He was very comfortable there and the nurses, especially Maria, took care of him like he was family. He always told me how good the food was and he was always happy when I stopped by to visit. I was able to communicate directly with Lina the administrator as well as Maria one of the nurses through text messages which was very convenient. They were always very good at getting back to me. The other residents are lovely as well. Front desk, kitchen staff, servers, housekeeping, facilities, and management are all SO KIND. We lived close by and were there often and can attest to how well run and great a choice Creekside Oaks is! It's also very reasonably priced for Folsom. They've also renovated the apartments with new paint and flooring. Highly recommend! Also, COVID was handled well but as in most senior care places there was staff turnover from how stressful that was. Natalie (current Director) and her team have improved a rough patch that followed that matches the time of most negative reviews. It's back to being a great place!

There are not enough positive words to say what a life-saver Brookdale Senior Living in Folsom and Shari Kranig (Exec. Director) have been for my mom and our family. It is immaculate always, to the point where my kids and grandkids all say it smells so good and is so clean! The food is incredible, really! We can visit Mom to eat a yummy meal with her (we pay for our own). There is even a smaller separate dining room where we have had my mom's birthday and other family celebrations. But the greatest compliments are for the staff from the top (Shari) to every person working there: housekeeping, dining, medical, caregivers, front desk, maintenance, etc. Everyone knows my mom's name and the family. It always feels so welcoming to visit, and comforting knowing Mom is loved and cared for. Mom often holds my hand tell me that they love her! My mom was so ill when she first moved in. I thought we were going to lose her, but she has been stabilized and is so much better. Her room has a beautiful view of the huge courtyard with a giant oak tree, roses and many potted flowers. There is an outside walkway, patio with chairs, tables and umbrellas so she and our family can go outside for sunshine and nature. The Fireside Room is cozy with a full-sized grand piano. My mom even played it several times. It is an active spot for people from Bible study to word games, exercise and musicians. There are daily activities, menus, and outings to the store or elsewhere. This facility includes a memory section, and I toured noticing how immaculate it is kept. The residents were also well dressed, clean and have activities. As I said, not enough words. Carrie had me all set up by the time I was discharged. Two angels, Linda and KK showed up and knew exactly what I needed. Both stayed the first day and then KK stayed with me every day after that.KK did all of my personal care, made meals, took me to medical appointments, kept track of my supplies. She is a ray of sunshine, always with a smile on her face. She assisted the RN who came in three times a week with my wound care. KK is a fast learner. Golden Years is definitely my go to for in home care. I refer them to everyone who asks me about in home care. They are the best. My daughter was frantic to leave me, she had a trip planned for months, until she talked with Carrie and met KK. She was so relieved and had a wonderful vacation. Thank you Golden Years.

My father lived at home for 94 years, but after a brief illness, he was hospitalized. When the…read morehospital planned to discharge him, we realized he wasn't ready to go home alone and would need assistance to regain his strength. We toured Carlton Senior Living and were impressed with the facility. However, after less than three weeks, we discovered it wasn't suitable for him and moved him out. While the staff were friendly, the place was clean, the food was good, and the grounds were pleasant, it was not a fit for someone like my father that needed more assistance. Knowing what I do now, the place is ideal for those who want to avoid housework, engage in activities, and not cook. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right fit for someone needing assistance with basic tasks like using the bathroom or showering. My dad required more help, which led to significant additional costs--almost doubling the original quote. The staff didn't respond quickly enough when he needed assistance. On one occasion, he needed assistance and couldn't wait any longer for help. He tried to get up by himself and fell, hitting his head and requiring paramedics. I also requested multiple times that his night lamp be connected to the Alexa outlet for voice control, but that never happened. He was frustrated with the lack of assistance, in a timely manner, so we looked for alternatives. After moving him out, I was shocked to receive a bill for over $10,000 more than expected. This added to the emotional stress I was already experiencing. After pointing this out, the bill was corrected but I should not have had to do their accountants job. We eventually moved my father to a board-and-care residential facility, which is providing the care he truly needs, and I wish we had made that choice from the beginning.

Memory Care food is not nutritional nor nicely presented: lunch may likely be a tuna salad sandwich on white bread with Lay's potato chips, served on a plastic plate. YUCK.
