend it to anyone looking for retirement community. Seriously the staff was amazing and kind. This is a very nice and well operated Community. My mom has been so happy here since we moved her in! The manager, Rebecca, has always been so caring and wonderful and Marty, the new Director is awesome! He seems to have a handle on the day to day and is kind and understanding! Creekside Oaks is great because of the supportive, caring, and cheerful staff, the good programs, and the superb food. They have done a great job with my Mom, she has made remarkable improvement since she arrived at the Creekside! read more

Unfortunately this place is not at its best. The food is served in toddler portions and the menu is the same week after week. The staff is constantly turning, they have had 4 different directors in the past year. They most often have only 2 servers during meals and it takes an hour to be waited on. The workers are highly overworked and under recognized. They have had 5 chefs that have either been let go or they leave due to poor management. I wish this was a better review, I am hopeful things can turn around for the positive. read more

We couldn't have asked for a better residence than Creekside. It's a beautiful property in the center of Folsom, next to a nice walking trail with plenty of activities and entertainment. There always seems to be something going on here and the first face you usually see when you walk in is Jamie's and she's just the sweetest thing! But honestly everyone is truly amazing, so kind and incredibly welcoming. The transition can be can be a difficult time for some but the care of the staff makes it all so much easier. A+ read more

After having the pleasure of working as a Caregiver with a few of the residents of Creekside Oaks, I jumped at the chance to be a part of their amazing staff. They're a gorgeous establishment located just minutes from many of Folsom's major shopping centers. They offer so much to their residents including free wi-fi, cable, bus services for errands and organized outings, dining services, entertainment (live music, parties, and activities), and housekeeping. Creekside Oaks Retirement Community - Dining area - Retirement Homes Near Me - Folsom, California

Pretty shocked at some of the negative reviews I'm seeing that are completely inaccurate (when you show pictures of half-eaten meals, of course they're going to look terrible), so I thought I'd leave a positive review for the staff here who work so hard to care for residents like my mother-in-law. She is in a happy mood every time we visit and is always well cared for. To be clear, this is NOT assisted living. It is independent living, meaning it is essentially senior apartments with luxury amenities and the benefits of belonging to a tight-knit community of residents and staff. Anyone complaining that their family member isn't receiving proper care here really just isn't hiring the proper full-time care necessary for their loved one. (I believe they provide an option to hire additional care through a third party, but my MIL doesn't need this currently.) After trying two different communities previously, we have finally found a place with the caring staff and standard of living that is the right fit for my MIL. She has never been happier or healthier. I have been particularly impressed lately with manager, Michael Dettmer, and staff's handling of the COVID-19 crisis. I have been comforted in these times of high stress and uncertainty by the preventative measures they have taken to keep my mother-in-law safe. She has three nutritious and filling meals delivered to her room everyday by cheerful and attentive staff so that she doesn't have to leave the safety of her apartment during shelter-in-place. (Sorry no pictures because my MIL doesn't know how to use her camera on her phone.) You can't make everybody happy all the time when it comes to food, but the fact that we only hear complaints about her "not caring for something" maybe once every couple of months says A LOT about their kitchen. Especially coming from her!!! (Trust me. I know!) It's easy to forget that the staff here are Essential Workers under the provisions of SIP. They risk their health and the health of their families every day that they show up to work to take care of OUR loved ones for us. Currently, they have had zero cases, which gives me so much peace of mind and a HUGE sense of relief. They are like family to my mother-in-law when my husband and I can't be there ourselves. Thank you, Creekside Oaks staff, for keeping my mother-in-law safe, happy, healthy, and for making us feel like she is truly cared about during these crazy times. I am very pleased with Creekside Oaks. My mom moved there in February 2020. The management and staff couldn't be nicer. Everyone has a smile on their face and are eager to accommodate any request they can. The management and staff truly love the residents they care for and do everything they can to show it. When my mom was brand new to Creekside Oaks, the staff and management all knew who she was and made her feel very welcomed. Now that she has been there for a few months, management, staff and her new friends are like her extended family. She has already made many friends. She looks happy and healthy, better than she has looked in years, and she constantly tells me how happy she is there. During the COVID crisis, management took swift action in order to keep their residents and staff safe and COVID-free. To my knowledge, no one at Creekside Oaks caught the virus. Even though times are hard and uncertain right now, my mom and I both understand and appreciate that keeping everyone healthy was their most important concern. They have done an excellent job in keeping the residents and their families up to date on the situation with the current pandemic. I would highly recommend Creekside Oaks to anyone who is considering moving into a senior living community. read more

Creekside used to be a wonderful place, but since hiring the current Activity Director last year, many of the residents are treated with discrimination while others are shown favoritism. If there are actual activities or crafts for the residents to do, they often revolve around the activity director's interests and not the residents. Recently the activity director has purchased many yoga mats and yoga balls for the 80+ year old residents to use. When asked why she thought yoga would be a good activity, she replied saying that this is a 55+ community (which is mostly full of 80+ year old seniors with walkers). They used to have chair exercises for residents prior to Covid, but now only yoga. What about the 80+ year old crowd? These residents pay are large amount to live here, and for the past two years because of Covid have spent a lot of time in isolation and not allowed to socialize. Don't you think they deserve to get what they're paying for, and to be treated with respect and dignity? Concerns have been brought to the Manager, but he doesn't seem to do anything about the concerns. We're pretty fed up! read more

My mom has lived at Creekside Oaks 5 years. Besides the obvious of not having to cook and clean, the staff is what makes the difference here. The staff truly cares about the residents. Just recently my mom had to go to the hospital, for what turned out to be minor, but initially was scary. On returning one of handmen was just leaving for the day. He asked how my mom was. He opened both entrance doors and walked us to the elevator. The front desk person and management asked my mom how she was and appeared and expressed relief she was ok and back. It was dinner time and management asked if my mom wanted food. On picking up food to take to my mom the dining room staff asked how my mom was. They also expressed concern and relief she was back. I received a text that night and the next morning from two house keepers asking how my mom was doing. I am surprised I have not written a review before now. No matter what position the employee holds at Creekside Oaks, they are genuinely kind, thoughtful and always willing to help the residents in any way they can. They give both my mom and me peace of mind. And I want to give them a huge THANK YOU. read more

I loved this place for my mom. This was our first place to visit and we loved the atmosphere, the facility, and the people were so friendly. However, when we toured, we were told the monthly fee would be 3,075 per month. We left thinking we would probably choose this place but we needed to tour other facilities. 2 days later, after touring 9 other facilities, we were back with a check for the waitlist fee. THEN WE WERE TOLD ABOUT A "COMMUNITY" FEE. It would cost us $10,000 to secure the monthly rent of $3,075. WE WERE SHOCKED! Why didnt Michael Tipton inform us of that before we left. We used this facility to compare all the others WITHOUT KNOWING ALL THE FACTS. This place is designed nicely and the people were so friendly. However, I couldnt shake the DECEPTION I felt I got from Mr. Tipton. POTENTIAL RESIDENTS SHOULD KNOW PEOPLE ARE NOT BEING GIVEN ALL THE FACTS UNTIL THEY ARE READY TO SIGN. Mr. Tipton said that CORPORATE does not like the sales staff to tell people about the stiff community fee during the tour because it tends to discourage potential residents. THIS IS A SALES TACTIC THAT IS DECEPTIVE AND JUST PLAIN WRONG!!! read more
